1. Don't do it! Go and have a cold shower at once
2. Looks original btw, knobs seem consistent with late 70's Jazz's. Personally I would leave it as is.
3. Ah yes, the old SQ, owned a few of them too! Some lucky bugger in Brighton owns one now with a Jazz pickup installed, was another cracker I foolishly let go. As Mr Lager said, definately worthy of a sticky.
4. That Sir, was superb. Well done. That JV brings a tear to my eye, reminds me of one I let go years ago
5. I used this guy http://www.dm-guitars.co.uk/paintwork.htm Fantastic job, and very reasonable price.

7.
My vote goes to Schroder 1212L. This is an amazing cab 2 x 12 with one facing forward and one angled. I have plaayed bass for over 30 years and have never come across a better sounding cab than this and so light too. Throughly recommended and after sales service is superb.
+1 Great cab. It really does the business in all departments.
8. I use a Schroeder 1212L with a Littlemark and it works great for me. Very portable too, which was a big factor in my decision as I have a hernia
9. Splendid, sounds great. Gonna have to get me some
10. Nice job, thanks. Which p has the Thumpers? Im considering getting a set
11. Bump for a great cab. Have the same one used in a very loud 3 piece and it really does the business. Very easy to move around. Great price too I might add.
12. I had the same situation with my 80's Squier Jazz and got Sims to make a b/w/b from the old white one as a template. Great result, quick turn around.
13. Horn up top for me.
14. Im a Precision/Jazz man and have never been a fan of Stingrays, look and soundwise, but Joe Lally from Fugazi and Jamie Stewart on early Death Cult stuff produce(d) a tone I really love. Both quite aggressive players.
15. Learnt on a double bass in the music room at school. First proper bass, a red Marlin Sidewinder.
16. Had some TI flats, really nice but a bit floppy for my taste, use them for recording now and then. Now got Labella 760 fl's on my 75 P. I'm stunned at how good they sound, massive woody tone and a great tension. Perfect for the harder stuff we play.
17. Welcome, and I hope you're an Ipswich supporter We would all love to see your collection up in the porn section.
18. We use Karma in Stoke Newington. Does the job nicely.
19. Ive lusted after that bass for many years for looks and sound. He gets an awesome pic sound out of that Jazz. As for colour it is either a very rare custom finish or a refin. Never seen anything like it. Would love it anyone knew. Apparently his son now uses it.
20. Ooof, nice. Sounds boodiful through my headphones. Sounds just how a P should. Would be perfect if the camera just stayed close up on the P
21. Ahha, I wonder which 15 cab that is
22. Nice one. You do get to play some nice spacious stages! How are you getting on with the Schro?
23.
Snap (P bass too) LMII and Schro cabs, just made for each other. These things are the enemies of osteopaths everywhere!
Top man, I have to say Im very envious of your P!
24.
Wow, that's a really compact cab! It looks about the same size or smaller than my Aguilar GS112 when it's on it's end! I've often thought about getting my grubby ol' mitts on a Schroder cab, just so I can have a single cab 4 Ohm solution. Hmm, well my 30th is coming up soon, might see if I can treat myself... Cheers, for the GAS, Eude
Thanks for the comments folks I needed a smaller cab mainly because of a hernia that I dont want popping again and this certainly solves that problem whilst delivering volume and tone that keeps up with my very loud 3 piece band. It sounds like a cliche now but my bandmates really are blown away by the sound. My singer/guitarist has played/toured with me for over ten years now and Ive had full on SVT rigs etc and he reckons this set up just sounds much better. They are pricey but I suggest you treat yourself sir! jonthebass Posted Today, 12:09 PM oooh - what the age & spec of that lovely looking white P bass you have there? The white P is 75/76. Ive had it refinned an aged oly, it actually looks a bit more yellow/greeny in the flesh. Had a refret at The Gallery, they did a splendid job. When I got it, it had been played to buggery (for good reason) but its now in tip top condition, I didnt want it reliced as I can now play it without worrying about the odd ding etc. Its very light at around 8 pounds, which goes against the 'mid-late 70's Fenders are all heavy crap' speel, has a slight overhang on the neck pocket but the neck fits snuggly to the top with no gap and the strings all line up pretty straight. Tone wise, all the pickups and guts are original and produces a really nice fat tone with a nice woody growl, I'm guessing its swamp ash that makes it so light and resonant. All in all a lovely P! Raggy Posted Today, 12:06 PM Great looking set-up there. Nice choice of patio slabs also!! Kinda Curvey!! The slabs came with the gaff, cant be arsed to change them!
25.
Is that a 0.88 Tortex I see?
LOL, theres nothing getting passed you boys this morning
