  1. Thats incredible, I'd love a 12 step to do some cool modulation stuff. I think if I'd had access to all this stuff when I didn't have a child and other responsibilities I'd have never left the house 😂
  2. Just picked up a 2nd hand one on here so hopefully should be up and running at the weekend/early next week. Very excited to have a proper fiddle.
  3. I love the orange Tortex triangles. They have just the right flex and feel really comfortable.
  4. Yeah looks really cool, excited to see the demos. Sounds like its a pretty huge drain on CPU, someone said just the amp sim and a cab sim pushed it to around 80% but sure that'll get better with time. Definitely not bad for a modeller intended just desktop. Still want a Dwarf but other stuff keeps getting in the way! Maybe next month 🙏
  5. The more I play with the WB100 the more I love it. Currently set up: Bright + Drive - off Gain - 12 o'clock Bass - 12-1 Mids - 2-4 (shift at 600hz) Treble - 12 Master - Very low at home but cranking as required Still experimenting a lot though. I've always relied on pedals upfront to provide drive and grit but with this head using them more as clean boosts and letting the head do the breakup sounds really good. It takes the boost way better than my GK Fusion S, that always made my bass sound like someone clearing their throat.
  6. What does the Feedback swtich do on the WB-100? I've seen other versions with a voicing option for different music styles. @wateroftyne I'm sure you told me but I've totally forgotten!
  7. Honestly though I love their compressor and have no doubts itd suit me more than my Hyper Luminal (also excellent though). This drive is probably one i will hold off on, I need to spend a bit of time playing with the Halberd, Capo and Handbox WB100 as there's a huge range i can get from them already without introducing more drive options. Still think this looks like a pretty solid drive option though, if I wasn't already a bit spoiled for choice I'd be grabbing it.
  8. I think that was my concern with selling my EAE Longsword to try it. The longsword is excellent but there is a bit of an overlap with the Halberd. Perhaps I don't really need either 😂
  9. This plant is a miracle, it's almost as old as me. I once forgot to water it for a whole year and it still just looked the same as when I actually made an effort to look after it 😂 It's a zombie plant!
  10. Finally got a cab I can use to play my WB100 at home. Originally planned on a BF Supercompact or BB2 but then came across this Baer ML112. Sounds incredible so far at lower volumes but should be able to try it out next week at practice properly. I'll possibly need a 2nd for gigs and stuff but gonna give it a go and see how it holds its ground against 2 Marshall 4x12s 😬 Will report back once I've had more time to play.
  11. Jad Freer Capo is great, I've managed to dial in a great sansamp like tone with it but it's so versatile. Great sounding drive too 🙌
  12. Probably a purchase for next month or the one after for me! Kind of intrigued to swap out the Hyper Luminal for an alma too. The HL is fine but love the diamond type compressors, the alma sounds excellent in all the demos.
  13. If I have any money left next payday and they're still here I'd happily take them, maybe you could consider a finance scheme or something 😂
  14. Yeah I think lesson here is try and avoid flippant comments where possible, that being said has taken every bit of feedback regarding gear suggestions onboard. For what its worth my current band is all loud and aggressive noisy punk stuff, the drummer is loud out of neccessity and not wearing ear protection is completely out of the question even if we're just at rehersals and taking it easy. That's not a reflection on the drummers compitance, it's just music that requires a little heavy handedness. Dunno if it'd help but I found my Two10 looked like the speakers were going to fly off even at reasonably low volumes until I got a Thumpinator v2 on my board. Might be worth adding a HPF to cut out some of the unwanted low noise, especially if you're pushing the bass more on the EQ.
  15. At least with Joyo if something goes wrong you have some recourse from them or the retailer. I've always loved the sound of the Alpha Omicron but would never use it enough to justify the cost I don't think, if they did do a clone I'd be super tempted!
  16. Na thats fair although people can play in bands for 20 years casually without having exposure to bigger setups and hardware etc. It just seems like a lot of people jumping in stirring up an argument with a new member while providing no real suggestions or constructive feedback, seems a little more Talkbass than Basschat is all.
  17. I'm not sure what you're advocating? Are you against the use of ear protection?
  18. Most of the heavier bands I've played with the drummers have been far too loud to play without protection. That's got nothing to do with a lack of talent, just the kind of music demands it. Back on topic, I'd say the big twin is definitely not the weak link in your setup. I've played a super twin with my old GK Fusion S 800 and it's been uncomfortably loud even with ear protection and stood well away. The cab barely broke a sweat and it's not as high output as yours.
  19. I was playing at home the other evening and went to switch on a pedal but it was totally dead. Closer inspection it was hot and had the harrowing smell of smouldering silicone. The Cioks DC7 powering it was hot too. Chatting to the folks from Cioks and EAE who produce the Model FeT (RIP) it sounds more and more likely that a power surge was responsible. Especially after digging and finding out that on top of the hot weather there was lightning warnings around the same time (nothing nearby that I'm aware of). I use surge protected power extensions for most stuff including my pedalboard, if it was a power surge then they clearly didn't help. Cioks recommended Furman, a AC120a would be enough for my amp and pedals but at £180ish that's way more than I wanna spend and is the size of a class d head! It's cheaper than replacing amps and pedals though! What do other people use? Any other good recommendations to protect my gear.
  20. So the DC7 and the exploding Model FeT plot thickens somewhat, just recalled someone at work mentioning thunderstorms earlier in the week. I did a little googling and it was on Monday evening which was when it happened. Coupled with some very hot weather perhaps it was in fact a power surge that caused it. If it was a surge then the surge protection afforded by the extension I use clearly did little to help. I don't really want to drop £200 on a furman unit or similar. Then again if it happened again it could easily cause more than that in damages.
  21. Yeah I found that I had a bit of trial and error finding which pedals worked best via daisy chaining. I probably won't sell my C4 for that very reason, already maxed out on outlets and have some holes to fill!
  22. Yeah that's fair, I can barely speak english and it's my only language 😂 Yeah it could be that the pedal failed and caused a short. I'm going to try and send it back to EAE, they have someone in Dublin who can look so I don't have to ship it all the way back to Canada.
  23. PS worth mentioning I still really love the Cioks products and will continue to use the DC7 once I get a replacement and have a little more confidenct of plugging it in. I was just a little underwhelmed at the response and the tone of it considering how much amazing stuff I've heard about them, I'm sure it was just an off day. I'm still not convinced at all that this was just the result of dirty power etc but equally don't have any way to know so going to buy another surge protector and hope for the best once the replacement arrives. Until then I'll fallback to my C4 and all the daisy chains can handle. Hopefully I'll be able to source a replacement EAE Model Fet or get it repaired.
  24. Na all the wires were the correct center negative ones, all 9v on the jumpers and plugged into the same surge protected extension that I've used for the last year or so. I definitely get that, it's possible to have a polite conversation without admitting culpability. I dunno, just glad Andertons are at least willing to switch it out for a different unit so I can at least have a little confidence to use my pedalboard again.
