2. I just had a look as I read this at Orange dealers and saw Red Dog music! Will have to arrange a wander down in the next few weeks...
3.
Any news?...
Well yeah - it's not good news though... The paint wouldn't cure to the wood so we decided to the most horrible thing ever Stripped it back completely for it to be resprayed.
I hear it's being remodelled into a rickenfaker
Hahah never! I have some taste Sorry to the ric fans
4. Hi guys, This might be a REALLY long shot - but I'm looking to try out the OTB (not fussed about the 1000 or 500). Does anyone have one I could try. I would off course pay shipping both ways or if you're near by I'm happy to have a drive down. Alternatively, does anyone know anywhere in Scotland which has in stock? Any assistance would be amazing Dave
5.
In my opinion there are a LOT of idiots out there in music and you tend to come across them in auditions and I could go into the problems I've had but I'll save that for another day . The one thing that I'm curious about is as the band gets more professional does their attitude improve ? For example I'm pretty much at the botttom of the food chain, my gear isn't great and my playing isn't in any way special so the bands I try out for are the ones who will play a gig in a local pub on a Tuesday night in front of 5 people and consider it a big deal. Unfortunatley the people I meet for audtions are generally not that nice and seem to have an inflated view of their own importance Do the bands that are higher up ,make money out of it and are better musicians behave more professionally ?
I would say no... I went for a function band audition a few weeks ago (£500-1000 per night), asked which songs they'd like me to learn - so they sent me the set list of about 90 songs. I asked if they had a selection they'd like to do and was told "Nah just anything mate". Hmm fair enough.... Went to the audition after learning about 10 songs of their set only to be told each time "Oh we havent done that one in ages - dunno if I can remember it." Had to pretty much learn other songs they'd been doing on the spot, Managed to do them to an alright level and finished up feeling slightly confident about blagging it. "Yeah mate - we're totally impressed - we've got another couple of guys to try out but we'll let you know by next week regardless." They said a few days before the audition that they had very little interest and hadn't played together in months... Yet they somehow had other folk auditioning? Huh - strange... I've yet to hear back from them.
6.
I'm only 40 miles north of you give or take, Welcome!
What he said! And yes - you WILL buy lots of toys here.
7. Oil Sykes is a douche of the highest order. I still want to know if the jäger/piss incident was true. Also detest Liam Gallagher, that razor light dude and any singer who tries to sound/look like John lennon.
8.
I don't suppose the ministar's for sale is it?
It wasnt - but I'm not using it. Aren't they worth about 200 new?
9. Will swing past if i can get down
10. Your signal chain is mental! That must be scary if something doesn't work at a gig! Any idea how much cable you have?
11. The thought of carrying that would be horrible!
12.
Cheers dude - We'll be in Bolton on June 4th... Nothing in the diary for Manchester yet... soon hopefully! I think that happens for every gig doesn't it!! What time are you guys playing?
Waiting for the announcement of a full UK tour!
13.
I've just bought that type of adaptor for my Jacques chorus pedal from here: http://www.effectpowersupplies.com/mini-jack-plug-adaptor-12-p.asp Great to deal with - very impressed with them. Also bought a power supply from them which is really good.
Effectspowersupplies are great.
14. Why do people bid on this stuff?! It just looks bad used!
15. Post your thoughts mate once you get it! I'm tempted by going for a gig bag instead of hardcase.
16. I think Wayne said they sounded good? But are absolute monsters to move?
17. Bought Andre's Soundblox Multiwave Distortion. Great guy - Great comms and very prompt shipping. ta
18. I was thinking this was Saruman's band. I have actually forgotten his name.... :| EDIT: Christopher Lee?
19. If I had £400 I'd totally buy this. Road Tax and Download ticket has stopped it.
20.
Enquiring minds want to know, did you ever get the DHA pedal running noise free? I've just started having issues with mine (VT1 drive only as I'm a cheapskate using the standard 1200mA supply from Dave), and was looking at the GigRig supplies as well. Thanks Phil
I was advised on here to try amazon - so i've got a supply at home i'm waiting to test. I have no room for it now though (so if it's noise free expect it for sale kids!)
21. I want to see Our Helical Mind and radge against the machine.
22. havent had a chance to use it yet been away for work and was in new york. Once the other 2 pedals arrive they will all be road tested to within an inch of their lives. eBay and Basschat are evil websites for GAS hah
23. Righty - my new boards almost done - Just waiting on two other fx to complete it. I had to take off the DHA (after getting a psu for it too!) but I think I'm happy. No idea why it appeared sideways - its the right way on Photobucket! Chain goes like this:- Bass > Tuner > Feedback Loop > Amp Feedback loop > OC2 > Blender > EQ > Dubscope > Source Audio multiwave distortion > Source Audio BEF > IE Xenograph (with exp output) Blender loop a: Deep Impact Blender loop b: SFX Blue Dragon Blue Dragon Loop: Tech 21 XXL > IE Oxide. Or at least it will once it's all cabled/velcro'd. Got a Diago Powerstation on the way also
