I play a Warwick Stage I through it, and I'm repeatedly impressed by it when I'm playing with my band. My settings kind of look 'wrong' and on its own it doesn't so great but in the mix it is something else.
Could never get the tone i wanted from it. Good pedal defo but there was just something i couldnt click with. Also it wasnt actually mine. I decided on the iron ether oxide - so thats currently winging its way to me. Maybe try pairing with the mastatron. As an FYI - i got the tone i liked from the mastotron then pushed it to insanity with the mammoth.
2. Just up the road from you is Dennis Marshall - He'd probs get it working.

4. Its soul destroying when an instrument is nicked I had my old warwick nabbed out my car -left my wallet in a mates flat and ran up to get it). Thankfully I chased the little bawbag down and got it back would love to hear more of this story!
5.
Pity your ad doesn't read... 'wanted GB fretless.. this for trade... think that's a gorgeous looking bass, love the Montego look.. if mine sells.... Good luck Andy
Sorry mate - I'm appauling with fretless. All i ever do is slide up really high on them.
6. I lasted 12 seconds (damn why's that ALWAYS happen )
7. paint a normal black one perhaps? Not kidding btw.
8.
I'd love to try this out xD
Welcome to mate - just give me a shout.
How does the mammoth suit active basses?
I wont lie - It appears to hate them Or it does at least with me. Apparently a buffer helps out but i've not been able to test this. Might try and setup my sfx blue dragon and see if it works.
9. Does it need to be new? coughcough
10. This a lovely bass - if you change your mind mate let me know Good luck!
11.
Yes! This looks perfect! First response to the thread and you've nailed it. I love this place Are there any alternatives worth considering? Edit: I've just noticed the 'mix' portion of X&M is mixing the relative levels of the high and low bands - I was after mixing the effected signal with the clean, which is a slightly different kettle of fish. If that pedal had a master wet/dry knob it'd be perfect
Max does custom designs/Ideas also. Email him I've had 2 pedals customised by him
12. +1 for Max at SFX. The guy is a god among men when it comes to building fx units.
13.
Wow stunning bass, have a bump for being a cat owner
Haha cheers mate - Though the pictures (and cat!) are shockwaves - I'll take the bump anyway
14.
ooohhhh it's gaaawwwwjussssss sadly, no £900 here
Cheers mate
15. Is it std Status spacing? What are the customisations?
16. Okay - The trade offer fell through - So this is back for sale (£900) or trade (Something? I'm not a P bass man though - PM me? Pref 4 string I think..) Can confirm that the preamp issues i was having was a mixture of the battery and amp having too much gain. Brilliant sound though. Got my eye on something so please get in touch! Cheers guys.
17. Hey folks, I've decided on my new fuzz pedal (I was looking for something that handled active basses better and a bit of a different sound) so this is now surplus to requirements. I'll take pictures when i'm home tomorrow evening. This is a brilliant fuzz pedal that most of you already know how it sounds. Chris Wolstenholme from Muse has used (uses?) this before. Gives a brilliant gated synthy fuzz sound. Link this with another fuzz pedal (the mastotron for example) and you have an amazing setup which gives a LOVELY fuzz tone. The mammoth gives a lush sound on its own - but i preferred running both at the same time. The mastotron maybe for sale too soon. I'm looking for what i paid for the pedal when i bought it - £150 - Postage will be 5 for the UK. Dave
18. Hey guys - it was indeed the batteries had crapped out on me. Replacements just fitted and its now a monster. Still not sure about keeping it though! Thanks for all the advise!
19.
Iron Ether Oxide?
Really like the sound of this. also looking at the team awesome fuzz machine. anyone used it?
20. Hey guys, Sorry about this but i'm out of ideas... Looking for a fuzz to finally end my GAS issue! I'm needing a fuzz that plays well with the zvex mastatron (sp?) Currently with the mammoth which sounds good - but it hates active basses... Ive tried (in no order):- blowtorch, ashdown drive, several boss, muffs, rats and even a guvnor. I want something in the vein of chris wolstenholme (uprising for example). Ideally with a smallish footprint. So - my bass playing brothers and sisters- go nuts - what would you suggest? Dave
21. Okay i've decided to provisionally trade this. so its on hold. ta
