2.
I haven't had the pleasure of checking out the current ones, but they look good - wouldn't mind one myself to keep my blueburst one company. The only obvious differences I can see are that the truss rod adjusts at the headstock end & has a truss rod cover, so you don't have to take the neck off to tweak it (although I can't remember when I last had to do it), plus it has more authentic pointy knobs (I wonder if these are available as a retrofit for mine )
I can tell you that the point knobs are a right pain, they are in the way of each other, and they are very easy to turn accidentally while playing. Maybe we can do a swap if I get it?
 3.
I forgot about it as I was out and about, I got 2 new basses yesterday so I'm happy.
I forgot I had family coming and visit, so I was out with the all the time and failed to place a single bid. I might go for the current reissue in january, we'll see.
 4.
This feels like a really silly question but I genuinely don't get it. If you're going to name the notes after letters of the alphabet, why would C be first? Or does all this relate to some other alphabet?
Because you can't get lower than the bottom of the C.... Sorry I'm hungover after the office Xmas party, couldn't help myself
 5.
Wayne & Razze - good luck chaps & may the best man win If either of you do [s]win[/s] purchase it, I hope you look as cool than I do playing mine
An interesting point is that you can have a brand new copperburst version of this for around £280. Hopefully this will keep to auction honest... I'm going to have one of these sooner or later!
 6. Substantial drop on price, I want rid of this
 7. bump, maybe someone will take a shine to this tonight!
 8.
Nah, I have a price if it goes for more so be it. good luck mate.
Actually so do I. I have grown sensible over the years... Good luck to you
 9.
I had my eye on this for a few days, I'll get it if it goes at the right price.
I want it too! Bid war?
 10. On Ebay So I fancy one of these, but i've only tried the new "dead on '58" reissues. Is this going to be close to it? Anyone has any ideas how old it may be, or how much it may be going for?
 11.
No, but they will alter your ability to judge a cab as worthy or not of even bothering to test given the application for which you are going to buy it though. How many times have I heard on this forum that all that counts is the sound on the gig? Why is that such a huge issue compared to turning up loud in the shop? Why can you not have any idea how well a cab will perform on the gig given the tone in the shop? Part of this is because you cant even guess given the specs that are published. Alex is trying to get widespread demand for proper useful specs to be published that will definitely enable and empower you the end user. Why are any of you fighting that? What is the problem? No one is suggesting that you dont need to go and hear a cab because of this spec. All that is being suggested is that a given cab with this spec should produce a similar real world volume to another cab with this spec the same as it. That is what the much hated watts RMS is supposed or purported to do now, but doesnt. It doesnt mean you will like the sound, just that there should be x amount of sound possible from the cab. Or am I very much mistaken Alex?
I am actually in agreement with you. I was advocating the addition of further useful specs to the datasheet, to corroborate what you hear when you try it. Maybe I didn't phrase it the best possible way...
 12.
All true, but without science and facts you will not get advancements in the technology that produces the sounds you are auditioning with your ears and reduces the weight of your rig.
But do you, as the end user, care? For example, for any cab, if the specs look great but the cabs sound sh*te, would you still buy them?!

Will the appearance of more specs on the datasheet alter the quality of the sound that comes out of the speaker?
 13.
Whats with all the science? What's wrong with auditioning cabs by using your ears? At the end of the day, that is what you are going to be hearing your cabs with. You should take the following into account. Tone - does the cab make your gear sound pleasant to your ears? Volume - is it loud enough for your needs? Portability/Weight - is it going to be a nightmare to get to gigs? Looks - do you like the look of your gear or does it make you wince every time you look at it? Compatability - is the cab suited to work with your gear e.g. does the impedance of the cab and amp match? Specs on paper mean nothing. Performance in the real world means everything.
All true, but without science and facts you will not get advancements in the technology that produces the sounds you are auditioning with your ears and reduces the weight of your rig.
 14. I am wondering if schecters simply don't sell or trade... I think it's great, well built, and very versatile. It just isn't right or the stuff I do at the moment, simple as that If it's a price issue, let me know, i understand Xmas is coming up and all. I will post this, and anyone is welcome to come and have a play
 15.
The fattest bass I've ever heard is my Peavey T-40!
At the risk of being laughed at, I declare that my Westone Thunder 1A can be dialled to be one of the darkest and powerful sounding bass I have ever heard. The T-40 wins in many other fields, but if you roll the active knob all the way to "bass", you will know why they called it thunder. *Gets ready to dodge tomatoes*
 16. Bump, and an admission of GAS for a danelectro longhorn shortscale...
 17. Result! I plugged a lead into my mobile phone, set it to "line out", turned the radio on, tuned it between stations, put the output through a big muff pi at full tilt, then through a flanger set at a very low rate, all through the PA. Swooshtatic! Thanks for all the suggestions, helped me a lot!
I've got a gig at the Rowantree tonight, and i'm taking the puma head and the M210 only. I hope i'm loud enough for the room... Will let you know tomorrow
So I'm quite happy with the results. The venue is a kind of vaulted ceiling mid-sized pub, long and relatively narow, with plenty of nooks and crannies. Compared to other places, acoustic of the room is ok, not much reverberation but not flat either. I never had to push the rig hard at all. The volume knob never went past 1 o'clock, with just a touch of gain. The T-40 i used has got more attack, bite an snarl than you may possibly ever need, so the mids knobs stayed pretty flat to avoid excessive harshness. I found that I had to push the lows knob all the way to retain fullness of sound, but that's to be expected and frankly acceptable, given the type of cab. Oh and at the end of the gig i just put the head and leads in my backpack, bass in one hand, cab in the other and I walked to the taxi rank Quite a departure from a carload of cabs and heads and things. The only criticism i have is that the cab handles are quite uncomfortable. They look neat, as they don't stick out or anything, but they make one handed carries a little unconfortable over anything more than 20 yards. So I am very happy with my purchase, so much so that I'm selling off much of the rest of my amplification.
 19.
Played my housemate's Kickback 15 last the other night and the amount of volume and low end on tap is very impressive for a smallish combo. These are a very different beast to the A series amps and have a great intuitive pre-amp shape control, someone should snap this up
Indeed! Special price if you buy the Schecter cv4 i have for sale as well! Seriously, I'm selling because my new TecAmp gear now covers me for small-medium gigs and practices, and don't like to have good gear lying around not getting used.
 20. Ok I lowered the asking price, and still open to trades.
 21. Ok price reduced again, I want rid of this.
I hope everyone is well and enjoying the Christmas session? Has anyone play any good gigs with the kit yet?
I've got a gig at the Rowantree tonight, and i'm taking the puma head and the M210 only. I hope i'm loud enough for the room... 23. I think i've seen one for sale at live music on Wed, eude.
 24. Back for trade and for sale, new pics
 25. I got almost everything: mobile phone radio suitably tuned away from a station, fuzz pedal for more noise, flanger pedal. All I need is a minijack lead to connect the phone to the fuzzbox. I'm at work, so I won't know how it all works together until tonight, can't wait, and thanks for all the advice
