1. SOLD I have an SKB 4U rack case. This is from the US Roto series. Very lightweight even though its quite a large case. Seriously tough! One of these - http://www.gear4music.com/PA-DJ-and-Lighting/SKB-Roto-Rack-Rail-Case-4U/4Z6 Mine has been gigged and seen some action, as such is marked and scuffed but is in perfect structural condition, no drops, bangs, cracks etc. It basically looks how a new one would after being gigged for a while. 8 bolts included. Pics - I'm after £65 collected from Nottingham, which is a bloody bargain for an SKB Roto case. If you want it shipping, I'll stick it in some bubble wrap and you are welcome to arrange a courier to collect from me. Shep
2. What an awesome gig! Massive thanks to DanOwens for asking us to go play with them in Bolton - Apologies our 30 minute slot became an hour and a quarter (You did keep saying 1 more though!). What a wicked venue, great sound and brilliant vibe. Heres a vid of what was supposed to be our soundcheck, but then became the start of the show lol - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QkYDaECk3x4&feature=channel_video_title
3. I had one. It struggles to track treble heavy signals. Obviously the G string has more 'top' end than other strings. Also, any fret rattle and it stuffs the tracking as it takes the high frequency of the rattle then realises it can't reproduce it. To get even triggering you need to either add bass or preferably, roll off treble on your bass Pre (or with an EQ pedal before the octave if you play passive) and put it back after at the amp stage. You must also have a medium/high action to avoid any rattle (it's not uncommon for your G string to have a slightly lower action than other strings). Hope this helps.
4. This amp is great. IMHO, still the best of the MarkBass range. Part of me quite misses the low-mid balls this amp has. Glad you've managed to find a way to keep it bud!
5. String! We're far too upper class for that! We have a 99p tape measure from Wilkinsons
6. Agreed. At the moment, there is hardly enough interest/responses to make it worth booking. Maybe planning something bigger for next Feb or something is a better idea - hat would also give us time to find a suitable venue with multiple rooms far enough away from each other that sound doesn't travel - The school idea may work like it did in Surrey.
7. SOLD Hi folks, Up for sale is my awesome HD350. I had 2 of these until selling my 'spare' last month. It's still my number 1 favourite sounding bass amp of all time and have the tone I always longed for. I have recently done a huge remodelling of gear over the last few weeks due to the music I now play and I am moving to a Power amp/Pre amp setup using an EBS 1v2 Pre to keep the same tonal structure. A number of Basschatters have played though this and even used it live, all of which will hopefully vouch for the fact I keep my gear in top condition. I do not have a spare rack case to sell this with & as such it's just the amp, power lead & high quality Speakon-Speakon lead included. I'm not prepared to ship this due to not having sufficient packaging & it being heavy and valuable, as such I am asking a VERY reasonable £400 (SOLD) collected from Nottingham. I'm not interested in any amp or cab trades, nor bass trades (Unless it's a Roscoe!) but I may be nterested in part-ex/trade on the following... Moogerfooger Midi Murf Moogerfooger Analog Delay Any compact Moog Synth Moog Taurus Pedals Odd or interesting cymbals (Chopper, White Noise stuff etc) for my drummer NS Design NXT upright (4 or 5 string) Anything Eventide Also interested in compact Fuzz, Overdrive, Phaser, Tremolo & Envelope Filters (Must be no bigger than a Boss Pedal & powered off 9v) - I'll take a few to bring the price down! Shep
8. Phase is always an issue - Spent a looooooong time making sure the impact surface of those mics were all exactly the same distance from the speaker. Seemed to work!
9. Hey folks, Up for grabs is my EBS Neo 110. Awesome condition and a bloody stunning little cab. Very little use. I'm ideally after a part ex against a small practice combo for home use plus cash my way. Will consider straight swap on a slightly nicer combo etc. After something 'decent' but does not need to be gig worthy (EBS Session 60 is a perfect example) or may consider sale for £200 collected from Nottingham. Strictly no shipping. Pic below (just the cab up for grabs)... Shep
10. You are 100% correct. These are the best bass cans I've ever used. If I played in any kind of regular band where I wanted and solid 'bass' sound I wouldn't even consider it. Unfortunately, I play only in live drum & bass and dance music areas now and I'm basically playing pure sub and super highs, similar to that of night club PA systems. I dont actually use a clean bass tone anywhere within my music in fact - truth be told I coup probably sell my other HD350 and use a power amp! I'm therefore going for something quite specifically tailored to get more out of what I do and emphasise the frequencies that most bassists seek to remove.
11. Cheers Jazz! Whole rig is currently under offer pending a test drive this week. Shep
12.
Might try a reset, but everything else on my phone is fine... Edit - it is only posting and messaging that is slow. Browsing is ok
It's all fine for me. Have you cleared the cache since the site upgrade etc? I did that under general settings > safari and it seemed to sort mine out.
13. It's working perfect on my iPhone now. At least as quick as my MacBook. Woop!
14. It's the spec not the brand/make/model that becomes important. Make sure you check out the requirements of any stuff you want to run on it. I'm a Mac user, and so I'd push you towards a MacBook... But if you're set on a Laptop, I'll let others chip in. Give 51m0n a shout - He's the man for home recording etc.
15. Hey folks, This is just a feeler at the mo, to fund my lust for another cab that is a little more suited to the live Drum & Bass that I am not playing with 100% of my musical life. I have an EBS Neoline 212 with a fitted Roqsolid cover as well as an EBS HD350 with either EBS 2U rack case (matches the cab) or an SKB 4U deep X-case - You're choice which comes with it. As these are being sold to fund another cab, selling one without the other is absolutely no use to me so while I am prepared to sell to different people, I'm not parting with either unless I can get buyers for both. Neoline 212 with cover - £450 EBS HD350 with either rack case - £450 If you are interesting buying the pair as a rig (and believe me, thats one awesome setup!) I'm prepared to negotiate on price. Strictly no shipping. Too many bad experiences with shipping amps and cabs so prices are collection only, from Nottingham. Both in great condition - anyone that knows me will know how well I look after my gear. The 212 has been gigged, but kept in great condition, in its cover unless its being used. The HD350 is my 'spare' (yes, I have 2!) and has been kept in the rack and in my front room for practice since the day I bought it (2nd hand on Basschat, but it stunning condition) so it has never been gigged or pushed by me. Pictured below (Fafner no longer here and the tuner is not for sale)... Any questions please drop me a PM.
16. ALL SOLD! 1st up for grabs is one of my Buzz Electronics True Bypass Octo Loopers (I own 2, keeping one as they are very very good!). This is a standard 8-way true bypass looper, but was built for me with a few changes to the regular spec, as follows... •The 9v DC input, Audio In and Audio out jacks are all located on the back of the pedal (so it can be put up against other pedals and save space on a board - makes it 230mm left to right). •Pull-Down resistors added to reduce 'pop' (many folks say this makes no difference, but in my experience, it does). •The loops run 1-4 from Bottom right to bottom left, then 5-8 top right to top left. With all these ins and outs on the back its a serious squeeze so will only be suitable if you use straight jacks (as opposed to right angles) or compact jack plugs like George L's. It has 4 red LED's and 4 blue LED's. The back row of switches have been raised as well to make them easier to press. Very well made, built like a tank and a MUCH cheper alternative to a Carl Martin or GigRig unit. Only 3 months old and in the same condition as it was the day it was delivered to me, with the addition of some Velcro underneath. These retail at £94 on the BE website & £100 on eBay for the standard spec. I appreciate that a bypass looper this big is a bit of a niche though, so i'm prepared to take a loss and am asking [s]£[/s][s]60[/s] SOLD. Will consider most trades. Pics... And one for size comparison... Also up for grabs... BBE Crusher Distortion. SOLD Boss OC-3. SOLD Any questions, drop me a PM. Shep
17. It was a Big Twin T. I want too... You may see my EBS Neo212, Neo110 & spare HD350 going to fund that beast. Yes - pics please!!!!!!!
18.
Yeah I saw that same homemade LFO the other day when I was trying to find just a simple CV LFO.
Yeah I've seen it a few times. Looks interesting. I know I've said it a million times, but keep eyes open for a 2nd hand MP-201 (now it's been discontinued!) - Even just as an LFO generator its the best in the World! I've seen them go 2nd hard for £200 on eBay - I bet the pedal in the vid would cost you over £100.
quick clip of me messing with the source audio bef pro with an expression pedal (somewhat over-judiciously ) i'm still getting to grips with it, but hopefully you get the idea. the portamento/fuzz sound comes from the octavius squeezer (trapezoid wave). i had to be gentle with the o.s. as it is prone to glitching. http://soundcloud.co...sinator/clip1-2
Thats sounds amazing dude - Really really good. Get Karizma to drop a vocal on that loop and you got a Dubstep single!
19.
I'll make it if i can. I might even check the intonation before coming this time!
Yeah course you will!
20. I don't have the separate tracks at the mo, but when I do I'll happily send them to you. If you have any examples of the sounds your talking about I'd be interested to hear them. If we had decided to release the track as the instrumental version I certainly would of done more with it - But obviously the vocals have become the focal point for the release.
