1.
I'd usually mail out 4 songnames with keys and a rough note about any deviations from 'as known', links to youtube and tell 'em choose which two they'd like to play. Anyone keen will usually learn all 4. Hopefully, so will the current band members. Get 'em in, give it an hour or so going round the songs, jam something if everyone gets bored. Next please. How hard does it have to be?
That's what an audition should be. Skank you moved to Dorset now, if so whereabouts?
2. Glad you got it sorted, but have to say that I have had a couple of transactions with Minotaur and had superb service and would happily deal with them again. As Peteb said in his post it would be sad to see them go out of business because a courier screwed up.
3. I've got a TC BC210 sat in my garage doing diddly squat, you are welcome to borrow it to try with BC212 if you get one. Just drop me a pm if interested.
4. Before you open it are you sure the speaker lead and cab are alright?
5. Good luck today, hope all works out well. Have you told your band you are doing this audition? it may just be the kick up the arse they need.
6.
I'm with ChrisB and the Count. Small steps, easy victories. Simplify wherever possible. As for sequencing the set, somebody once said: "Start with a good one, end with a good one; the audience will never remember what came in between".
+ 1 Wise words indeed.
7.
Thanks for your comments guys - looks like I may be keeping this after all, as I think the other instrument I was after has gone. Wont remove the listing just yet though, as I'm not sure...
Please please remove this listing, I'm weakening every day.
8.
Only caveat to this is I find if the last practice before a gig goes too well then the gig isn't so good for some reason. Conversely, if I have a fractious, difficult practice before a gig, the gig goes well! I know what you mean though, last week I idly started playing "Unsquare Dance" (7/4 time), keyboard player picked up on it and after a couple of abortive attempts the drummer got into the 7/4 thing and it was great, really enjoyed it. Want to do it again tonight
+ 1 Really good rehearsal = iffy gig Iffy rehearsal = Good gig
9. Bought a mixer from Gareth, great comms and packaging, lovely piece of kit at a very good price. A pleasure to do business with.
10.
1952 = no chance.
Know the feeling, 1950 = even less chance.
11. I'm the boozer and I'm pissed off with people hitting me,
12. How about "Come Home" by Back Door Slam. Not very well known but well worth checking out.

Yet another happy customer, thanks Dave
14. Anyone use one of these? My son acquired one second hand and hopes to use it with his acoustic guitar, unfortunately on plugging in using 1/4" mono jack instrument leads there is a horrible crackling noise. Sounds like dirty contacts, so dad being an aviation electronics engineer in a former life (gave up that malarky over ten years ago) stripped it down and cleaned all the tracks and contacts on the sliders and footswitch, checked for dry joints and cracks in circuit board etc. Then noticed that the input/output jack sockets have three contacts, so possibly stereo. Tried it with stereo leads and there is EQ but still some noise and with mono leads nowt but noise. I have emailed Jim Dunlop customer service but all I got from them was, as we used to say in the navy a "DGI" (damn good ignoring). So if anyone has not lost the will to live and read this to the end and can tell me what leads they use sucessfully I'd be very grateful.
15. Just bought a gigbag from Andy, good man to deal with. Thanks Andy

17. Bought my sons PA from them and our guitarist bought his Fender amp from them, both had excellent service from them.
18. Open air gig on the upper deck of a three masted tall ship sailing vessel. Great atmosphere, people dancing on the jetty and on all the charter boats returning to harbour, even got a text from a friend fishing on the other side of the harbour saying that "Can't explain" sounds great. Nights like that make it all worthwhile.
