2. The new Miloopa album - Optica. Different, but good.
3. First Bass Owned: Squire P-Bass (Red with White Scratch Plate) 'Go To' Bass: Roscoe Century Signature 'Your' Bass: As above, Roscoe Century Signature
4.
You'll have to get past me first Shep! Your pedal board is mighty enough as is, mine is a sad state of affairs! haha!
Yeah but my board has taken on a life of its own - If i don't feed it, it gets very very angry!!
5. Love the Frantabit. Amazing demo's always!! Fingers crossed for the pedal give away )))))
6. Yup. Over the back gate or in the bin have both happened to me, then the driver was kind enough to sign for it on my behalf - how kind. Check with the neighbours as well!
7. Sad news. One of the greats.
8. In that case this bass is a bargain. I spent some serious time considering this when I was making a move to 6ers. For this money its a SERIOUS bit of kit.
9. Did this come from Bass Direct? I played an identical one some time back... Great feel, very light and sounded very much like the top end Yamaha TRB's. Nice and meaty sounding!
10. Yeah, a pair of Right angle Georgle L plugs and then a length of cable. You cut the cable to length so it will be fairly precise. Hot Rox sell the cable by the Meter and the plugs... Cable: http://www.hotroxuk.com/guitar-accessories-links-847-0/guitar-cable-links-6145-0/george-l-cables-and-plugs-10001-0/george-l-cable-155-black.html Plugs: http://www.hotroxuk.com/guitar-accessories-links-847-0/guitar-cable-links-6145-0/george-l-cables-and-plugs-10001-0/george-l-s-plug-angled-nickel-155.html And if you want to be anal and keeping things black against the amp, a couple of little covers: http://www.hotroxuk.com/guitar-accessories-links-847-0/guitar-cable-links-6145-0/george-l-cables-and-plugs-10001-0/george-l-jackets-155-angled-plugs.html
11. Ady sold me a Comfort Strapp. As described, arrived quick. Can't ask for more! Cheers bud Shep
12. Do you use your EQ totally flat? It's not ideal, but if you don't use the amp EQ, you could always go Bass into tuner input, output on back of tuner to effects return of amp. This would connect fine but bypass the preamp section of the amp, so you would basically be using a power amp with the 'flat' EQ flavour of the head.
13. It's a pedal like any other. It takes a signal, processes it, and spits it out the other side. It doesn't matter what that signal is. A volume pedal is pretty much a volume pot, like the one on your bass. I'm sure some do (in the way of buffers) effect tone etc, but they are designed to just move the volume up and down, as such I'd be surprised if you notice any tonal change regardless of what you put through it! I own an Ernie Ball VPJnr and have owned a Morley one and also a cheap Bespeco one. I've used all three with bass, and with keys and guitars in the studio and noticed absolutly ZERO change in tone between all 3 of them on all instruments. The only difference, as with all volume & expression pedals is in what feels comfy to you under foot. Many pedals come in different types and with different pots (25k etc). Someone else correct me here, but as far as I was concerned, such details make no difference when the pedal is used as a volume pedal, but do when used as an expression pedal as different equipment requires different resistance. When used as a volume pedal, it is effectively an 'effect' pedal, sat in-line with other pedals and so (as is my experience), in this capacity ALL volume pedals function perfectly well with ALL instruments.
14. That's what I thought
15. By under offer, I assume we mean to collect? Just want to be sure this is 'FREE to a good home' as per site rulings... Cheers folks.
16. I see no reason it wouldn't work.
17. As the kind folk at Thunderfunk have put the tuner out on the front you're a bit stuck, u less you can use a drill to make a small hole along one edge of the rack and use a thin cable (like George L's) to connect them. Tuner out on the front!! Madness!
18. The LS-2 is the most useful pedal in the world - It does a million and one things. The swiss army knife of pedals...
19. To use the mute function you need to plug bass into the tuner, then the tuner output to the input on the amp (which is not ideal as the jack from the back of the tuner needs to come to the front of the amp) then press the mute button on the tuner. To use it more effectively (and what I used to do) connect it up with a non-muting style, so you plug bass into amp, then the tuner out from the amp goes to the input on the back of the tuner (so your bass signal does not use the tuner to reach the amp or cab) then use the mute button on the amp instead (or turn volume to zero if you do not have a mute switch).
20. Still no word on a winner???
21. Hmmmmm… Not sure I can help with the direct question, but I'd of thought an A/B box with volume pots for the inputs would of been a better option. In fact, the old trust Boss LS-2 will work a treat - 2 Inputs to 1 output with a separate volume pot for each input so you can balance them to match pre gig.
22. Traditionally I'd of said any of the RC or Jamman range were ideal. I guess it depends what you want from it, but I'm now using a TC Electronics Flashback delay! It's a great delay pedal, but with the bonus of being the most compact and all-round awesome looper. If you want built in beats etc then it's not for you, but I'd you just want sound on sound with later after layer then it's fantastic!
23. Lovely bass! Did this come from Bass Direct? I played an identical one in terms of finish a while back and thought it was excellent!
24. Hiss tends to be (in my experience) to be down to cabling & power lines... My set up has 2 paths of effects. Path 1 has much more cable involved than path B, and has more hiss. I've rearranged everything and it's simply down to long lengths of cable giving more chance for interference to be picked up. You say you are using short cables - they could be not so great quality, or, you could have one that's not great. After your battery experiment, it's worth swapping out 1 patch lead at a time to see if there is a guilty one. I doubt very much it has anything to do with the main socket etc as that would more likely be a hum than a hiss. Also worth moving the diago power supply away from the audio cables - just to ensure it isn't that. They are good units and tend to be fine in close proximity to audio leads - but I have seen not so well isolated ones! If you use a tweeter or an amp with some kind of presence or bright filter (like an EBS) then these will always amplify hiss as it is, in essence, a high frequency. My path A off effects can be made totally silent by turning the bright filter on my preamp off... Shep
