  1. I currently love this Schecter p-4. Might just be that it's the first time I've had a 4 string in the last 20 years or that it's my first p-bass but it makes me feel happy every time I pick it up.
  2. Wow, would love to try one of these. Saw someone selling a mk1 on FB, I'd have bought it if I had £9k burning a hole in my pocket 🤣
  3. Think it's £285 for pre-order. I was really tempted but decided to go for something else in the end.
  4. Just found this, probably a bit more advanced than what I'd need. The ML5 is cool, didn't even know it existed. It's good to know that there are options out there to incorporate additional pedals into the GT1K sends while still being able to control them individually.
  5. Has anyone got any examples of the Rockboard tres 3.0 and 3.1? Trying to visualise my board with a little extra room to grow and inspiration would be super handy. Currently just a TC poly tuner, GT-1000 core currently with a ME Super 800 plus preamp on its way followed by a compressor (hyper luminal or cali76) and possibly a couple of drives in the near future (when I can afford it). Then probably a DI or something. I really like how modularity of the Rockboard and the I/O options like the mod v1
  6. Nice! Will have a proper watch soon with headphones, currently on child duty!
  7. I find I have to be really careful with string muting while tuning on my 5 string Warwick Corvette, my other 5 string is absolutely fine and has no issues. I think for what ever reason the Warwick is way more sensitive to sympathetic vibrations or something so it helps to mute or use harmonics on the 12th fret for tuning the B string.
  8. You can also run from a cab sim into a monitor/flat response speaker rather that a traditional bass amp/cab for a super portable option.
  9. Looking forward to it 🙌
  10. Yes please! Ive been wanting to get a preamp/drive pedal to loop I'm to my GT1k and this is super tempting. I was torn between this and grabbing a 2nd hand DG Alpha Omega ultra. The A/O seems like it has a more versatile drive section but the Badwater sounds amazing in every demo I've heard. Would love to hear your thoughts on the mid sweep options. As others had mentioned they seem pretty high, very interested in how usable they seem. It was pretty much the one thing that left me scratching my head a little and no previews/reviews have really touched on.
  11. I think it's a feature of the active EMG BTS preamp, I had a similar on my other EMG setup but for sweeping mids
  12. Aye this was the one thing that had me a little confused, seems like some odd ranges but tbh I think they'd still be perfectly usable.
  13. Yeah it looks and sounds great from the demos I've seen. Very tempted by it but then again I seem to be tempted by everything I see at the moment 🤣
  14. No worries! I can't recommend schecter enough if you like slim necks. You're getting a lot of bass for your money with them.
  15. Wow! They look incredible! Can't believe I overlooked Schecter for so long, really beautiful basses especially for the price!
  16. Cheers! It's great! Didn't come particularly well set up and had to file a little bump out of the topnut to stop some rattle but it's so nice to play now. The EMG BTS preamp is great, I've tweaked it so the treble acts as a kind of high mid/treble boost and it gives it a really aggressive tone.
  17. Found I couldn't quite get the action low so had to pop a little shim in. While I was there I popped off the pickguard to investigate incase anyone's interested. Not quite sure what the switches on the preamp do. On my 3 band emg it controls mid frequency I think. Not the neatest cavity I've ever seen but it'll do.
  18. The only criticism I have for a single pickup is not having as many places to rest my thumb when playing the E string.
  19. Having finally got a p bass after exclusively playing j style basses it's quite liberating not having all that distraction of an extra pickup position. Tbh I mostly just have a blend of both pickups anyways that I stick with for 90% of the time.
  20. Really love the Fusion S, the it's so versitile and the OD channel is awesome. GK have a bit of a reputation for being a one trick kind of amp but I think they're heavy hitters alround, they just happen to really excel with that signature growl sound. The Fusion can get super warm tones though right through to brutal metal sounds. TBH the only reason I'm selling is because I got the GT1000core pedal, it's not on the same level as the Fusion S but it's good enough for my requirements and I can't afford to keep both. In an ideal world I'd keep them both and 4 cable them up so I could leverage the best of both but budget is tight! Never tried any Mesa bass gear so wouldn't be able to offer a comparison, always loved the look of the cabs though and some of my favourite rock tones have used Mesa gear. I've always though of them as pretty similar to GK in terms of sound?
  21. The neck is my favourite bit, feels so smooth. I was always a huge Warwick fan, never owned one until recently when I got a 5 corvette. The neck is so much chunkier than I remembered. I still love it but I've realised they're not the ultimate bass I'd always built them up to be. A Warwick thumb with this neck profile would be pretty killer though!
  22. Yeah if I get any freebies it'd be appreciated to offset having to fix it but it's not the end f the world. I certainly wouldn't send it back. The stock strings felt very light to me, I was convinced they'd strung it with 35-95 or something. Measured with calipers and definitely 45-105 though. Think the DR strings are just way higher tension. I'm being incredibly picky on the jack plate, I'll try grab a picture. It's just that it overlaps the rounded edge a little. I can certainly live with it though 🤣🤣🤣
