1.
This is a great cab, especially for the price it's going for. I used one on a gig, with a 6 string tuned down to A. It can definately handle the full range of anything you put through it, an absolute monster!
Exactly. Its an amazing cab.
2. Bump up again. £550. I can look into Postage if needed. I need a decent power amp and decent USB interface with decent ins/outs. Prosonus USB thing for example. Anyone?
3. I dont really practice my moves as it were. More just let the feel take me! Which usually happens in practice too. Just makes sure you know what your hands are doing so its 2nd nature for them. If i'm doing fairly tech stuff i can mess up when i try showing off! Good luck.
4. That is a nice bass. If only I had cash. Have a bump on me.
5. nice bass - looks like someones going to get a steal maybe.
6. Hi - totally forgot to update this. Afraid everything has gone. ta for all the interest
7. Hey all, This is a long shot but... Myself and a few mates have started putting gigs on in Aberdeen (and further in a few months). Our next is Sunday 15th May - We're having some problems getting bands to stick this time so i'm offering a gig to anyone who fancies it. Give me a shout if you're in a band which could get to Aberdeen. I need a few, and Aberdeen bands keep pulling out. Dave
8. I wish my mac had a firewire. Wonder if my band needs a second one.. hmm
9. Hmm i'd probs say:- 1) Tim Commerford (Rage Against the Machine) - Heard RATM when i was pretty young and instantly fell in love with the sound - Know your enemy amazed me (One reason I got my tattoo) 2) Geddy Lee (Rush) - In all honesty, i read that Tim C liked Rush and Geddy Lee - So i investigated. Moving Pictures is still one of my favourite albums ever. 3) Billy Sheehan (Mr Big) - Saw some solo bass vids when i was younger. and adored them. 4) Chris Wolstenholme (Muse) - Loved his use of fx and fuzz. 5) Joe Principe (Rise Against) - Just love his tone and what he does in songs. Great fun lines. I seem to like the letter "R" with band names.
10. Oh god. WANT! i would do anything for that. Anyone want a kidney? Have a bump on me
11. actually been having some GAS for a 5 string... so might be interested in trades for that also. Really like pretty think necks (my lakland for example is slim as hell!) - hit me up Dave
12. bump -heads gone. cab is still up! its a Vietnam one.
13. Hey guys, Silly question here - My band are looking to do some lower stuff but i can't justify getting a 5 string again, so i'm tempted to use my Stingray 3EQ 4 sting tuned to BEAD (with 5 string set on) and use this for the low songs. But I've not tried the 'ray with my Deep Impact and Wooly Mammoth or Mastatron. They work amazingly with my passive lakland, but i'm worried about trying them with the 'ray. Anyone use two different basses (active + passive) for live work with these type of compressing pedals? If i recall - the 'ray didn't really play ball with the other pedals, but this was when i was still trying to get sounds (and using a midi pickup also..) And finally is there a way i can try and get the same sort of dirty tone/synth tones as with the lakland? So i dont need to actually change settings on the amp/pedals I do have SFX clean boost/buffer that i think might work. Cheers for any help. Dave
14. I was casually browsing the forum and decided to look here...Big mistake. All amazing - need to get mine on at some point! I'm totally tempted to hunt down a DJ5. If it's Natural + Maple neck + black blocks and Pickguard i will die. *drools*
15. my board is looking far to bare now... I want new toys already..
16. Since i haven't thrown myself into the ring yet for this... My band is called Foxdie - named after the virus from Metal Gear Solid (we do get geekier...seriously). We have been classed as, I quote, Electro Nerd Metal. Which sort of stuck hah! We are a 3 Piece from Aberdeen, Scotland and like being super synthy on recordings then adding some total insanity live (with live bass, guitar and drums...and keytar.) Influence wise is weird as hell... Rage against the machine (Synths?!?!), Muse, Pendulum, And anything dancey or dubsteppy. Recently got compared to Rage against the machine and pendulum. Which i was totally happy with since thats the sound that I personally was aiming for! Result! Live is a very fun thing. 3 people - about 4 synths, 1 guitar, bass, drums, and keytar. Also with live vocoders. We have no current gigs lined up - though i suspect May/June - we are currently planning a video which we will film and edit ourselves. and also writing some new stuff (which is currently sounding LOW... 5 string anyone? ) Link is HERE - please take a listen, I don't imagine it will be to many peoples tastes to be honest, since it is so dance/trance. Why we keep getting put on the same lineup as metal bands, i'll never know. Davie
17. To be honest, i've came into money issues so i'm needing to sell instead of trade. I'll check the cab tonight. Dave
