  1. The blurb: The Electronic Audio Experiments Longsword is yet another contender in the endless void of op-amp based drive pedals—familiar but with some novel twists. Cascaded gain stages allow for the full range from clean boost to massive distortion, all without sacrificing tonal flexibility. The equalizer combines bass and treble shelving filters with an active, frequency-selectable midrange boost/cut control. This lets the user sculpt a diverse array of tones and carve out a niche in even the most dense of mixes. The Longsword has a broad frequency response which makes it work equally well with guitar, baritone, and bass. I know I’m going to regret this but I’ve just got too much gain on my board right now. I can’t really make up my mind if I like the Ground n Pound or the Longsword the most but the GNP is newer and therefore gets to stay. This is an absolute beast of a distortion but also capable of some very subtle grit. I suspect if it sells I’ll probably miss it and pickup it’s smaller cousin Dagger v2. Used but immaculate with original box. Local pickup or buyer pays postage.
  2. Dunno about ampeg specialist but Sound Service in Castleford have always been recommended to me.
  3. Tbf I’ve never played the 734 or seen one in real life so I might feel differently when I get my hands on it. I’ve never enjoyed painted necks but then they’ve often been more glossy so perhaps the matte finish is going to change my mind! Nice idea with the pick guard👌I love the matte black pick guard on my Schecters.
  4. Yeah it seems like such a waste. I’m still confused as to why the 734a is only available with a painted neck too, sure some people like that but I’ve always hated it especially when it has such a nice neck to show off. I’m possibly going to trade for a 734a but I’ll be sanding the paint off the neck pretty swiftly!
  5. This is beautiful 🥲 https://yamahaguitardevelopment.com/2023/10/26/yamaha-guitar-development-custom-shop-amos-heller/
  6. New addition with the Lusithand Ground & Pound means all new layout. How much dirt is too much? So far enjoying it, intended to replace the Longsword if I liked it more but jury’s out so figured it just get the lot on there 🙌
  7. I’d assume Amp is just a regular output, just an odd choice of label. You can daisy chain one or multiple pedals if you have a power supply that has the connections. Just make sure they’re all the 9v and presumably centre negative. Daisy chaining pedals is fine but as you start introducing more you may start to notice more noise etc which is usually where a more fancy isolated power supply comes in handy. It really depends on the specific pedals and supply etc though.
  8. Exceptional recreation of the IVP preamp and Harmonic Percolator inspired by Steve Albini. This is absolutely killer on guitar, particularly the Harmonic Percolator fuzz circuit. It actually sounds fantastic on bass but just not enough to dethrone my Model Fet for the tone I want. Very cool pedal, incredible build quality and super versatile. I’d hang onto it if I played guitar more but can’t afford to keep stuff I’m not actively using on my board right now. Price includes UK shipping https://www.andertons.co.uk/guitar-dept/guitar-pedals/fuzz-pedals/electronic-audio-experiments-dude-incredible-v2
  9. I usually just have my LPF on the Capo which is more than sufficient for live/rehearsals. When I’m at home going straight through headphones I sometimes use the free Shiftline IRs for a little more warmth. I bought some York Audio Ampeg 810 IRs which sound great but still always end up going back to the freebies.
  10. I really like the Baer ML cab which has a 6” mid driver instead of a typical tweeter, never gets overly hissy and cuts through great. Just need a second to cut through with our obscenely loud drummer. I do also have a LPF on my Capo preamp enabled though. I also loved the Barefaced cabs with tweeters, again just sounded clear without being shrill even with distortion. The EBS and Ashdown cabs I’ve used at rehearsal pretty much always have them set at the lowest setting though.
  11. Haha I thought it was around 300, not that it’d be cheap but cheaper than owning a power amp and a separate full head I guess 😂
  12. The Capo is the one pedal I can imagine using in any context or genre. Very interested in the Coda although the Handbox WB100 really is sublime. My reason for Sisma over the Coda would be redundancy for not a lot extra. Going into the Sisma fx return should be virtually the same as going into the Coda.
  13. Pretty tempted by the ground and pound, can’t imagine it dethroning the Longsword even with the clean blend though 😬
  14. Its an awesome little box, easily the most versatile preamp I’ve used. I like to use it in conjunction with other preamps for more noisy stuff but it’s always there, for anything cleaner or even a little added grit I’ve found it perfect by itself though. As soon as I disable it the tone becomes noticeably flatter and looses some sparkle. Would love to know how you get on!!! Enjoy!
  15. Ahhh missed the bit about the 2nd band being backline only.
  16. I thought they had a PA so it’s purely for onstage monitoring? I skimmed the thread so may have missed something.
  17. If you like how your Zoom pedal sounds through the PA then just grab a DI and pop an active speaker on stage as a monitor. It’s the cheapest and most convenient option by far. If that doesn’t work maybe go and try some amps and cabs etc. (Based on reading between your two threads) Personally I love having an amp and cab on stage, it’s a total luxury though and totally unnecessary with my pedalboard setup which sounds excellent straight through the DI.
  18. The new Rude drive is excellent on bass. It’s one of the first digital distortions I’ve tried that sounded great out of the box, almost captures the sound of my favourite EAE Longsword pedal.
  19. PS if you do decide it isn’t for you and want to sell it let me know, I miss it 😂
  20. It’s a great unit, waaaaay lower latency and the 2 fx loops make it incredibly pedalboard friendly. I found the preamps just aren’t as good as I can get out of the Dwarf, especially with the AIDA-X captures. For modulation and stuff the Core is excellent though. The biggest advantage is how easy it is to edit on the fly with the Core, it’s far from perfect but once you’ve got the hang of editing on the device it’s incredibly intuitive and quick.
  21. Oooo another quirk is that the Speaker sim blocks only work when an AIRD preamp block is in the signal path. This is annoying if like me you have a preferred preamp pedal. Even the cleanest natural preamp in the Core colours the tone quite a bit so the other option is to use an A/B divider. If you pop a preamp block in B and set the split to be 100% the A path the cabsim will work without any colouring. It means sacrificing a divider though.
  22. It’s paid off, excellent quality and the bass looks great! Looking forward to the Lusithand special preamp as that’s what I’ve got my eyes on. You’re an influencer now 😂 I’m still on the fence between hacking up my p-bass vs a getting a BB734. Keep looking at this which is pretty inspiring https://www.instagram.com/reel/CkyHPtOJ3vd/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
  23. I miss mine 😂 I got a MOD Dwarf which is incredible but the GT1000core is still pretty special. Definitely much more pedalboard friendly.
