Maiden, Metallica, and any other band really. it doesn't matter if you like their music or not, just watch and learn. It's a starting point after all. the best thing is to just let the music take you and be yourself in reaction to it!
got the ac/dc dvd for xmas - every tune is - singer and angus going for it..... malcolm and bass player..... legs akimbo&heads down(oooh....er!) in front of their reespective amps...only coming forward for backing voxs...and then staright back to thier positions...classic!!

 8. New bass - Fender MIM P Bass, 2001. With replacement black scratchplate and Grolsch strap locks. New rig - Ampeg B2RE head and B410HLF cab.
 9. Hi! A few people have asked for pics of the split in the headstock. Here it is - As you can see, its between the E&A string tuners, but it does actually go slightly past the A tuner by a couple of mm. I reckon it could be filled with wood filler and then re-laquered to hide it. This pic also shows the replacement 'Fender' decal. There is another decal with 'contoured body' on the end of the head. I've also taken a picture of the back of the head...this shows the 'vintage style' tuners and the fact that the split doesn't go all the way through - I've had a couple of requests to post it, but the first person to come and collect it will get it!! ....did I mention that I'll throw in a pair of Dunlop strap locks as well?.....

 11. I've just bought an ampeg head and cabinet in a package deal and the order went through real smooth with no probs...a guy called Robin was handling my order.
 12. I've just bought the B2RE and the B410HLF together as a package. Used it for the first time last weekend in a pub gig. Absolutely awesome sounding. More than enough power for the gig - now i'm louder than the drummer!. Got plenty of compliments from fellow band members. We gig pretty regually round the NorthWest so you're welcome to come and have a listen. the band is called barefeet - you can find us on northwestbands.com Ian
 13.
Hi! I have for sale my Squier P Bass in black with a rosewood neck. The guitar has the following modifications - Black pearloid scrachplate (£25). Chrome bridge and pickup covers (£30). Black thumb rest (£10). New tuners (£25). It also has a silver Fender logo decal applied to the head. The guitars electrics are in excellent condition. The body is in fair condition - Light buckle rash Small chip to the paintwork on the side, directly above the pickup A longer scratch around the side of the body near the input jack. However, the main problem is a hairline crack (approx 1mm wide), in the face of the head only (it does not go through to the back of the head), between the E and A string tuners. I did this when putting on the ferrules for the replacement tuners. This damage does not appear to affect the playability of the guitar. For this reason I'm looking for just £50. I paid £70 for it, without the added extras, approx 12months ago from ebay. This would be ideal for someone who wanted a cheap body for a project, with all the extra's included. Collection only with cash on collection. I live in the Oldham/Rochdale area, but would be willing to meet up around the M60 / M62 / M61 areas. If you're interested give me a bell on 07928944489. Thanks Ian
I've just edited this post because I really only want local collection with cash. Thanks, Ian.

 15.
Can anyone recommend a good place for me to take my bass for a check-up and service please? Somewhere that won't charge too much to look, diagnose and quote for work, and then depending on what needs to be done, I can trust to do a good job. Manchester city centre would be convenient but I don't mind travelling for a good service. Thanks in advance. Sparky
I'm no luthier but ... I've just took my P bass to Bonecats in Rochdale. I just bought it on evil bay this weekend and the strings on it were in a shocking condition and the action was way too high. I've got to collect it after work, so I'll let you know how it is later this evening. I've only ever used his services for putting on new strings and setting up, but he's been way cheaper than any one else I've used, and I've always been happy with the results. Ian

 20. I've been wracking my brain trying to remember the titles of a couple of tunes with similar bass line to the Staples Singers 'I'll Take You There'. I know it was sampled by Salt&Pepper, but I'm sure there's an old reggae tune and an early nineties hit by some sort of British rapper who've used the bass line....Can you help???
