  1. Fuzz! I want to experiment with blending drives in plus we have a few tunes where a volume would be super handy. Also playing with delays and modulation and binding the expression to different parameters can give you some pretty cool sounds.
  2. Currently trying to weigh up options to extend the Dwarf foot switches and adding an expression. Things I've considered are: * Boss EV-1- WL midi expression with the option to connect a footswitch to it later. * a midi footswitch with an analog expression pedal jack. I don't have a huge amount of space to play with the morningstar 3 switch is a pretty good fit and a dunlop mini dvp would help save space. The Boss one sounds great on paper and I could connect to my laptop to control vst stuff etc but apparently it's a nightmare to setup and has loads of usability issues.
  3. It's incredibly handy, especially if you're using any of their convolution reverbs and amp models which can get pretty heavy on cpu.
  4. Jad Freer Capo preamp/DI and the EAE Halberd (Which I own) I suspect the new Lusithand Alma compressor would be a good candidate based on the reviews.
  5. That looks excellent, the indicator and ratio are a very nice touch.
  6. Yeah fantastic amps, proper workhorse too, had mine about 15 years and the only service it required was a little cleaning of some dust that had built up from not getting used regularly. When the person came to grab it and give it a quick try I instantly regretted my decision 😂
  7. I miss my GK 700rb, sold it a while back for virtually nothing when I wasn't really doing much music stuff along with my 410rbh. Awesome gear!
  8. Start simple would be my suggestion and where possible aim for keeping unity gain throughout. First up check that you have your input levels right on the Dwarf. I usually start with getting an IR if I'm not playing through a physical amp. There are some excellent free bass ones from Shiftline that I use over all the premium ones I've acquired over time. Next up I'd usually get a preamp added. I had to put all the preamps in a line and audition them all one at a time. When you find one you don't like just remove it until you've narrowed it down. I often check signals by turning stuff off and on and checking there's no significant change to loudness. Once I've gotten a core tone with preamp and cab sim in place I'll start on adding always on stuff. Compression is subjective, personally with physical compressors I favour it up front rather than last. For digital boards you don't have the same physical constraints so you can easily play around. I'm a big fan of very light compression at either end although my valve amp adds a little squish anyway. PS the Molot compressor in the beta store is excellent, just pop on the bass preset, drop the ratio a little and go. Drives are tricky, I've not found any on the Dwarf which quite do it for me. I've taken to blending two and then EQ them on a separate channel so I can quickly switch between. As for modulation and delays/reverb thats an area way out of my comfort zone so I'm still finding out what works for me. Same approach though, lots of auditioning of different fx and creating a shortlist of ones I like. It's really subjective and while I'd suggest take any suggestions with a pinch of salt a lot of the rules make for a good starting point. The Dwarf ecosystem is incredibly overwhelming, anything you can do to slim down the number of plugins is worthwhile. I personally uninstalled loads I wasn't keen on.
  9. Something definitely doesn't sound right there. I'd have imagined the two10 buckling waaay before the r400.
  10. Only one at the moment, my Handbox WB100. Would love to grab another smaller backup, perhaps a GSS Sumo. If I had the money I'd grab a Jad Freer Sisma they look incredible. Worst case scenario I can resort to going straight through the PA from my pedalboard. It sounds fine but it's nowhere near as fun.
  11. Na, unfortunately that's at a hardware level according to FalkTX, I have a similar issue as I use the channels as an FX loop so channel 1 goes between my pedals and preamp and channel 2 goes between the preamp and DI. Seems like a pretty big oversight considering how many use it for multiple instruments or vocals + guitar etc. You can remedy it with adapters I guess though.
  12. Aye that looks like it fits the bill! I've been looking at the Boss foot switch for use with the MOD Dwarf so I can attach an expression pedal and a couple of extra ctrl switches if needed. The fact it can connect to the Dwarf via USB or Midi is pretty handy.
  13. https://www.andertons.co.uk/boss-fs-1-wl-wireless-footswitch?msclkid=ab830056399f1e93092064eed9a6c4f2&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=IMP | Standard - Category - Guitars - PLA&utm_term=4576579735122701&utm_content=Guitar Amps & Cabs Looks like you can!
  14. Wouldn't you be able to rig the Boss wireless midi foot switch up to do that? I'm sure you'd be able to get software for the os to convert a midi signal to keyboard press. The Boss software may even do it for you.
  15. You might benefit from having a Stomp or similar, it'd cover what you have and a lot more too. Stuff like the HX Stomp and Boss GT1000core have fx loops so you can integrate analog pedals into your digital fx chain too so if you had individual pedals that you wanted to keep you could. Most of the multifx units sound just as good as their real world analog counterparts, I don't think quality is really an issue. The biggest difference is going to be how you interact with a multifx unit vs the more tactile physical pedal approach, I know a lot of people opt to edit their patches via desktop editors etc rather than the on-device interface. The HX Stomp seems to pop up for good prices 2nd hand a lot, wouldn't hurt to try it out!
  16. Haha dunno about that, it all seems constructive! I'm guilty of siloing information and being oblivious to others having issues, feedback is vital.
  17. I would definitely flag some of these woes on the forum. A healthy development community is a good way to keep the product afloat. If it's hard to get up and running that's gonna deter a lot of people.
  18. The Boss GT1000core is a great unit. They don't have the update cadence of other devices which is a shame as there isn't a quarterly drop of new amps/pedals or anything but tbh what is there is incredibly robust.
  19. Was always keen to try their Cosmic Trigger pedal, the demos sounded great. Haven't explored their other pedals until now but they all sound excellent.
  20. I was playing with something like that on the MOD Dwarf yesterday. Just using the same drive but the plan was to experiment with different drives and compression, think you could do something pretty cool with it.
  21. I've played around with similar approaches tbf using multifx. Parallel drives with different characters which play well together sometimes just work really nice where in series it would be too much. Not far off the DG Alpha Omega in terms of approach. Fun to play around with at home but found it totally impractical for band stuff, balancing levels was tricky and kept having to tweak the eq if i changed the blend at all. Always ended up swiftly returning to a more simple setup. That particular combo doesn't sound appealing to me but whatever works for you!
  22. I find idle hands are the worst cause of GAS and tone searching personally. Same with all hobbies. When I'm out there doing stuff and busy with band stuff the GAS is way less aggressive, as soon as we have to miss a couple because people are busy it's back with a vengeance. Same was true with skating, I'd barely buy anything over summer but once winter hit and weather got crappy I'd find myself buying gear and trading stuff.
  23. Borrowed a reamp box so going to have a go at capturing some pedals. Going to start with my EAE Halberd, great pedal but a lot of options to choose from. 3 voicings that go from thin and clanky all the way to thick and chewy plus a very interactive eq. Think I'll just pick a few settings I like best as a starting point.
