*SOLD* POD X3 LIVE for sale - Price Drop
mildmanofrock replied to mildmanofrock's topic in Effects For Sale

Hi folks, This is an excellent DI/Effects unit. I found it superior to the Sansamp Bass Driver as it has sweepable mid controls. I've used it live and in the studio, and loved the three-dimensional quality it gave to my tone. It's great for guitar too. It's in very good condition (no major marks) and comes complete with the box (a little bit tatty) and booklet. New, one of these would set you back about £200. It's yours for £120 posted. Thanks! Steve

Hi, I'm selling my POD X3 Live. It works perfectly and I'll be sorry to see it go. It includes:

98 stompbox and studio effects
28 bass amp models
22 bass cab models
78 guitar amp models
24 guitar cab models
6 vocal preamp models
I found that connecting it to a power amp and using the amp models (if you wish) make it an excellent preamp. And it sounds great clean. For example, I sometimes just used a little EQ and compression, so the pure sound of my bass came through at gigs. If you just want the effects, it's easy to switch off the amp and cab models. So then you have a unit that's packed with quality effects - and for a fraction of the price of buying individual pedals. Plus there's a 'dual tone' feature that's great for blending your effected and uneffected tones (e.g. to keep your low frequencies) - or to blend multiple effects, if you so choose. Its 1/4 inch and XLR outputs also make it easy to hook up to your amp or studio interface. Also included are the power supply and manual. There are no major marks and everything works perfectly. I've also written some notes in the manual. £120 posted within the UK. I'll wrap, secure and post it (UK only) in the original box (which is a bit tatty now). You can find more information, including a full list of features, here: http://line6.com/legacy/podx3live And here's a video of the lower-spec 'bean' version: Thanks! Bass player dep required urgently for Wiltshire based working band

With you on the 40 thing. Depressing. -
I believe Paul also plays in a Reading-based band called The Dark Sinatras. They're nothing like Jamiroquai - a sort of avant-garde, more aggressive King Crimson. http://www.reverbnation.com/thedarksinatras

Strange thing to post. I think they look superb.

Barefaced Midget, Aguilar DB112, Berg HD/CN112....
mildmanofrock replied to aj5string's topic in Amps and Cabs
Yes, I'm sure all the cabs do have their own colouration. I should have said that the colouration, to my ears, seems markedly less compared to other cabs - which, for me, is a good thing. -

Very true - they're built like a tank with an excellent and durable finish. I think players who don't get on with Barefaced are those who are used to cabinets colouring their sound. To me, Barefaced cabs seem to give out what you put in - and because of that (and their sound dispersion), they work brilliantly in a band setting. -
Mostly I think that they look cheap and nasty. Both on stage and up close. Don't look, or feel, to have the build quality of lots of other brands. Also a lot of people whose opinions I respect have had real issues with them tonally. I realise I shouldn't just rely on third party comments but sometimes you just hear things from people who seem to really know their stuff and have to have to give them some credence. When you don't like the look of something and you hear they it doesn't sound great it tends to colour your opinions a fair bit
Each to their own, etc., but this surprises me. They're the clearist, loudest and punchiest cabs I've ever used. -

Hi, I'm gutted about selling this amazing cab. With no gigs for the foreseeable future, I can't justify having it at the moment. But another of these will be in my sights if the situation changes. This cab is immense - rich, clear and loud across the whole frequency spectrum, with warm lows, defined mids and sparkling highs. It's impressively sensitive too, providing all the volume you might ever need. There's also a tweeter dial to adjust the high end to taste. I simply can't fault it. I've played through some big cabs over the years, (Ampeg, Hartke, Aguilar) - and this not only keeps up with them - it excels in sound dispersion, allowing you to hear yourself wherever you are on stage. I've only played it at one gig. And at that gig, I had a handful of audience members complimenting me on my sound. It's fully played in (primed to unleash all its lows), in immaculate condition and comes with a Roqsolid cover. I’m looking for £700 firm collected from me in Swindon, Wiltshire - or we can meet halfway if it's within a reasonable distance. Or I can deliver it at your expense - but I'd really prefer collection or a meet up. Thanks for looking! Steve
Give him a break, hes getting on a bit. I think he does pretty good
Yeah, fair play to him, he does alright, does Ged. -

Old Geddy's voice seems a bit weird these days. Almost like a squawk before he hits notes proper. -
Quick effects loop/XLR balanced output question
mildmanofrock replied to mildmanofrock's topic in Repairs and Technical
'Post EQ' generally includes the effects loop but I don't know specifically for the DB751
Thanks! -
Hi folks, I wondered if you could help me? I'm planning to link my Pod X3 Live to an Aguilar DB751 via the amp's effects loop. The amp has an XLR balanced output with a 'post EQ' option. Do you know if, using this option, a soundman would get the POD-effected signal? Or would they just get the amp's EQ and nothing else? If the soundman only gets the EQ, with no effects, I'd have to give them a line from my POD. Which would be a shame, as I'd prefer them to receive the richer tone from the amp. I appreciate that micing my cab is a solution, but I don't always have this option. Thank you! Steve
