1.
did you get it sold ?
Hi, yes - sold now. Cheers.
2. Sold, pending payment.
3. Cheers fellas, I reckon it's a fair price, bearing in mind I bought the bugger two years ago for £850. As PMs have pointed out to me, it's not in the best of nick. But if I sold it for any less, I'd lose a couple of happy sacks. I like to be honest about these things. so I wanted to do a nice deal with fellow bass players. Not here to rip anyone off - which is why I posted pics that show the crack in all it's glory (although I do think they show it up in scary microscopic detail - it doesn't look that bad in the flesh).
4. Had a couple of offers. I know this bass is damaged but I think £500 is a fair price, seeing as good used Sterlings go for £650 to £700. I'm prepared to go down to £450 but no more than that.
5. Replied. Thanks for the trade offers, folks - unfortunately, I need to sell. Cheers, Steve
6. Hi folks, I'm selling my Musicman Sterling. It has a lovely sound and plays like a dream, but I've realised active basses aren't for me. It comes with: * A Hipshot D-Tuner - I've kept the original peg and can refit this if you like. * Bronze strap locks - again, I've kept the originals. * Musicman hard case. About six months ago, I made the mistake of leaning the bass on a chair and running for the phone. It slid onto the floor - and now there's a crack running below the bridge to the backplate - as you can see in the pictures. There's also a bit of a ding. I've never had this happen to a bass before, so I don't know whether it can be fixed or improved. Maybe some of you with experience of repairs might know? So, in view of the condition, I'd like to sell this for £500. If you want me to deliver, I think it will be around £25 extra. Cheers, Steve Some pics - and some more here.
7.
On the plus side, I've just noticed I've been upgraded to 'Very Advanced Member'. Member?...fnar, fnarr
Should I laugh at that? I'm quite proud of being a fully fledged member.
8. Ultimately, the moderators control all and can decide which threads stay or go. Moral perspectives are subjective. But I do get the impression some are going a bit far with trying to show their 'right on' credentials. For me, there's been no harm in any of it. No abuse, porn or debasement. Just a bunch of musicians bantering and indulging in a bit of bawdy humour in an off topic forum. Like a lot of films or tv programmes: if you don't like it, don't watch it.
9. Fancy a quick pluck, baby?
10. Eh? Eh? Don't get many o' them to the pound! Cor!
11. Phwoooarr! Look at the frets on that!
12. Bump. Fruity pedal, grit to grrr. £35 including postage.
13. Here's one reason why it's Ampeg for me.
14. Nice, very very nice - great video too. I'd fall for these amps in a big way if they weren't orange. Superficial, I know.
15.
I know someone who would be interested. Would you recommend this to an overenthusiastic 15 year old metalhead who just wants GAIN up the arse?
Most definitely. Plug into this little puppy, and he'll s**t himself.
16. Just found a video demo of the pedal on bass - pretty sick distortion.
17. They look like they've covered themselves in glue and run through Widow Twannkey's dressing room.... ... but what is this gorgeous bass? Love the sound too: crisp, crunchy and meaty.
18.
Yeah I noticed that and was very surprised Also, £90 posted for this thing, with the original tin, sample settings, etc.?! This is a steal, surely. Maybe people are getting pretty serious about holding out for the VT Bass Deluxe?
Hi there - yeah, you could be right about the deluxe version. I'm just selling cos I have an Ampeg and Sansamp, so I don't really need it - plus I need the cash. Also, I imagine the deluxe version will be a lot more expensive. Thanks for noticing me!

Octave

I use an EBS Octabass which is really good. Can't really think of many songs with octavers in the bass at the moment - Sledgehammer is one. Trevor Horn playing Close to the Edit live at the Prince's Trust is another - amazing sound on that. Anyone got a link?
