  1. AIDA-X is pretty cool, being able to capture your favourite amp or pedal is a game changer. Great way to just download and try other gear too. At the same time though I’ve managed to get a really similar Capo tone using a mix of the Alembic preamp, Calf saturator and Tube sim which uses a fraction of the CPU. It’s not the same but it sounds great. Are most people using the Dwarf as their entire rig or integrating with an existing board/amp?
  2. You weren’t running AIDA-X at all? They patched it since but there was a bug when you bypassed AIDA-X it muted the chain.
  3. PS Its been a few months now with the WB100 and I still love it. Still getting compliments from the band at practice, won out over the SVT I borrowed last week too. I’ve recently started playing more with pushing the input gain on the head too rather than just relying on my pedals for crunch and it sounds excellent. Just a little extra hair on it. Just need a second Baer 112 and I’m sorted 🙌
  4. Caught the guy who helps set levels etc at our rehearsal space scratching his head while fiddling with getting the bass going. He said the amp DI was crazy hot, not clipping but right up in the red. Think I need to grab an attenuator for the DI!
  5. I’ve seen a few folks on here who’ve ditched high end compressors like the Cali76 in favour of the LMB. Never tried it but keen to pick one up one day it out, I’m sure it’ll do nicely 🙌
  6. Finally had a go modelling with AIDA-X! First couple of captures using the Jad Freer Capo - https://forum.mod.audio/t/jad-freer-capo-bass-preamp/10379 Also got some captures of a couple of drives - https://forum.mod.audio/t/eae-halberd-v2-and-longsword-v4/10383 And here’s a comparison of one of the pedals compared with the captured version - I opted for really thick high gain because they were the ones I was really struggling to nail down but results are pretty close!
  7. There was a chap on TB chatting about the Sisma which is essentially a Coda with a B-15 inspired preamp infront. He was raving about it.
  8. The GT1000core had a model of it which always sounded great. I never had it at the same time as my DG Hyper Luminal but I think it's one of the reasons I was a little underwhelmed when I got the DG.
  9. Jad Freer Capo + Electronic Audio Experiments Model FeT always make everything that little bit better. My Model FeT is actually out of order currently, the last practice one of band we're asking if after it so it's definitely not in my head and is actually making a difference 😂
  10. That's fair enough. Chorus isn't typically on my go to list, not sure it's got much application in the band but really need to spend more time experimenting.
  11. Pretty tempted to try their Omicron, not a huge DG fan but that always was the one that interested me. The other non drive effects on there are pretty tempting. Just wish there were more demos out there.
  12. I think we need out own pedalboard thread for those with less appetite for razzmatazz. I've got my Mod Dwarf for when I want to zhuzh it up a little with a chorus and some reverb but mostly just end up using it to add more drives 😂
  13. I always look at the interesting boards on here and think it's time for some exotic modulation or something rather than just a board full of preamps and drives. I just think I've never really gotten my head around time based stuff or flangers etc and how to dial them in rather than not liking them. Perhaps I'll start with an octave pedal and go from there. I really enjoyed the the MV OFF1, having fuzz made it a little more palatable even if the tracking wasn't incredible.
  14. Just picked some up, sound decent and waaaay less sticky than my usual DR Hi beams.
  15. Ahhh was obsessing about these not so long back but couldn't find them anywhere. Sound like an incredible but of kit!
  16. You could probably test the theory by running your preamp of choice into the FX return on your amp if it has one. I did this a few times with my Model FeT and Capo preamps and it sounded great. Also did it with the Boss GT1000 core quite a bit. That was a GK Fusion S 800 amp.
  17. Well I did get a response but not sure I did a good job of explaining myself. I think he thought I was complaining about the fan noise levels as well. He said the temperature wasn't a concern though!
  18. Good to know! Yeah the grill on the back is hot, I can hold my hand on it comfortably for about 5 seconds or so before it starts to feel uncomfortable. I've messaged them just for some piece of mind so will see what they say about operating temperatures.
  19. I'd pop it in the 60 degree range I think so definitely a little on the higher side.
  20. I dont have a thermometer to hand but I'd say its approaching a good latte temperature.
  21. How hot do peoples WB100s run? I know valve amps run pretty hot etc but at what point should I get concerned?
  22. Yeah saw that, really neat feature and a very clever optimisation.
