1. Quite like the idea of this.

However - I'm happy with my head and cab. I would quite like to use some of the more strange effects within my pedalboard... Presume you could run in/outs on the sonic port as per normal board? Can you disable the amp in some of these apps?

Eg could I run Bass > Tuner > Octave > Fuzz > Sonic Port > Synth > reverb (for example)?

Thats a great build! Can I ask, what do you use to make your templates from? I'm starting a build soon, and want to make a master template to use more than once.

I'd also love to know some more info on installing LED's! Am I asking you to reveal too many secrets on that one. :D

Hey man - I'd ping Ou7shined a message :) Sure he'd be willing to assist!

I'll try and get some recordings as soon as :)

^^^dream on ;)

Never know :) never thought the bass whammy would be reissued!
If Akai were to make a reissue they could make ot the ultimate synth - usb editting, multiple wave forms and a bloody "down" button built in!

I can dream! On the plus side they're coming down slowly... Just gotta get one at a price im willing to pay!

Dunno if this has been mentioned but I was reminded of this build when I spotted this bass on eBay:

Has anyone heard anything new about the release date on the bass whammy? Can't wait to get my hands on one of these, the Whammy IV has become my most used pedal over the past year so this is perfect timing :D

Andertons had end of March - but I got another email afterwards saying May. So it's totally confusing.

Received my Grand tarkin the other day. Still to play it but a pic below.

Tom changed the frequency response of the clean blend to allow addition of pure low-end under the fuzz. Looking forward to running this with the band!

That sounds pretty cool - is it running into the meatbox? I'll bet that sounds demonic! :D

This is because bass players by and large are regarded by everyone who doesn't personally play music (and the vast majority that do) as failed guitarists... it's only got four strings, you don't play chords or widdly solos etc... hence when they see a good bass player you are seen to be playing bass like a guitar (ie. well)
Dunno - I've seen many a bass player playing as though they were playing massive chords/dreadnought guitars. That looks like playing bass like a guitarist.

imo.

8. In a world where it's only the bad stuff about companies mentioned, Thought I'd let people know of the great service I received today.

I ordered a certain pedal ( ) last night, forgot to use my loyalty points - thought bugger it, I'll try and get the cash back today.
Emailed the guys and got a response within about 2 minutes saying it was no problem and I'd be refunded the points value asap.

I know it's not much - but the speed and the fact they're willing to do this is great :) It's the little things that count!

Very pleased :)

9. I decided to get Rich to go a little nuts on the paint/polishing again - so it's currently having a little holiday where she'll come back relaxed, cleaned and looking fantastic.
Which I should add I visited her the other night.... Oh my sweet baby jesus - the purple is looking amazing. He also went back and made the neck even better (which I didn't think possible!) - I can't even think of a description! But it's lovely. So smooth and lush.

She'll be coming back with a new hipshot xtender and some nice new aurora black strings (possibly purple depending if I stick em on my lakland!)

I have a ticket for moffat so will be with me (unless I get stuck offshore...) - so anyone who wants to see the Purple Beastie up close is welcome to give her a shotty.

Get photos up as soon as you receive this! Sounds fantastic :)

Just to make you feel even better about the TK-421-x ;) I've just sold a Rat Tail on to our guitarist, having picked one up from Joe's a couple of weeks ago so I could compare with the COG and my old Turbo Rat. The COG destroys the Fuzzrocious! Bizarrely the Rat Tail was my least favourite of the three...Don't know if it's the tin-can LM308 but quite an excessive top-end roll off, and I found the clipping on the highs to be a bit brittle and fizzy? Just couldn't get that "Clank" out of it on the low-gain settings, which is what I love about the original and the COG.

The clean LPF/blend on the COG is just ingenious, makes it SO versatile! I'm very intrigued about the HPF on yours :)
For sure man!
The HPF is to give a little nasal sound if possible. Aiming for an animato type sound.

Tom's description - "it will kill people and destroy your enemies".

11. Since there seems to be more and more of the excellent COG units appearing on basschat - thought it would be a cool idea to have them all in one place where we can drool/dream/discuss all things COG.

Here is my LS-2 on steroids.

Swaps between A then B or A + B, with level controls for both sections, phase switches on both and amazing Solid Snake etching :)

I've also got a new unit on the way, which was the brain child of my brain and imagination going wild, and Tom assisting heavily!
It's the GREY FUZZ?! (no affiliation towards the stache!), but not so much of a nod but a full blown point at Grey Fox from metal gear (Cyborg Ninja). It will house 2 fuzz circuits (TK-421-x and Grand Tarkin) with HPF and LPF on the TK and usual tone controls from the Tarkin. It will have 3 inputs over all (in TK, in Tarkin, In clean) but can be ran with one cable into a single input (and both circuits work!). The 3rd input will have a feed from after my tuner (before oc2) into another octave/compressor and just be insane.

Hopefully with this artwork - http://4.bp.blogspot...Bbackground.jpg - and of course, a single LED on the Ninja mask, Far too excited for this!

So come on, get yer cogs oot!
