1. I'd say the ToneBone BassBone is a good idea...but it would break the bank...so...I don't know but there might be AB / Y pedals out there that go the other way maybe? 2 inputs into one output instead of 1 input into 2 outputs. Either way you want to balance the volume...The BassBone is the one but it's not cheap.
 2. Reserved...will keep you posted.
 3. My next head could well be without Parametric EQ, which I have recently found is great for tweaking the Low and high mids...more low than high for my particular bass...I will miss it and am interested in trying this...never seen it before.
 4.
Sorry, but that's completely wrong. The only difference between shimming at one end of the neck pocket and shimming the whole neck pocket is the thickness of material needed to get the same change in action and the position of the headstock in relation to the body. It's all simple geometry - look at the diagrams I posted.
Well it happened to my Yammie. I was told it would, tried it...it did! Action is the same throughout pretty much.
 5. My Trace cab is heavy...but I LOVE it's sound! Markbass cabs are light...but I don't like the sound. I look at it this way; Once you've moved it and put it down...your not carrying it anymore. So...does the weight really matter? Simple right?
I play better when I'm happy with my sound.
+1 Once rehearsal I just could not stop playing ANYTHNING because I found my perfect tone...I just wanted to hear it over and over. But before that, and sometimes even now if I user other gear, I would go home unsatisfied and would play as little as poss...because my tone was dire. When you love your tone you just want to keep hearing it and playing makes you happier. Now...if I could get my practise level tone to sound the same at volume I'd be a REALLY happy bassist...
 6. What the HELL!? That's so stupid it made me cringe...why would anyone do that? Chop some headstock off and make a 4-string? Adding a string works...loosing one doesn't. I've never heard of this model before either...but I'm not sure. The old Squier series were basic...nothing fancy like this...But again, who knows what's out there! That's just stupid man!
 7.
Right, the 4x8 didn't sell even for the bargain starting price of £185. Anyone on here can have it with the 2 spare drivers for £200+ shipping
Didn't know there was a 4x8...interesting. Good to hear you enjoyed the newer stuff. I'm enjoying my new series 1048H.
 8.
Burn the heratic! Clean just ain't mean ha ha! Never really heard much of the Orange stuff but what I have reminded me of the Marshall type crunch sound which I just don't like one bit. I know they are legendary amps and so many bands have used them but I've used JCM 800s, 900s, DSL2000s, TSL2000s and never really got anything out of them that comes remotely close to the 5150. I won't even metion Marshalls, solid state stuff which to me just sounds horrible.
Nay! This bassist from hell will never burn by the hands of a mortal! haha! Gah Marshall...both myself and said guitarist HATE Marshall! All flabby and no real note def. No, Orange are high gain amps that are starting to get used by more and more metal guitarists lately...Give such a HUGE sound and we play prog metalcore / mathcore but clean is good to have...I say clean it IS all valve so it's more crunch but the distortion channel is a monster! The amp costs £1500 though BTW, most prob why they are legendary yet don't pop up often with local bands. But I wouldn't compare it to a Marshall...they suck! Anything detuned and they just fart and blow air. But as I said, thanks to the Rockerverb I'm now not loud enough...It's REALLY loud!
 9.
I'm a bit above all that Flea stuff, to be honest. I like to be challenged.
Cool...tab out "Death to Theives" by "The Arusha Accord" foe me please. I'm pulling my hair out!!!
 10.
Damn. That 2x10 just about fits the budget i have lately and i really want some trace gear. But Manchester is 200 miles away from me! Good luck with the sale!
Go green! The Govt. has been telling you this for a few years now, you know it make sence.
 11.
Bit of a dilema here... I'm trying to decide which to buy - a Traban Chaos Core 5 or Ibanez SR505. I've tried the SR505, very nice, light quite comfortable. Not tried the Traban though. Price is very similar, but not sure which is better. Musical style would be heavy rock, metal, punk etc. using both pick and fingerstyle. Can't find a dealer in the UK that carries the Traban to try out unfortunately. Anyone got any recommendations?
Traben basses are hard to find in this country. I got one but it took AGES! Almost no one online has one. Anyways, the Chaos Core will give you the sound you want, exposed pole humbuckers always give that Low-mid punchy sound so with 2 you'll geta clear, crisp but punchy sound...could not be considered nasal at all! It would shake the earth (amp / cab allowing) but still retail bell like clarity. Built quality will not match the Ibanez though...BE CAREFUL! The fretwork on some Traben are DIRE! Sharp edges and some don't even span across the board! Neck is thin like Ibanez but rounder like Fender, the board also has a rounder radius to it, less than Fender but more than Ibanez. The Ibanez...I can highly recommend these obviously, I'm a fan of Ibanez. Might not instantly get you the tone you desire though (but you didn't specify, only genres) but is very versatile. Neck is better and build quality 9/10 times faultless, right down the things they COULD hide like the neck pocket...even that is finished to a hight standard! Neck is thin and almost flat, fingerboard is also almost flat. Overall...tone wise the Traben would be best but try before you buy and don't be afraid to be picky! Overall quality, uses and value...the Ibanez is best. Playability? That's down to personal pref so I'll let you try that. They are both VERY easy to play. Hope this helped.
 12.
cut them at the lug they're soldered to (sloppy) or unsolder them (neat)
I can NEVER seem to get the solder on the pots to melt! I have always cut mine because of this but would really like to solder them out next time. ANy particular soldering iron I could use? It's also worth asking, what's the best solder as well. I always used what I could...but I'd like to do it 100% expert next time. Changing a pickup from a cheap one is a great idea. Even changing a good one IF you know what sound you want and know what the pickup can offer. I put a DiMarzio Will Power in my P-bass that is now so heavily modded but it was once a Squier. The pickup change is drastic! It's STILL my loudest bass and the pickup is so sensative you can hammer from nowehere onto the 12th fret and slide down with no effort yet it sounds so big and clear! SO go ahead with the change. 1/4 punders are hot output too...I got a Jazz 1/4 pounder in my Yamaha RBX 270J...It's so much louder than the P-pickup that's in as well (Yamaha is a P/J style). If I ever got another P-bass...if I ever wanted another (I love this one!) I would most DEFO put another Will Power in.
 13. I was lucky to get mine, which I didn't take to as much as I thought in the end. The UK has very limited supply of Traben basses...they don't seem to ship far from the USA at the moment. Pretty much no one will have them in stock...I phoned to find out when I got mine. If anyone really wants a Traben I still have it. It's an Array LTD 5-string, not a Choas though, MM/J pickups etc.
 14.
Assuming parallel wiring (most likely). If they're in series, it'll be 16 Ohms.
Best to go with the panel and say 4 ohms then.
 15. I'm gonna be in the market for wireless soon...My playing on stage has always been nutty...It's fair enough the guitarists have learned to duck ( ) but the cable gets in the way and restricts movement...and expression... I wanna know what this one is like if someone can review.
 16.
aren't these discontinued? I assume you are speaking of Ed Friedland's review. If not, it is well worth a watch.
LOL, the "Bass Whisperer"...He really loved that G&L Tribute L-2500...watched a vid he just didn't put it down...longest review ever! That and the Bongo VI. Great reviewer...knows his stuff and can play! Not too keen on those Yammies...Like the others but not those...I dunno they just don't resonate the way I like. You can get a good sound though but...I like to have some weight reminding me I'm playing a bass.
 17.
MB1. Not sure will have to have a look think its 200 watt its light compared to the 4x10 and will fit in the boot without having to put the seats down would be good for using for rehearsals me thinks(all the relevant cab information has dissapeared....bloody felt tips!)
LOL tell me bout it...sometimes I hijack another cab at rehearsal but it's tough when those felt tip pens fade. AFraid alone this would not cut through my band...would be used with my 4x10 (want to avoid a 15") but @ 4 ohms it cannot.
 18.
The 5150 is a monster amp. Yeah the combo is 60watts which belive me is plenty loud. I swapped the stock Peavey speakers for Celestion GK12-100 and a Celestion Classic Lead. Its the best amp for punk / metal / hardcore that I've ever heard or played through. The only thing that comes remotely close is an Engl. The clean sounds ain't fantastic but who the f*** wants clean guitar??
LOL actually that was the downside when my guitarist went for one...We use clean sounds too and well...the Peavey only does grit...Distortion even on clean haha! So he bought an Orange Rockerverb. :)n Unfortunatly...this amp BLEW my bass rig appart...it just couldn't keep up...So I had to change mine aha...still am! Damn Orange amp...LOUD! Great if you want the grit but it's worth saying that modern metal bands do use clean for sections too. I'd try advertising this on BMTH and Architects forums at the moment as guitarists REALLY want these amps for that sound that is popular at the mo.
 19.
Love my SVT3, but it does suck at 8 ohms in a loud band situation, you need the full 4 ohm load to make it sing. Open to any kind of trades for this'un Pete? Mike
Yeah I was gonna jack it to the other cab in the room but that was a 4 ohm cab...with my 8 ohm cab would put me under the 4 ohm minimum. Anything under 300 watts in a loud band situation sucks...Bet it's awesome @ 500 watts!
 20. Nice selection...so you DO let them go after all? LOL I see you put the badge of the new series cabs (like my recent purchase)...nice and shiny! What's the power handling on the 2x10? Not sure I could use it though...That would put me under 4 ohms minimum with my 4x10! HUGE ports at the top though...Ah, who needs light weight when you have BEEFY cabs like this?
 21.
Misery Signals are probably one of my all time favourite bands. MOTMH is such a great record. Not a massive fan of Mirrors or Controller tho.
I favour Mirrors...Don't like Controller as much though...first off it's WAY too tinny! Mirrors has a full band sound. I'm pretty sure it WAS them when I saw a Gibson ripper (Natural with maple board)...They supported Architects but I cannot remember the name of the other band...Dead Swans was it? Going to see the Arusha Accord this Friday...you should check em out if you liked Sikth. Anyways...Guess this is a bump and parcial advertising on the bass LOL!
 22. Looks exactly like my OLP MM3 cept with active EQ. VERY easy to play...VERY well built IMO. Worth changing the bridge to make use of the neck width.
 23. Nice P-bass special alternative. Hit my bass quota right now so unless trades are on the cards I, unfortunatly cannot.
 24.
I wish I could afford to have kept this, I don't need compression but I loved this thing, sounds great, lot of unqiue features, and I'm pretty sure you could drop a nuke on it and it wouldn't even dent it, have a completely unnecessary previosu owner endorsment bump
Just like evrything Trace, you could do that same to my cab. These are worth holding onto...It's a shame you had to sell it.
