    Still basking in the post gig afterglow of three brilliant gigs this weekend - First up last thurs at theJubilee in Blackburn town centre, a 6pm start for an afternoon celebration of some bloke and a dragon. first time we've played there and i think we might have been one of the first bands which they've had on. Absolutely cracking gig, the first set made up of exclusively english bands....the jam went down especially well, then in the spirit of pc, the rest of the music from all over...we even ended up playin for a third set...well every man has his price! top venue run by top people full of top punters, well worth popping in if there's anything else on! Friday night was another new gig, The New Inn, Castleton, Rochdale. its not often these days when i walk in a pub and i'm the youngest person in there, but with a lifetime's expirence of partying these people knew how to rock out! thought we'd start off with a few 60's classics to get them going, but we needn't have worried about playin anything modern as everything we threw at them went down a storm! again, another great pub trying to get good rep as a music venue.....well worth trying to get in touch with them for a gig! and then to sat night.....Coolers Shaw I may be a bit biased being a shaw gorby, but this place is turning itself into a seriously good music venue. massive stage means there's plenty of room to rock out and throw a few rock poses!....you know the ones - tennis racket in front of the bedroom mirror...or perhaps it should now be the game controller in front of the playsation! massive shout out to the 'kick chicks'! i'm not sure who works it harder! check out the 'THE KICKS......CLASSIC ROCK/PUNK AND MODERN ANTHEMS BAND!' profile on facebook, or mine - ian wild for plenty of mad photo's and videos!!! the hardest working band in the northwest? maybe.....     I've been using the B2RE and th B410HLF for just about a year now. On average about 2 gigs a week & rehersals. I put the head in a Gator case when I bought it. Managed to drop the head a couple of times, and I've slipped and hit the cabinet corner on a brick step and both are still working fine. Both were made in China. I've had loads of compliements about how good & powerful it sounds with my fender P. Never had to take the gain or main volume past three quarters power. I would more than happily recommend it to anyone.

    I'm just working my 'notice' now, for my covers band. I've been with the band for just over two years. Things haven't been working out for a bit. It basically boiled down to them not wanting to gig more than once a week. We had a meeting and although they were pretty miffed, I agreed to help them out for two months. Its been a bit strained at gigs... But now i'm getting a bit frustrated cause I want to be out with my new band on the nights I'm with them. I was quite happy to stay friends and everything, but some of the band have just 'twisted'...like I've 'let the side down'! I don't see it as a big deal...People leave and join new bands all the time, right?

    Fancied a change last night and decided on the spot to use a plectrum all night and change the tone settings on my amp. Made the gig more interesting...! I usually use my index and middle fingers to pluck the strings. I normally have my bass tone set with extra bass and no treble. Last night turned down the bass and boosted the treble. I was suprised to find a liked the results, especially when all the band was playing. I found I could hear myself better. My plucking hand got a bit tired half way through the 2nd set, but mainly because a couldn't decide if i was going to just use downstrokes, or alternate up & down strokes. Nobody else in the band noticed a change....!

    Hello! I have for sale a beautiful example of a Squier Vintage Modified Jazz Bass. [attachment=12858:Front_1.jpg] I have owned this bass from new - I bought it Dec 2006 from Sound Control, Salford. There are very faint surface scratches on back, but these are too small to photograph. [attachment=12859:Back_1.jpg] [attachment=12860:Body_1.jpg] The reason I am selling is because I bought a Fender Precision around Dec 2007 and I just find I'm personally happier with a Precision rather than a Jazz sound. Since I bought the P Bass, this has just been on top of my wardrobe not being used. (in a gig bag!). The bridge has been upgraded with a 'Badass II' and there are 'Schaller' strap locks fitted. The bridge was professionally fitted by 'Matt Ryan Guitar Repairs' [url="http://www.guitarrepairer.com/"]http://www.guitarrepairer.com/[/url] He filed the saddles and then completely set up the guitar. A gig bag, original bridge, Fender guitar strap, plectrums, the fitted Schaller strap locks, a pair of 'grolsch' strap locks and a set of used rotosound 0.45's will be supplied with the guitar.
