1.
Hmmm..... been in some dodgy places in the west of Scotland too. Unfortunately, phoning the police is simply not the done thing - it would actually make it worse (the police are, of course, mostly useless and you would definitely get stabbed or a kicking). Having said that, most of these nutters are full of sh*t and getting into a conversation with them is too complicated for them. What you should have said is, "sure mate, we'll play anything you like". He won't notice you didn't and if he does swear blind you did and claim he must have been outside for a fag. Just don't get into arguments with these low-lives!! I was told once something along the lines that if I didn't support the right football team I wasn't getting out of the place alive. I just laughed and said I was from England where they don't have proper football Note to dmmcombe7 above who appears to live 10 mins up the road from me.... stay away from Viewpark
Heh I played a venue in Glasgow that seemed to accodate for skinhead nazi's! Major fear when one shouted "I'll HAE THE BASS PLAYER!" No. No you will not. *Run away*
 2. Thats pretty mental. I'd have have reported them. I'd also name and shame the venue - if enough people bugger off the gigs, the management might listen then.
 3.
2 M9s live, what is this madness?!
Madness.... Madness?!? THIS. IS. DUBSTEP! Sorry - Couldn't help myself
 4.
I found the DHA VT2 brilliant but very sensitive to the quality etc of power supply. To be fair Dave is very clear on the need to power properly. This all sounds like an ideal way to get the most out of a VT2.
In all honesty - I've never used it. It buzzed and hummed like a bitch. Kinda just ignored it. If it worked for a light distortion I'd be very happy!
 5. Funnily enough I'm doing the exact same just now. I'm looking at a gigrig setup - so 5000mA to play with! I think I need about 1800 or so. Shep raised a good point in my thread - power supplies are like amps - so need some headroom. Might be worth baring that in mind.
 6.
That'll be fine mate - looking at the pedals left over there is nothing horrid so I'd bang that on an email to dan. My Prediction. 1 Generator 2 Distributors 1 SupaNova (for DHA) 1 Reverse Polarity adapter (for DHA) The SupaNova may be swapped for something else depending on how the DHA take to the power consumption.
Cheers mate - Sent him a mail.
 7.
1200mA for the DHA - really!!!!? I imagine all the others will be very low draw and wouldn't worry about them too much. Nothing digital and demanding there. Does everything work on centre negative supplies? Source Audio BEF is 145mA max according to the manual.
well it's 500mA - but the site says to use the 1200mA. http://www.davehallamps.co.uk/page29.html I think all centre negative except the DHA.
 8. Right so far I have..

Akai Deep Impact (9v 180mA -)
Iron Ether Oxide (9v -)
Iron Ether Xenograph (9v -)
SFX loop (9v -)
SFX Blue Dragon (9v -)
CoPilot Dubscope (9v -)
Boss OC2 (9v 4mA -)
Source Audio BEF (9v 250mA -)
Boss TU2 (9v 55mA -)
Possibly DHA VT2 thingy - (12v 1200mA +)
Have emailed Max, Adam and Taylor about the SFX, CoPilot and Iron Ether ones. The email form on the source audio site doesn't work - but the "suggested psu" is 9v 250mA so used that.
 9.
Ta Da! The Generator will work a treat. Pretty much everything is 9v. The DHA might be 12v but the SupaNova adapter will take care of that. The high draw stuff may need some tweaking so you need to do the following. Rewrite your list above and confirm and voltages you are unsure about. List the polarity of each pedal. Add the draw (mA) next to each pedal is you can - particularly any high draw units (say 250mA +). Email it to Dan @ GigRig. He will work out if any special adapters are needed. When you get the stuff. If anything doesn't play ball, let Dan know and he'll tweak/adjust/modify adapters for you as you go (some pedals react odd in chains even when on paper they are fine!) until its perfect. I would think you'll just need an adapter for the DHA plus the cheap polarity changers for each pedal that centre positive (if any are), though if any have a huge draw then something may be needed (Deep impacts draw?). Email Dan and he'll tell you exactly what you need. Wicked product and even better service & after care.
Cheers mate. Now the fun part of finding out that info! The Deep Impact isin't as high as I thought (180mA) - though that does explain why it doesn't like my current 450mA one!
 10. That would be brilliant if I could power them all. Also be even better if I could have nice and tidy cables! Need to buy some lengths of cable and george l's too I think.
 11.
I think you wanna ask Shep on this one!
Hah I imagine he'll be along soon. I think he's like us and lives in this forum!
 12. Well thats the thing, with the switching loop; the deep impact, blue dragon, oxide are always on (so thats 4 at once) - so about 6 at once? maybe 7? Thats actually quite scary... I'm using a cheapo soundlabs thing that puts out 450mA and i'm waiting for the day it packs in. lasted several years so far..touch wood.
 13. Yup - I'd say synth pedal. Deep impact has a sound very like that - its one I actually use lots. Havent tried the EHX BMS to comment.
 14. Agree with buying 2nd hand. I did that when we had our own practice space. Cost me 400 quid I think?
 15. Hey guys, Anyone used their modular setup before? i'm toying with the idea of getting the generator and 2 distributors. Would love to just use a single plug for everything! Also saves me needing to rewire my plug everytime I choose to change the location of the power supply (or in todays case - removing it to sell the board). Can it power stuff like the DHA pedals? And my Deep Impact? I dont know current for it just now - but with 5000mA to play with I'd assume it would (if the jack fits) Looking to power:-

Akai Deep Impact (9v)
Iron Ether Oxide (9v)
Iron Ether Xenograph (9v)
SFX loop (9v)
SFX Blue Dragon (9v)
CoPilot Dubscope (9v?)
Boss OC2 (9v)
Source Audio BEF (9v)
Boss TU2 (9v)
Possibly DHA VT2 thingy - (Lord knows..)
Likely to work? Or should i just live with a second cable? Maybe go for TRex fuel tank or the voodoo labs one? It'll be underneath a PT-Pro so hidden out of sight. Thoughts anyone? Dave
 16.
Welcome to the start of your journey; it's long and expensive...and fun.
Never a truer word!
 17.
Oh, if only I didn't need a decent amp so I could buy meself a Xero/Oxide combo..
My amp plans are put on hold for the next 6 months or so. Unless some kind sole wants to buy my power amp/speakers/pt2 hahaha
 18. Decided to sell. Great sized board for most people this. I'm just a pedal freak!
 19. I have to update this:- I was fancying a Xenograph - so emailed Taylor tonight. 2 mins later I had an email back from him. Absolutely amazing service! He answered everything I asked and has been a total gent! I now have a toy on the way.
 20.
Reviving an old thread here ... trying to get close as possible to the sound as this number is all about the effect (as many Muse basslines are). Having viewed threads here and on Talkbass, watched many YouTube clips I am guessing either a Digitech Synth Wah or EHX Bassballs is required. I have never ventured into the world of the envelope filter so any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Note I cannot afford an Akai Deep Impact even if I wanted to look for one!
Heh was gonna say the deep impact does it amazingly.. You know theres 1 for sale here: £400? Totally should rock one
 21. I went to an audition for a covers band:- they sent me the set (which had about 100 songs on it) - didn't say which to learn... and when I suggest a few I'd learned (varying styles etc) I was told "Ah we've not done that one for ages" I assume I didn't get it!
 22.
I had the same thing - except I booked with Parcel2go (Still with UPS though). Were meant to collect on Friday but I'm still waiting! Thankfully its being collected from my office.
Thankfully mine was just collected.
 23.
I think it depends what you're looking for. The singer and I are researching this quite a lot at the moment. Generic things we've picked up (although this is with metal). - Look confident, move with the music in general - Look at the crowd / look around - Adopt a wider stance than normal (was very odd to me too begin with but actually feel LESS of a pillock than before - Interact with the environment, rest on monitors etc - Interact with the rest of the band, move over to where the guitarist is playing, go rock out with the singer - Know when to blend into the background so that you're not all competing for attention at once - When walking across a stage (assuming your stage IS big enough to walk on) try to walk in time with the music Would love for others to add to this list
This is a good one. I tend to have a stage persona. Eg - I'm fairly quiet offstage but when I get up there, I just go wild. Also - we as musicians are the paid (normally) entertainment, got to actually entertain! I hate seeing bands just standing on stage. No movement etc - doesnt even look like the guys on stage are happy to be there!
