1. Yes and no, I have a few tone sucking pedals, but that shouldn't effect it at all. If you have the LS-2 set to A/B mode and listen to the volume of A, then change the setting to A+B mix the volume of channel A should not change unless you turn the volume down, but it does. You can dial B to zero, so in either mode all you should be hearing is A, yet there is a volume/tonal shift between the settings.
2. Awesome remix. Much better than the original (I do like Dubstep & Grime though). Love it dude. Now if you learn to play it all live like that on your bass I'll like it even more!
3. Hey folks - We just finished the mix & master of our new EP and its just gone live... http://www.ourhelicalmind.bandcamp.com/album/analogftw This one features the MC talents of Duke01 & Non-Thespian and is a big step forwards to us. Pretty happy with the mix as well. We did this all live as a 2-piece. If its not a drum beat, it was me, on bass, with no overdubs or samples etc. If you like music light and jazzy, stay away. lol Shep
4. I only own 2 now, plus an Ashbory. Both basses get played lots, the fretless a little more than the fretted. The Ashbory not so much, but I'll definitely go back to it. Shep
5. Yeah I run octave before it (So I have a constant sub), nothing in 1 loop, 8 pedals in the other, then output at my modulation effects. I'd expect the side with 8 pedals to loose a little output, but that's fine, it's the fact that there is a drop then you compare the isolated channel to itself on a different setting. Shep
6. Started experiencing a strange issue with my Boss LS-2. I have historically used this in the A/B mode to switch between presets and back quickly. No problems here. Recently I've been using it more as a parallel splitter in A+B mix mode, however I have noticed some strange shifts in tone and volume. I would assume that in A+B mix mode yo would hear all of the A sound and all of the B sound and then adjust volume to taste... However, if you have it in A/B then turn to A+B mix, you can hear a noticeable drop in volume of both channels. In fact if you turn the B volume to Zero and flick between the 2 settings, this should surely make no difference to the sound at all, but there is a volume drop out. There also seem to a be a slight loss of clarity - minor, and maybe just due to the volume drop, but the over tone in mix mode seems to be a little more undefined. Anyone else use the LS-2 much and experienced similar? If I was just using one mode it wouldn't be a huge issue, but as I switch between setting during a gig the shifts in volume become a slight issue.
7. A Basschat double bill… In Bolton Dan_Owens and the Broken Door are putting on a show, Friday 30th @ The Dog & Partridge/Bolton Live and my 2-piece D&B act, Our Helical Mind will be supporting. We're bringing a long a couple of awesome MC's (Duke01 & Karizma) as well for a surprise set. Be there!!
8. OK guys, odd request here... Any of you fine folks from, or around the Bristol area? I have a bass I would like to get from the bash on Saturday to a fellow Basschatter in Bristol and they can't make it to the bash due to having a gig. It'd just be a case of taking it home and they'd collect from you… I'll happily buy you a pint and a curly whirly for your time Shep
9. Certainly going to be 'interesting'! I tend to run the ring mod after LPF - seems to be against what most folk do, but it works for me!
10. No, one of the slicer patterns is a deep tremolo with those beeps added up top. Its the only pattern that has anything like that in it. That track is bass - Phaser - Chorus - amp (distortion added on one section) and then the slicer added to that intro groove. Basically its a modulation nightmare where the waveform is concerned. Most slicer patterns are designed to run at 120bpm and above and slowing them down makes them all sound a bit similar, however the odd one sounds rather interesting when you slow it down… Like that one!
11.
Had a listen. Excellent stuff! A bit different from what I was expecting but very catchy & great sounds. I really like that pingy blippy sound on Barcode Babble, how do you get that?
Cheers dude. Only BigDug is traditionally in 'our' style, although The Threat Of Reason is a very very different track with regards to feel if you take the vocals off. Heres a link to the instrumental version - http://soundcloud.com/ourhelicalmind/the-threat-of-reason-1 As for Barcode Babble - Thats all Boss Slicer over that section (Bank 3, preset 6, running at 80bpm).
12.
Ah right, I guess that field isn't visible in the thread view? Sorry!
Yeah, its a tad confusing. Still trying to figure out what does and doesn't show where etc...
13. £90 posted He's entered the price in the 'tags' section - which used to be the subtitles section. All this new layout stuff eh! I've edited.
14.
My guess would be that it sounds OK?
Oh Dear lol I've not heard or seen any samples of it on bass either so I'm interested too...
15. It's here folks... http://ourhelicalmin...album/analogftw Hope you like. Anyone interested in the instrumentals of the tracks with vocals, drop me a PM. I'm particularly happy with 'The Threat Of Reason'
