1. What I could do with that on a stand, with my MP-201 under foot. Ooooooh.
2. I kinda wish I had the funds to be fair... It would be great for the rare time I don't need my 1400w rig of doom. Unfortunately, since going part time to do more music, spare cash has become a thing of the past! Bump for a fellow Roscoe user and an AWESOME bit of kit.
3. Got the email about it earlier. Yum!!! Looking forward to seeing and hearing more of it!
4. Hugh, welcome to Basschat! Corvid is perfect now. It just needed moving in the signal chain as the noise floor levels of pedals were causing a few mishaps. Loving it!
5. They are unique and not the easiest to get the feel for, but have a great tone (especially if you restring it with Pahoehoe Uke-Bass strings). The MK2 sounds somewhere between a Fretless and an EUB. I'm unsure if the MK1's had different pickups or tone controls compared to the MK2's though...?
6. This is a MK1 and are VERY rare. In fact this is only the 2nd one I've ever seen for sale. I would still think this was expensive, that said its worth what ever a collector will pay.
7. Any pics? What are the selectable frequencies? What are you interested in with regards to trades? Shep
8. I had one of these. Fantastic amp. Miss mine. Perfect go-to grab and run head.
9. Mark, yes - its a single board with what the builder refers to as a 'bridge'. The bridge (or, raised platform) is secured in place with some small retaining bolts that just slide into the bottom of it. Most of the pedals that I don't tweak live are either under the bridge, or sat in 'hard to press' places and connected to the 8-way Bypass Looper, which I used to turn them on and off. If you look at the last set of pics I posted you'll see a small bracket next to the Mastotron and one above it near the back of the board, they are what the 'foot' of the bridge line up against/clamp too on that side. You'll see that same on the other side next to the power supply. There is a middle support as well but that does not clamp down. It runs the same length as the other two, starting just above the PN-2 and runs up between the Bass Drive & the Evenflo adapter above the PN-2. If you look at the cabling there you'll see that most of it is in a 'loom' which curves around to be against the side of the Bass Drive, yet 1 cable is loose and runs straight up, this is because they fall either side of the 'foot'.
10. As per forum rules you must state an asking price or have the sale removed. Cheers Shep
11. Nice set up dude!
12.
Nice, but knowing that means I'll not be using them, as I'd planned.
They have plans to do so in the future it seems, they are, in their eyes, still a small business who's product control overseas is handled by other, small companies. I suspect things will change as the product continues to gain global popularity and eventually falls I to the hands of a large distributor who can also help handle international endorsements and tour support. I certainly wouldn't let it put you off using what is a fantastic product that solves the issue of space with cabling on pedal boards.
13. Apparently they don't endorse users outside of the USA, but are sending me a T-Shirt, Stickers & a George L's cable tester as a thank you for supporting the product so much
14. I get it all from Hot Rox. They have an online store: http://www.hotroxuk....gs-10001-0.html , But I have the benefit that they are 2 minutes from our studio, so I know the owner pretty well. I use the .155 gauge stuff for my entire board. The only cable on it that isn't are the 3 midi cables that run from a splitter into the MP-201, Pitchfactor & Cluster Flux (So they all share a midi clock in sync with the metronome we play live to), They are Neutrik Plugs and generic 2-core with shield cable. I LOVE the George L's stuff, though I know many others are not too keen. Between that cabling and my GigRig Power system it's done a miracle job of keeping my signal chain so clean! I've become a bit OTT with the neat pedalboard cabling though. I'm doing a mates board for him next week now too! lol Edit: Just done the maths on how much I've spent on George L's... Ouch. I'm not going to do the same with my Modular Power System as I fear that will beat the cost hands down
15.
Jesus! I have 10.... Good lawd my man!
I know! I figure a good 20m of cable as well... Still relatively noise free though with the exception of some hiss when I use the Bright Filter on my EBS head (Super highs), yet still nothing major
16.
want one of these so badly! and i see on facebook you've been messing about with the motherboard shep? andy
It is awesome! Indeed - My 'lower level' of the board has been messy for too long - out of sight, out of mind and all that. I decided it was time to tidy and cut cables down a little better etc. Its pretty tidy now! I actually contacted George L's about an endorsement. 72 Plugs seemed like a fair C.V. for it! lol
17.
Thanks! Do you have a link/contact details? I can't find anything on the web...
PM on its way
18.
However I have my eye on a couple of guitars and some electronic devices for making and manipulating weird sounds. What I really want though is to find a really good studio in Nottingham to record the next Dick Venom single. Any Ideas?
Moot. Johnny Carter's (Ex-Pitchshifter) place. Some awesome guitar based rock stuff coming out of there. As for GAS... nothing. I need to sort out some ergonomics with my bass/basses due to impending health issues, but nothing on my 'want' list. Not even effects... now that unheard of!
19. No, the flashback can't - So as a gigging tool it is not so perfect. As a practice tool though I find it perfect. It has unlimited loops which is great and its process of layering loops is quite instinctive... The 1st loop you record sets the length of the phrase. You can layer single drop ins etc as you see fit, as it will sit it within the point of the 1st loop each time. Also, if you are recording a later loop and go over the length of the 1st loop, what you are playing will start again as the loop restarts and your continuation of playing becomes another layer on top. Reading that back is sounds gibberish, but when you play with it, it makes sense. Also worth noting that its pretty much the nicest sounding delay I've used in a long time as well. The modulated delay is particularly fantastic on bass.
20. As stated, this tuner is worth a fair bit. If you have an issue with pricing PLEASE contact the seller by PM and not undermine the sale, as per forum rules: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?app=forums&module=forums&section=rules&f=19
21. I've recently swapped out my whammy with a Pitchfactor for the pitch glide settings. Everything else it can do is mind blowing. Best move I ever made!
22. Maybe OTT - But if you have the room on a pedalboard it's not a bas idea, simply because the LS-2 is hands down the best pedal in the world and everyone should own one. It does a million and one things and the number of times I was in a studio with an odd situation to sort out when the engineer said 'if only you had an LS-2' - I've always had one since.
23. Well done dude! A good friend's band is playing as well - Def Goldblum. They are collectively, MC Duke01 (who appeared on our last EP) and the Nottingham band, Cleaver Hook. Together they are the most amazing Public Enemy covers act!
24. It's never really bothered me too much but I have definitely noticed it. It's such a lovely sounding pedal I've always just 'accepted' it.
25. I find the Unichorus gives a slight boost in volume, though I suspect it's actually a boost in the higher mid frequencies that make it cut through. If I'm not mistaken there is a trim pot inside, but this is a mix/blend of the chorus effect. This is 'supposed' to come from the factory (if you bought it new) at 50/50. Reducing this 'may' lessen the volume shift, but may also change the sound of the effect - which could be undesirable!
