Hey guys, Wonder if someone could assist me? As i mentioned the other day in my band thread, my 400+ died just before recording. I have no idea what the problem is. I set everything up as normal, switched the amp on - with stand by still on - so the tubes were warming up. When i was away to test everything was working, flicked the standby off and i got this buzzing sound, but VERY quietly i could hear the bass notes. We tried a different bass, different cable, differnet cable to the cab but it still kept doing the same? Anyone have any ideas what it could be? A few of my mates with 400+ (well 2 of them!) had their mesa's crap out when needed too, even more annoying is the fact that it worked amazingly at practice 2 days before hand, and every other practice before that! Cheers for any suggestions. Davie PS - I checked the fuse and it was fine, I haven't had a chance to even look at the valves neither..

Hey guys, Thought i'd spread the word about my new band, Fox Die. The name comes from Metal Gear. The myspace link is www.myspace.com/foxdieuk We recorded two songs a few weeks ago, and have worked to get the sound we wanted the last week or so. Now one song is up The song is called One Shot, One Kill - it's based loosely around Call of Duty/Battlefield/Other FPS games - delete as applicable. Feel free to add us up if you like the sound etc. I will be sticking another tune up in the next few weeks which is got silly amounts of Deep Impact abuse if anyone fancies that? One shot was recorded using my lakland DJ4, my pedalboard (which is on basschat) and it was meant to be my mesa 400+ - but it died at the start of recording So it was an Ashdown EVO with 4x10 and 1x15. Cheers Dave.

This is a terrible thread for me! I don't have space for all these toys!

I think i'll reply back and see what he says then. If he says the same story and doesnt sell then it might be legit. If he's gonna take the cash and run he'll sell.. We shall seeeee

I messaged the guy about it. This was the reply... "Hi there, What you see is the actual bass, my wallpaper is a lime green (don't ask, please) so i got rid of the background using some photoshop program If i didn't it'd be pretty hard to spot the guitar! The reason for the low price is simple: i'd rather this guitar goes to someone who will actually play it rather than a collector who will merely hang it up gathering dust! Shipping is by FedEx and is included in the price Regards, Jaco" Now a few things about this that is odd. 1) His name is Jaco... Yet his email was axlmusic? Seems a little odd. 2) That picture seems insanely stock. 3) I could be totally wrong but didnt the 70s have block inlays?
Lovely Lakland, Great Stingray......... but what on earth prompted you to part with money for a Johnson....worst basses I've ever played.......EVER Si
Haha well i was watching the Blink Video for rock show on hogmanny, and thought "Hmm i'd like a pink bass..." Seems when i went to a party i got talking about it, then persuaded into buying it off my phone.. Didnt realise till about 3 days later when i checked my emails. Thats the one im willing to try and make my project bass (since ive never done any mods before, and im not caring about messing up a 70 quid thing!)

Thanks all the pink bass (which was bought on new year...bloody ebay apps for iPhone!) is going to be totally different when i get the cash to play with it. The weird 5 string fretless thing, is a ministar travelbass i think. I got it free from a mate i worked with. It actually sounds quite alright, just a pain in play.

Thought i'd finally get around to taking a picture of my basses. One of the below is my project fixer uper.

Hey folks, I recently just bought a Mesa 400+ which i love lots. Only problem is, i'm worried about it dying on me because of power surges (or bad supplies). My guitarist has a power conditioner in his rack but it takes a bit of space. I have a 4u rack with the mesa in it. So not much space at the back at all (few inches max). Anyone got any idea on any power conditioner that is REALLY small but still rackable? To power the amp and my effects pedals. Cheers Davie

I'd be interested in hearing some clips of these pedals. I have an OC 2 which i love to pieces, but sometimes it doesnt track brilliantly. Sometimes the ex7 does a better job...
Heyyy, I tend to use the Fuzz Factory and Phase 90 together, gives a very very Evil sound, Holy stain is actually pretty fun, I use it for either Room reverb clean or with Fuzz which is also packed in the pedal with a dark tone. I Play alot of Doom/Drone stuff as well as my main band Playing desert rock type of stuff, I can just get some nice fuzzy goodness!
Regarding the FF - Can it do that insane sorta feedbacky sound? I spoke to Max at sfx and we discussed building one that would work at bass freqs. If i can make space on the board once its tidied then i might give it a go and see.

Wasn't there a black Lakland DJ5 with PJ config on here a little while ago? I remember frothing at the mouth at it. EDIT: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...&hl=Lakland Here. Whoever bought that is one lucky bugger. That bass is sex with strings!
