  1. I was also considering just getting a multicore cable vs buying individual cables. I know Van Damme do some good 4core cable which would be more than enough for me.
  2. I was thinking of doing something similar for doing 4cm. It’d be 4 1/4” jacks and maybe a power cable, fancy a rockboard pedal with the little patch bay mod so I can just plug straight in. Started getting very expensive thought 😂
  3. I think in general the real pedals will normally sound better than the emulated version but it’s so negligible with these new units. Nothing beats tinkering with a real pedal though.
  4. I’m pretty new to effects, I’ve always just used a compressor and what ever growl I could get out of my GK. Recently got the Boss GT1000 core and was blown away by the quality of the sound. There are a few other pedals I’d still like to pair up with it but makes a great central piece for a pedal board, the options are pretty endless.
  5. These and Shellac have been on a lot this week!
  6. My first real bass after I built as a through neck because I was obsessed with the Warwick thumb. Always thought it was a must have for tone and playability. Then 15 years later grabbed a real Warwick Corvette bolt-on 5 string, it sounds and plays great! Honestly I can't say I've had any issues hitting higher frets on my Warwick bolt-on, a well designed cutaway and neck pocket makes all the difference. Alpher instruments basses are a great example of a bolt-on design that doesn't get in the way. Obviously bolt-on basses are always gonn have a disadvantage though. I don't really have a preference on neck style, its more down to the bass and what I'm using it for. If I was playing some grungy punk I'd reach for the bolt-on p-bass, if it was something a little more funk or progy then I'd maybe reach for my DIY 5 string through neck Warwick ripoff.
  7. Yikes! The zoom be makes it looks a lot smaller than it is! I'm gonna have to sketch it out I think and plan a rough layout to work out what I need.
  8. Awesome! I'm actually wondering if the the 3.0 is big enough now. Once I've got my GT1000 core, preamp pedal, tuner and an expression pedal I'll be fighting for space, that looks super portable though.
  9. I currently love this Schecter p-4. Might just be that it's the first time I've had a 4 string in the last 20 years or that it's my first p-bass but it makes me feel happy every time I pick it up.
  10. Wow, would love to try one of these. Saw someone selling a mk1 on FB, I'd have bought it if I had £9k burning a hole in my pocket 🤣
  11. Think it's £285 for pre-order. I was really tempted but decided to go for something else in the end.
  12. Just found this, probably a bit more advanced than what I'd need. The ML5 is cool, didn't even know it existed. It's good to know that there are options out there to incorporate additional pedals into the GT1K sends while still being able to control them individually.
  13. Has anyone got any examples of the Rockboard tres 3.0 and 3.1? Trying to visualise my board with a little extra room to grow and inspiration would be super handy. Currently just a TC poly tuner, GT-1000 core currently with a ME Super 800 plus preamp on its way followed by a compressor (hyper luminal or cali76) and possibly a couple of drives in the near future (when I can afford it). Then probably a DI or something. I really like how modularity of the Rockboard and the I/O options like the mod v1
  14. Nice! Will have a proper watch soon with headphones, currently on child duty!
  15. I find I have to be really careful with string muting while tuning on my 5 string Warwick Corvette, my other 5 string is absolutely fine and has no issues. I think for what ever reason the Warwick is way more sensitive to sympathetic vibrations or something so it helps to mute or use harmonics on the 12th fret for tuning the B string.
  16. That looks like a beast!
  17. You can also run from a cab sim into a monitor/flat response speaker rather that a traditional bass amp/cab for a super portable option.
  18. Looking forward to it 🙌
  19. Yes please! Ive been wanting to get a preamp/drive pedal to loop I'm to my GT1k and this is super tempting. I was torn between this and grabbing a 2nd hand DG Alpha Omega ultra. The A/O seems like it has a more versatile drive section but the Badwater sounds amazing in every demo I've heard. Would love to hear your thoughts on the mid sweep options. As others had mentioned they seem pretty high, very interested in how usable they seem. It was pretty much the one thing that left me scratching my head a little and no previews/reviews have really touched on.
  20. I think it's a feature of the active EMG BTS preamp, I had a similar on my other EMG setup but for sweeping mids
  21. Aye this was the one thing that had me a little confused, seems like some odd ranges but tbh I think they'd still be perfectly usable.
  22. Yeah it looks and sounds great from the demos I've seen. Very tempted by it but then again I seem to be tempted by everything I see at the moment 🤣
  23. Ps are those the Dr black strings? If so how do you find them?
  24. No worries! I can't recommend schecter enough if you like slim necks. You're getting a lot of bass for your money with them.
  25. Wow! They look incredible! Can't believe I overlooked Schecter for so long, really beautiful basses especially for the price!
