  1. I’ve been playing Riot by The Jesus Lizard all week 🔥
  2. What compressor are people using on the gt1000? I’m always surprised how good the Boss Comp and X-Comp bass sound once dialled in.
  3. I love it but to be honest I’ve had to turn it off at rehearsals and gigs because I have loads of squash and saturation coming from my Halberd drive and tube amp. It’s a shame because it’s excellent and now the mk2 is out the price has hiked but I’m trying to be strict with myself!!!
  4. I can’t justify that only 1 out of my 4 basses is a Yamaha BB… I did see a pretty nice white 1024x on Facebook 🤔
  5. Absolutely fantastic compressor based on the Dimond comp with some refinements. I’m gonna regret getting rid as it’s pretty special but I don’t need a compressor on my current board so it’s gotta go 🥲 Loads of glowing reviews of this comp, it’s certainly my favourite I’ve tried although I’ve never had a Cali76. A bargain price of £125! Can post at buyers expense (usually around £8 tracked)
  6. Great little wallet/space friendly fx loop with blend. Useful for dialling in some clean blend, especially when using multiple drives where stacked clean blends start to just sound muddy. Just generally a handy utility to have available. All fully functional, few small chips in paint on the corners but generally good condition. Price includes UK postage.
  7. Excellent little utility pedal, really useful for practice or popping at the beginning of the chain so you can loop your bass while you dial in settings. Got a multifx unit with a looper built in so don’t really need this. Price includes postage in the UK
  8. Had this DI sat around for ages currently not getting used as I use the Capo for all things DI now. Amazing quality for the size and price, noticeable improvement over the cheaper DI boxes and perfect to mount on a pedalboard, IMO this DI is the pivot point from which diminishing returns kick in. I actually managed to fit it under a Rockboard tres 3.0 board 🙌 Postage available at buyers expense.
  9. First things first, this pedal is excellent but just not what I need right now. For anyone who hasn't heard about it, it's designed to emulate Justin Chancellor's main drive tone in a single pedal, a modded RAT with EQ and a clean blend (possibly one of the best clean blends I've heard). That being said it's capable of way more than that, it can get add a really nice warm saturation all the way up to searing tight fuzz tones. For more checkout the Lusithand website. It's an excellent pedal which I'd love to keep but it's not quite right for the band and therefore I can't justify keeping it. These are £215 I believe so save yourself some cash! Boxed and postage can be arranged at buyers expense. Here's great a review @0175westwood29
  10. Back in the GT1000core club! Posted in Post your pedalboard already but included a diagram of how it’s configured with my other effects: Looking forward to getting in and creating some patches! Was thinking of having a play with assigns to see if I can do some eased volume changes via footswitches and stuff. If work out something useful I’ll post it up here.
  11. I was looking at the 1024/1024x there weren't any in the area and as superficial as it seems I really like the fretboard markers on the 734 😂
  12. Yeah its a truely remarkable bit of kit, I think it goes well beyond my needs. I think the big selling point for me was how much flexibility there is to go off the beaten track, rather than just being full of various Tube Screamer clones etc it has some really unique stuff in there. For me the reverbs and delays are where this really shines, if I was more familiar with synths I'm sure I'd be blown away by the functionality there too. The mastering plugin which is included in incredible too. As for the FX loops I did use the 2 channels as FX loops and it was great, for me I just found having 2 dedicated fx loops along with the in/output was a must but I'm aware it's incredibly convoluted 😂 I'd love to keep it if I could justify having it but at the moment anything that doesn't sit on my board is up for the chop 😭
  13. Not the biggest board but certainly plenty complicated 😂 Signal path is easiest shown in a diagram, pedals aren't quite the same but same idea: This means I can get the Pre and Post DI signals from the capo while essentially having my analog pedals and the Capo preamp section as moveable blocks within the GT1000core. It's a little convoluted but means I can put the GT anywhere I want in the chain (except between my drive pedals) and have the option to apply cabsims through the DI while keeping my amp signal without.
  14. Ahh ok that makes sense, I guess more accurate would be that it saves me the hassle of charging batteries in that case! Good to know, tbh it’s kind of handy having it there as a kill switch with a dead battery in like how I got it 😂
  15. Well another update, the BB734 is incredible. Pretty much just using it in passive mode currently as active seems like a waste of battery when I’m using it flat anyways. It’s nice to have an active preamp that sounds identical when flat to when bypassed too. Action isn’t quite as low as I’d like it but still pretty good, better than my Schecter P4. Fret work is great and I actually don’t mind the fretboard radius despise all my other basses being very flat in comparison. While the painted neck feels great I’m still not onboard with the look but gonna give it some time before I make a rash decision. Very happy overall, just wish I’d got one sooner and saved myself some time and money!
  16. The second hand market is out of control 😂
  17. Aye variety is great, can’t like everything! Yeah got the GNP currently on my board as my main drive. I wouldn’t say it was a overly high gain sound but more noisy I’m shooting for. For drives I’m running the GNP into the EAE Halberd which provides a baseline level of grit and clank, a little similar to a Rusty Box. That goes into the JF Capo which does some EQ and a sprinkle of special sauce. I think first ever drive for bass was some a big muff, it’s only the last few years I’ve really gotten into drives/effects.
  18. Good video but not really feeling the pedal. The drive pedal market is so saturated (chortle) that they really need to be really good to stick out. All subjective but for me there are just too many pedals that do the clean blend better like Damnation Audio stuff and the Lusithand Ground n Pound etc.
  19. Well I picked up the 734 today. First impressions are excellent! Replaced the bridge with a Babicz I got cheap and added some new strings, gave it a rough set up and now it sounds very clear and punchy. Way more natural growl there than I expected too. My original plan was to pops couple of multicoil humbucker pickups in for a Wal vibe. I actually like it too much to deface it so think I’ll just make a new body, not too far off the Amos Heller custom with those so I can always switch back if I want the original. That’ll take time to get sorted, until then this is my new favourite bass! Jury is still out on the painted neck, it feels way better than expected although still think I’d prefer cosmetically if it was natural wood on the back. In no hurry to sand it down or anything though.
  20. Very cool unit which really really stands out from other modellers with its open source approach and LV2 plugin architecture. Add to that the AIDA-X profiling/capturing of fx pedals/amps and convolution reverbs available (included). Ill pop a full list of included premium plugins when I get chance but includes a convolution reverb pack, JCMV AIDA-X amp sim, mastering plugin and a range of other drives and modulation plugins. Shame to let it go as I’ve had a lot of fun playing with this. It really does do the whole rig in a box thing, it just doesn’t integrate with my existing pedalboard quite as well as I’d hoped with the lack of integrated fx loops. For people who want to geek out and create something off the beaten track. Comes with carry case and power supply etc. Can ship at buyers expense. Message with any questions! £300 flash sale for this weekend (spotted more shiny things I want)
  21. Ahhhh I wish I could grab this but just don’t have the funds right now!
  22. If it sounds good on paper! One thing I would say is while the multiband processing is an awesome feature it’s definitely worth getting a simple linear chain up and running first if you’re struggling. I got carried away with it when I first got mine and while it was fun, I think it got in the way a little. From there it should be much more obvious where the multiband stuff would be beneficial. The 200/250hz overlap sounds good but I’d just see how it sounds, the roll off is pretty subtle so you might find that it’s a pretty big boost to the lower frequencies.
  23. I’ve always loved the look of the 734a, the matte black, the shape of the inlays and the design on the headstock. I’m currently playing in a pretty noisy rock band at the mo, mostly with pick. I love the tone of my Schecter J bass but just really struggle getting the action where I want it compared to my bass with a multi laminate neck. Hoping the 734 fairs a little better in this regard. How have people found the neck/action?
