1. I'd lend you my DI box... if I had one
2.
He doesn't sound that amazing to be honest.
hah, well he is. He's playing at grade 8 level, practical and at least grade 5 theory, not sure. he just doesn't have perfect pitch.
3.
iamapirate - I do have a couple of used Phono - MiniJack leads. Both are around 4 metres. They have metal jacks (gold plated on the phonos). One of the phono jacks is slightly damaged - the round section that slips onto the female socket is divided into four parts (as is usual with these). One of these four parts has broken off. Hope that makes sense. WIth that in mind, both leads will be a fiver.
ok, could you get any pics of them?
4.
I sit there and plonk randomly around on my bass until something fits.
No joke, an amazing keyboard player that I usually play with, to find keys, just starts chromatically up until he finds the key that rings int his ear! and I didn't realise this until he said it! I just thought it was jazz...
5. I'll probably take the hub. I'll decide tomorrow morning when I'm not DEAD and do you have any phono to mini jack leads? The ones for connecting iPods, laptops, etc to hifis and aux inputs?
6. Jack Daniels bass!!! sorry, back on topic now...
7. haha, it' sextra funny readin this thread if you name's actually josh.... like me.... *awkward*
8. The overdrive, the guy just had a typo moment I think :/
9.
Are the gaps between the slats big enough to get patch cables through?
by the oooks of the done up one, yes. But if it doesn't then it'll be a job for the circular hand file!
10. Not really. I know most of the stuff above and it's just about realising the names of the chords (and actually, it's easier than that - usually just if they're major or minor) and then seeing which 'key' or major scale uses them. And then if it's a sad song, call it minor and move what key you thought it was down 3 semitones. simples and yes I did edit it just to say simples
11. To help teach me to play bass at intermediate level. I've been playing bass guitar for 3 years, and before that cello for 5 years, although 90% of the theory that I learnt from my classical years has gone and died. I like to play rock, funk, hard rock. I already play in my church (kings church Eastbourne http://www.kingschurch.eu ). I can't read music as 80% of the time I'm given chord charts and the other 20% is just picking up chords by ear (which I can do OK). I'm not really too picky on genres, I'd happily have a tutor who's into pop or acid jazz. Just nothing heavy metal, thanks. I goto college in Lewes, so I COULD go as far as Brighton, but I'd rather not have to because of travel costs etc!
12. what do you mean by 'passive'. just that it only works with passive basses? Also, how old is the model and how old is your product? I'm reallly interested in this - I got no funk on my board at the moment!
13. OK, so it's not actually ME, but it's my (former) bass teacher who I fill in for on occasions! EDIT pic should be working now
14. I just think that people put 'PM'd' to rack up their post count!
15. Cor! You've been selling this for nearly a year now! Maybe the 'bay is the place to go?
16.

You ought to be more worried about the drummer's face in that one

18. np, mate. take your time! I hope I was first in!

20. Before he touches a string, grab the guitarist's amp and superglue it to 5 on the master volume
21. PM'd re: hartke a good few hours ago, forgot to post it (definitely PM'd before bassman as I left Bedford at quarter to 8 and I PM'd before that)
22. Compressors iron out those notes that occassionally boom, so you never really notice them working. I just have a little compression on my amp always on. It does affect your tone, but it also keeps things like my pedals in check, so, for example, my bass micro synth gets louder as it gets lower (as I like extra bass on my pedals so it gets louder), and it just quietens the pedal down a bit and levels it out. If I had the money I'd put each pedal in it's own bypass loop with a compressor/limiter for each pedal to tune it for each pedal. But I'm fresh outa cash
23. Welcome there! have funn... Get out while you still can
