Drives/Distortions/Fuzzes through amp DI - Beat the fizz?
MrDinsdale replied to thisisswanbon's topic in Effects
I think 3rd party IRs might have been a later addition to the software. Element looks great although id love to see a comparison to the Cab M. When I've been practicing I've been putting a LPF on in logic around 3khz at -6db per octave in Logic and it's a huge improvement. Thats the same approach the took on the Jad Freer Capo and I've gotta say I really like the simplicity of it. -
Drives/Distortions/Fuzzes through amp DI - Beat the fizz?

I'd like to assume most FOH would apply a LPF to shave off some fizz. Your amps DI is unlikely to sound any better unless it has a LPF or cabsim. There are DIs like the Two Notes Cab M that you could put in your effects loop to apply a cabsim to the DI for FOH. -
Got a Hyper Luminal that I've been tempted to try for ages. Lovely chap and sent it off straightaway. Highly recommended!

Final bits for a pedalboard. Any tips or must have bits?
MrDinsdale replied to lidl e's topic in Effects
Don't so what i did and place all my pedals on, cut all the wires to length etc only to realise there wasn't enough space between some of the pedals to safely stomp them individually. The EBS patch cables are fantastic, much smaller profile that the custom ones i soldered too and they come in enough sizes that for most boards you can minimise mess excess wiring. -
Bass head with valve pre, what's good nowadays?
MrDinsdale replied to andydye's topic in Amps and Cabs
Yeah the Sisma is modelled on a B15 i think? The Capo just looks like a very versatile and high quality preamp. What i meant was more that I'd love to own all their stuff but I'll settle for the Capo 😂 -
Was just gonna say the same thing. Unless you need your amp for something specific like having a clean/dirt channel with footswitch or something I'd just use whats provided though personally. If your gear os pretty integral though then just utilising the send/return is a nice safe way of configuring it.

Yeah they almost sound too good to be true but definitely want to get one. -

Ahhh thats a shame. For what it's worth from speaking to others who ordered directly from JF it sounds like they were super helpful and instantly gave a refund for a discrepancy between their site and the reverb price so was a little surprised to hear anything negative. -

The Jad Freer stuff looks really impressive, from what I've heard it sounds incredible too and packed with great features/design. Can't afford the amp, or their power amp but still probably going to end up with their Capo preamp pedal in the near future. -

Love my GK Fusion S 800 head. It pair's great with the two10 (albeit a little overpowered) so I'm sure the one10 will work great. It was perfect for warm smooth base tones to accompany some slightly folkier stuff. More recently I've been using it for some very aggressive snarly punky noise stuff and it's blown me away. The tube overdrive channel is great, I wrote it off a bit foolishly when i got the head but after getting to know it I'm fully sold. I genuinely think you could get a solid tone for just about anything. -
Let us know how you get on! Tbh my FeT and Fusion S sounded so good at the last practice I don't wanna mess with a good formula. I'll still end up ordering it though I'm sure in a moment of weakness 🤣

I was looking but decided to just grab a Hyper Luminal 2nd hand instead. I think even if it sounded good i just wouldn't trust it at a gig or that its been particularly ethically produced!

Brilliant (editorialised) recreation of the Famous Sunn Model T amp. One of the best made pedals I've ever had. Particularly suited to stacking with other drive pedals but equally just works great as an always on preamp, something about the powerstage emulation that instantly gives a warmth/fullness to the tone. It also works wonders for high gain guitar, pop a RAT infront and it sounds awesome. The blending of the Brite and Normal channels allows for some really cool tones. Here's a pretty good deep dive into the sounds - Unfortunately it doesn't quite fit my current requirements and can't afford to keep it. It has velcro on the bottom but can easily remove it before shipping. Price includes UK shipping

It’s so beautiful. I think I might just order it and worry about the money later 😂

I've etched one of demo videos into my brain so much that I accidentally started playing while I was sat noodling last night.

Haha I’ve been missing it since I took it off my board 😂 Such an awesome thing to have on the pedalboard, I wasn’t using many of the amp/fx blocks as such other than eq, compression and the dividers. Had a lot of fun with parallel blending the Sansamp emulation or analog pedals in the fx loop. if I could afford to keep it just as an interface/recording tool I would!

Fantastic little multi fx unit. This completely sold me on its ability to do lots of clever signal routing and I’ve very much enjoyed playing with it over the last year. Lots of options for multi-band processing and has 2 fx loops so it’s a great option for integrating into an existing pedal board. Comes with box and power supply, also has the WIDI Jack and cables to allow you to connect to the GT1000 via Bluetooth. Super handy feature! Reluctantly selling as on the latest project their isn’t really a calling for it. While I’d love to keep it there are some other items I need more. It’s in near perfect condition aside from a few little scuffs underneath.

Funnily enough I’ve been eyeing up the Le Bass, sounds great for the most part but it’s a really awkward size/shape. From the clips I’ve heard the Capo wins in terms of tone and versatility but it’s not cheap. It seems like the Two Notes Revolt Bass was a bit of a disappointment for people who’ve played a Le Bass. Was tempted to pick one up as I could probable justify that without needing to sell anything first!

Awesome! I really like my current tone tbf but having to use multiple preamps gets fiddly to dial it in. Also the GK Fusion S OD channel sounds great but it always feels very disconnected from the clean channel to me. I’ve found myself having to rig it up with the GTK to allow me to apply a specific EQ depending on which channel is selected. Going off the demos and reviews it sounds like this does everything I need in a convenient package. I won’t derail the thread any more than I have already 🤣

I was just listening to some of the demos and think I could get everything I love about my Model FeT with GK Fusion S and lots more. As much as I love my GT1000core and the Model FeT I’d happily sell them on to fund a Capo. It sounds like it covers everything I’d want in a small package. Being able to get super warm cleans all the way to crunchy clanky mid heavy tones from a single preamp is a pretty awesome proposition.
