1.
Nice, but knowing that means I'll not be using them, as I'd planned.
They have plans to do so in the future it seems, they are, in their eyes, still a small business who's product control overseas is handled by other, small companies. I suspect things will change as the product continues to gain global popularity and eventually falls I to the hands of a large distributor who can also help handle international endorsements and tour support. I certainly wouldn't let it put you off using what is a fantastic product that solves the issue of space with cabling on pedal boards.
2. Apparently they don't endorse users outside of the USA, but are sending me a T-Shirt, Stickers & a George L's cable tester as a thank you for supporting the product so much
3. I get it all from Hot Rox. They have an online store: http://www.hotroxuk....gs-10001-0.html , But I have the benefit that they are 2 minutes from our studio, so I know the owner pretty well. I use the .155 gauge stuff for my entire board. The only cable on it that isn't are the 3 midi cables that run from a splitter into the MP-201, Pitchfactor & Cluster Flux (So they all share a midi clock in sync with the metronome we play live to), They are Neutrik Plugs and generic 2-core with shield cable. I LOVE the George L's stuff, though I know many others are not too keen. Between that cabling and my GigRig Power system it's done a miracle job of keeping my signal chain so clean! I've become a bit OTT with the neat pedalboard cabling though. I'm doing a mates board for him next week now too! lol Edit: Just done the maths on how much I've spent on George L's... Ouch. I'm not going to do the same with my Modular Power System as I fear that will beat the cost hands down
4.
Jesus! I have 10.... Good lawd my man!
I know! I figure a good 20m of cable as well... Still relatively noise free though with the exception of some hiss when I use the Bright Filter on my EBS head (Super highs), yet still nothing major
5.
want one of these so badly! and i see on facebook you've been messing about with the motherboard shep? andy
It is awesome! Indeed - My 'lower level' of the board has been messy for too long - out of sight, out of mind and all that. I decided it was time to tidy and cut cables down a little better etc. Its pretty tidy now! I actually contacted George L's about an endorsement. 72 Plugs seemed like a fair C.V. for it! lol
6.
Thanks! Do you have a link/contact details? I can't find anything on the web...
PM on its way
7.
However I have my eye on a couple of guitars and some electronic devices for making and manipulating weird sounds. What I really want though is to find a really good studio in Nottingham to record the next Dick Venom single. Any Ideas?
Moot. Johnny Carter's (Ex-Pitchshifter) place. Some awesome guitar based rock stuff coming out of there. As for GAS... nothing. I need to sort out some ergonomics with my bass/basses due to impending health issues, but nothing on my 'want' list. Not even effects... now that unheard of!
8. No, the flashback can't - So as a gigging tool it is not so perfect. As a practice tool though I find it perfect. It has unlimited loops which is great and its process of layering loops is quite instinctive... The 1st loop you record sets the length of the phrase. You can layer single drop ins etc as you see fit, as it will sit it within the point of the 1st loop each time. Also, if you are recording a later loop and go over the length of the 1st loop, what you are playing will start again as the loop restarts and your continuation of playing becomes another layer on top. Reading that back is sounds gibberish, but when you play with it, it makes sense. Also worth noting that its pretty much the nicest sounding delay I've used in a long time as well. The modulated delay is particularly fantastic on bass.
9. As stated, this tuner is worth a fair bit. If you have an issue with pricing PLEASE contact the seller by PM and not undermine the sale, as per forum rules: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?app=forums&module=forums&section=rules&f=19
10. I've recently swapped out my whammy with a Pitchfactor for the pitch glide settings. Everything else it can do is mind blowing. Best move I ever made!
11. Maybe OTT - But if you have the room on a pedalboard it's not a bas idea, simply because the LS-2 is hands down the best pedal in the world and everyone should own one. It does a million and one things and the number of times I was in a studio with an odd situation to sort out when the engineer said 'if only you had an LS-2' - I've always had one since.
12. Well done dude! A good friend's band is playing as well - Def Goldblum. They are collectively, MC Duke01 (who appeared on our last EP) and the Nottingham band, Cleaver Hook. Together they are the most amazing Public Enemy covers act!
13. It's never really bothered me too much but I have definitely noticed it. It's such a lovely sounding pedal I've always just 'accepted' it.
14. I find the Unichorus gives a slight boost in volume, though I suspect it's actually a boost in the higher mid frequencies that make it cut through. If I'm not mistaken there is a trim pot inside, but this is a mix/blend of the chorus effect. This is 'supposed' to come from the factory (if you bought it new) at 50/50. Reducing this 'may' lessen the volume shift, but may also change the sound of the effect - which could be undesirable!
15. Which Nottingham BC'er? I need to pop over and steal it
16. First Bass Owned: Squire P-Bass (Red with White Scratch Plate) 'Go To' Bass: Roscoe Century Signature 'Your' Bass: As above, Roscoe Century Signature
17.
You'll have to get past me first Shep! Your pedal board is mighty enough as is, mine is a sad state of affairs! haha!
Yeah but my board has taken on a life of its own - If i don't feed it, it gets very very angry!!
18. Love the Frantabit. Amazing demo's always!! Fingers crossed for the pedal give away )))))
19. Yup. Over the back gate or in the bin have both happened to me, then the driver was kind enough to sign for it on my behalf - how kind. Check with the neighbours as well!
20. In that case this bass is a bargain. I spent some serious time considering this when I was making a move to 6ers. For this money its a SERIOUS bit of kit.
21. Did this come from Bass Direct? I played an identical one some time back... Great feel, very light and sounded very much like the top end Yamaha TRB's. Nice and meaty sounding!
22. Yeah, a pair of Right angle Georgle L plugs and then a length of cable. You cut the cable to length so it will be fairly precise. Hot Rox sell the cable by the Meter and the plugs... Cable: http://www.hotroxuk.com/guitar-accessories-links-847-0/guitar-cable-links-6145-0/george-l-cables-and-plugs-10001-0/george-l-cable-155-black.html Plugs: http://www.hotroxuk.com/guitar-accessories-links-847-0/guitar-cable-links-6145-0/george-l-cables-and-plugs-10001-0/george-l-s-plug-angled-nickel-155.html And if you want to be anal and keeping things black against the amp, a couple of little covers: http://www.hotroxuk.com/guitar-accessories-links-847-0/guitar-cable-links-6145-0/george-l-cables-and-plugs-10001-0/george-l-jackets-155-angled-plugs.html
