  1. bump. Weird time for selling it seems. I’m in Glasgow tomorrow and Monday if anyone fancies it!
  2. Bump. I’m in Glasgow tomorrow and Monday if anyone down there would fancy.
  3. I was a solid 4 player before last year, I kept trying fives but never seemed to work. Until I properly sat down and went “hang on… this works!”. I don’t know if I’ll ever play my 4’s now either!
  4. Ah man. So sorry to read this. To echo, here is a decent place. Doesn’t always sell quick but people are generally decent. Think I’ve only had one experience where I was irked. Facebook groups can be okay too, just have your wits about you.
  5. Okay, I’ve ended up purchasing a new QC and a new bass. So this needs to go. Been listed on eBay and had it sold and loads of questions; then silence.
  6. this is one of my favourite hacking scenes ever. So silly.
  7. I never thought I’d scroll onto a thread about a reverb scammer and be met with network talk. The IP block person did say a slightly correct bit; you want to inconvenience the attacker. Any system on this planet has a way in. It’s a case of making it really awkward and annoying to the attacking source. Generally slow them down until they get bored. Obviously, this won’t apply to higher level players quite so well. That doesn’t mean that blocking an IP/range would work. Like people said, it’s a very broad strokes approach and will burn loads of people/potential customers for very little gain. People, Process, Technology. Teach people to be more cautious, have processes in place to ensure they are protected, have systems in place to block accounts etc. Anyway, on a scam related note; I wanted to grab a HX Stomp in case my QC dies. Saw one on a bass group on Facebook for a reasonable but slightly cheaper than usual and messaged the guy. Very quickly I was asked to transfer money into his girlfriend or wife’s account…then another random account. Bit of a red flag moment. I was out with my wife for a weekend away and didn’t open my phone for hours. He had messaged me loads of times throughout the night 😂
  8. Ayeee I’m giving a rough base for what I’d need. 160 / 105 / 0.76 / 0.59 / 0.43 is looking like would give “similar” tension according to that calculator (using Kalium strings). I know that V-Man is using Status (and has an sig model), which is 4 string tuned to B - so hoping Rob will confirm they’ll be okay.
  9. Truth be told I only tweaked the G# for that image! Current gauge is .150 .098 .076 .057 .043 If I adjust the numbers to try and match my current setup. I get the below. Am I best to try and aim for 40lbs of tension? Least according to that site at least.
  10. Hey folks! So I’ve decided to move back to Status basses because as much as I loved the dingwall sound, I loved my Status sounds (and basses!) more! So my issue is that I’m tuned G# D# G# C# F#… on my Dingwall that low G# is a .150 from Newtone. It works great and the sounds that are up to A# are possible without making the string super tight, and the G# isn’t loose and so flubby. Problem is the Dingwall has a 37” scale, and my status will have a 34” low B string. anyone any idea on gauges to use? Dawn @ Status is going to speak with Rob and get his thoughts. Previously on my 4 string Status basses, I was tuned CGCF with 110-50s. I can imagine the gauge will need to increase but not sure by what… edit: tried a calculator online. This seem alright?
  11. I’m heading to Glasgow at the weekend to see The Gaslight Anthem. Had an absolutely pish few weeks so looking forward to chilling out.
  12. I have a 2023 Afterburner 1 5 string in Matte Vintage White I’ve decided to sell. Only for the fact that one of my dream basses has appeared (another Status Graphite bass). I bought it in December from a shop in the UK. Specs attached in the image also. Colour in person is not quite as “stormtrooper” as shown. The image from my kitchen shows with standard lighting. Bit more vintaged funnily enough. 😊 bass sounds as awesome as you’d expect. I’m in Aberdeen, Scotland and can ship. I’m not hugely keen on sending outwith the UK but open to discussion as the fees could be mental and I’ll only ship with it fully insured. Would be looking at £4,000 plus shipping.
  13. I bought this from my guitarist and it’s been excellent. But I’ve found I don’t need it! Don’t intend to run into an amp and I built a tone yonks ago on the quad cortex and I absolutely adored it. So - decided to go back to that (and grab a hx stomp or something as a backup). The bag has a wee bit of damage - just the hook that the strap hooks on (it still attaches, just not to the direct hook) and apparently the zip on the bottom. I genuinely didn’t even realise there was a zip there. The bag can be bought online if you’re bothered. It will come with the remote to control it and new cables. It’s got a few marks apparently. I’ve never once even looked at it as I used Midi for everything. 600w and loads of tonal options, if you’re a muse fan, I could load the profiles from Chris and Matt’s Kemper’s (they sold them on reverb with the patches). Or send you them. Dealers choice. It’s surprisingly light. More than happy to ship.
  14. Just noticed you’ve had it confirmed to be a scam. Shaders eh.
  15. Verf-revrb.com doesn’t seem legit. I wouldn’t proceed. Are you selling items? Take a look on your dashboard on https://reverb.com and see what is there. I would imagine it won’t be there, and in the event it’s showing your account needing verification; I’d follow that route rather than a link.
  16. Could be open to interesting trades too, potentially other Dingwalls (5 strings only) or potentially something like a fractal FM9 or axe fx maybe.
  17. They still have that cab?! I played my first ever gig when I was 16 in Drummonds and used that! I’m 35 now 😂 like neepheid said, give us a holla and we’ll try and talk you through! What style are you? Happy to give the promoters details if you’d like (and don’t already have!) 😊
  18. Yeahhh Aberdeens a nightmare. Everytime I go out I find a different road closed. “Thankfully” we only seem to gig Krakatoa (aka the moorings) so I just park in the NCP 2 mins away. 15 quid for an average gig is a bit of a stinger like. How was the gig?
  19. We moved to IEMs, but proper cheap and dirty approach. I run a Kemper into our mixer (which is actually an audio interface), guitarist is using plugins and VSTs. We use a splitter cable for vocals and fire into the interface. Then mix in Ableton (which includes the click track) into a cheap IEM box. Output goes to the iems and guitar and synths come out to separate DIs. I use another output on the Kemper (or QC, or Darkglass - as has evolved in the past while) Everything IEM (and guitar/laptop) fits in a 2U case. We can be setup in 5 mins. Minus the drummer. He takes a while. edit: should say - we play originals and don’t need our own PA etc.
  20. I agree. We have 2 music shops up here and both are very low level on the bass side. Couple low level fenders usually.
  21. Bought my guitarists Kemper powerhead, but control everything with midi so this is surplus. some marks on the unit. comes with replacement van damme cables. Based in Aberdeen, can ship.
  22. My next gig is next Saturday. It’s the only show we have booked this year. Last gig was like October maybe. I’d love to do more gigs, but we’re an originals metal band and only one venue near us puts shows on. The band won’t likely gig out of our city due to family constants. I could potentially push for an hour away, but that would be it…. But alas, struggling to get promotors to get back to us. No agent or anything, no one else except me tries to get shows generally. Money would be great… but £40/£50 is often the max places pay. With 4 of us, and usually a cost to get the venues video footage. We all know that we do this as a break from reality.
  23. So - update. I’m gonna try and send it back. It sounded awesome on its own, but in a band mix it vanished. The bigger brothers can mix direct signal or a parallel chain… you can’t on the player. Tested on a proper powerhead and the clean bass/low end was back. Kemper have reportedly said features might be released in future, so this might be one.. absolutely gutted as I loved the wee unit! Hugely surprised that something which could be immensely used by bassists, doesn’t have this feature.
  24. I bought this brand new a few months back. It’s the baby brother of the DC7, and an absolutely awesome power supply. These beasties will power more or less anything if you use the correct cable! I had in my rack powering my Darkglass ADAM and our IEM unit. I was trying to figure out how to power the Kemper player but decided to use the power head instead so this supply isn’t needed anymore. I think I still have the box and cables for it 😊 based in Aberdeen, shippings absolutely fine. https://cioks.com/power-supplies/future-power-generation/cioks-sol/ for all the info
