  1. So we've got a great opportunity to get some pro quality video footage, and we need to knock together a video to put on for a large video wall behind the stage for each of the 3 songs. Does anyone have any good examples of music videos featuring similar kinds of backdrops, need some inspiration! Our music is noisy alt rock but I guess genre doesn’t particularly matter. We don’t have long to create them so can’t be too ambitious. Probably something along the lines of this setup:
  2. Set the down footswitch to control Octave on/off but use an assign to change div2 channel. It’s a little silly but results in a more intuitive message. It’s annoying you can’t manually set the label.
  3. It’s a standard P neck width to my knowledge. Definitely a pretty wide angle lens there, certainly warped.
  4. For more info look up EMG BTC and there should be a manual available 🙌
  5. @Jamison I might be misunderstanding but the 2 dip switches (see picture) will adjust the treble response. You can have it as more of a mids control or a treble/presence control depending on which is selected.
  6. Have you tried tweaking the treble frequency? There are two dip switches that let you tweak how it behaves that might give you a little extra mileage. Personally as great as the EMGs look with the brushed metal finish I prefer the sound of Dimarzio model p with the Stellartone. My biggest discovery was that I just don’t think the P bass is right for me. I much prefer the sound of PJ or Jazz. Really tempted to pop an MM style Turner multicoil in the bridge, or a Dimarzio relentless PJ.
  7. The WB100 is absolutely incredible! I’m in love with mine ❤️
  8. @SamIAm that looks like a fun project! Yeah even if you couldn’t add/remove on the device but you could traverse all the plugins in the chain sequentially like on the Boss to tweak it’d be a great improvement. Perhaps if the new swap functionality is implemented you’d be able to switch compatible effects. All feels like a really long way off achieving something as complex as that give how thinly stretched they are.
  9. The Boss GT1000core is a great example of being able to manage relatively complex signal chains. It’s a lot more linear than the MOD UI but still supports 3 parallel signal blocks/chains. I think something similar could work well for MOD although I do think it’d need to be somewhat restricted to be more linear. The CV stuff would be tricky.
  10. Best of 2023: Jad Freer Capo - Just an incredible versatile preamp. EAE Halberd - Built for guitar but works great on bass, fairly transparent but you can really push it hard into think chewy fuzz territory. Handbox WB100 - Didn’t think anything would dethrone the 40kg VBA400 but this did a great job and only weighs about 15kg. Yamaha BB734 - Traded for it with the intention of modding it with Wal style pickups and onboard preamp but absolutely love the sound so it’s staying as is! Notable mentions: EAE Dagger v2 - Great little distortion but didn’t stand out as much as the Halberd to my surprise. Schecter J4 - Great bass, fun to play and sounded great, the BB734 is just a little better for the sounds I’m after. MOD Dwarf - Not the easiest to get to grips with but so interesting and capable of so much. No bad purchases, the Lusithand GnP wasn’t for me but it’s a great pedal.
  11. Tbh I have a sort of awkward pair of pedalboards, a RB duo 2.1 and tres 3.0 which are both the wrong size for my essentials gig board so maybe the spaceship power is a necessary purchase in some warped GAS-fuelled sense of reality.
  12. That’s super handy @pslh! I really liked the Tim Ray, it works great with the OCD copy and the Boobtube plugin (despite the cringy name). In fact the OCD (OJD?) was one of my faves apart from its high CPU usage, I suspect it’s a poorly optimised port. Super impressed with the Dwarf. I think one of the biggest issues is the ecosystem, effects are really missing ratings and categorisation so it’s so hard to find what you want. Theres a lot of time investment in trial and error before you can really get anywhere. I was trying to find a RAT style drive and ended up having to audition 20 drives to find something close. Also a simplified board that could be edited on-device would help too!
  13. Aye that makes a lot of sense, nano models are a lot less intensive on cpu. MOD have the AIDA Cloud site too for sharing although there’s a lot more on their forums. https://cloud.aida-x.cc/all MOD Have a beta desktop version of their ecosystem to try too which is a great way to get a feel for what it can do.
  14. Does the Beebo support upload of models yet or is it still locked to what’s provided?
  15. Mod supports NAM but the main technology it uses is AIDA-X which is a little more streamlined and tailored to lower power pedals vs laptop/desktops. Worth noting the Dwarf only supports nano nam files presently.
  16. Ahhhh yeah I watched this about 10 times when trying to decide if I should order the Capo. Great demo. I think the thing that sold me in the end was a mix of this and seeing it used for lots of more aggressive tones too. So much versatility. I do wish the B side had a little more of the valve-like compression going. It’s the one thing it doesn’t really have that I love about some other preamps.
  17. That looks like an excellent setup! Would love to try the bassrig at some point but it’s hard to justify another getting a new preamp when I have a capo!
  18. Really liked the GK Fusion S, one of the prettiest amp I’ve used too. Valve preamp section, still sounds like a GK but a little more natural warmth.
  19. Compressor - Lusithand Alma (just fantastic, I dial in a lot of cleans for a more subtle effect but doesn’t feel like the attack suffers quite like some other comps I’ve tried) Flanger - Boss BF-3 (I’ve not tried many but the Boss just sounded good from the start) Octaver - Boss OC5 (Great tracking and super flexible, would love to hear some other octavers like the COG stuff although it’s not a sound I use much) Drive - EAE Halberd v2 (Incredibly flexible drive that works great as an always on or full on in your face chewy fuzz) Preamp - Jad Freer Capo (The one pedal can’t imagine being without, perfect for any situation) Multi - Mod Dwarf (Sounds absolutely incredible as an all-in-one, allows you to create some really unique sounds that other multi fx just wouldn’t come close to. That comes with caveats around the interface that, for me, mean it’s more of a desktop tool)
  20. Well I’ve had my Dwarf up for sale for a while now since getting the GT1000core. Had another play on it earlier just to try a few things, it sounds incredible. Think I might just hang onto it and keep it plugged in on my desk permanently. The AIDA-X showcase is excellent, I plugged my guitar in and it instantly sounded better than my GT1000 guitar patch. Looking forward to see what they do with a dedicated Bass preamp plugin, I know it’s in the works but curious if they’ll go the tried and tested SVT route or perhaps something more modern. That being said there’s something great about being able to stitch the different preamps and tube emulations together to create something more personalised. I managed to get really close to the sound from the Capo. Previously I’d have said drives were a weak point for me on the Dwarf but the new Rude drive is incredible. So yeah still weighing it up but essentially the GT1000 stays because I can hook it into my existing bass pedalboard and add effects where I want between and around my dedicated pedals. The Dwarf definitely sounds better and is way more flexible, it’s just not really suitable for a place on my board due to connectivity. I think just for the reverbs and delays though it’s worth keeping, you can do some pretty amazing stuff which I thought I could emulate on the Core but no bueno.
  21. Ahhh yeah always go with warranty, probably a bad joint or something.
