1.
What IS the string spacing at the bridge?
I may be wrong, but I believe Sadowsky 5s maintain the classic 19mm, while 4s are now at 20mm
2.
Oh right, goodbye and good luck then
+1
3. The bass is now irrevocably WITHDRAWN. Thanks for your interest.
4. NEW LOWER PRICE 1349 ONO + shipping. SERIOUS OFFERS CONSIDERED.
5. UP! To celebrate the new price, roughly 250 quid OFF the average price for the very same bass (which, of course, I am NOT using in the meantime, in order to preserve the spotless condition)
6.
MB1. ...The Torture Never Stops!
LOL!! And to make it even worse, NEW PRICE IS £ 1399 + shipping!!! I must be bonkers..... Earliest possible shipping is now Monday 22nd.
7. UP! The torture continues....
8. Thanks guys, I can almost imagine the drooling... LOL
9. Well, as I have explained in another post, I ordered it, and even before it arrived I was in need of some other equipment (non-musical) for my work, so I am trying to recoup some expenses. Grab a bargain while I am still gutted... So: BRAND NEW, UNMOLESTED MusicMan CLASSIC STINGRAY 4 in Powder Blue (depending on the light it fades into Mint Green, really nice). The flaming and birdseye on the neck and fingerboard are just unbelievable, it is actually much more prominent and noticeable live that in the pictures as the flash makes the whole image more anemic. The whole neck is a slightly darker vintage tint, like you see in some of the pics but not in others because of the flash, and really spectacular. In case you did not know, the CLASSIC is the version re-proposing lots of the Pre-Ernie Ball Stingray features: ash slab body, vintage colours, through-body strings, bridge mutes, 7.5 inch neck profile, 2-eq only... and so on. Of course with the original (also brand new) MusicMan hardshell case with its key, all the case candy and the hangtag registration card/warranty. The bass is 2 days old, still has the protective film on the pickguard and it's got half an hour play on it. To those with a certain predisposition, I suggest you look away now in case you are against bass porn... Are you all still conscious?? Or you're knocked out?? LOL Ongoing price range is £ 1629 - 1699. MY(NEW) PRICE: £1349 ONO + shipping. Serious cash offers considered. Paypal e-cheque payments preferred over Paypal card payments. I will only ship to the UK and I am available to ship only until Friday 12th included, then again from Monday 22nd as next week I am away from home. If by Sunday 21st I have received no payment, it will go straight on evilBay. Sorry but I will not consider any trade, that would defy the purpose. Treat yourself for Christmas, life is short. Thanks Claudio
10. Here it is Will be up for sale in the afternoon.... Gutted.....
11. Bass is now SOLD, somebody is going to be very happy soon...
12.
Can I ask why you bought it, to sell it on the same day you received it? thanks.
Sure, no problem. I spend quite some time in a different location than my home, where I have an old Sterling, and I thought that to have a Jazz as a backup would be really nice. With the proceeds from some stuff I sold I ordered two basses: this one and a Stingray Classic. As soon as I did, the need for a new very powerful PC and a couple of large screens arose for professional reasons, so I have to recoup some of the expenses and therefore even the new 'Ray may have to go Absolutely nothing wrong with the bass, just the irony of fate... Claudio
13. Thanks mate. It's really lovely and I hope it goes to a fellow BCer Cheers
14. You all know the specs so I won't bore you to tears with that.... B-R-A-N-D N-E-W UNMOLESTED (LOL!) Fender Jazz Marcus Miller in Olympic White. Still with the protective film on the pickguard. Includes a brand new TLK Fender molded hardcase which fits like a glove, and all case candy: strap, cloth, cable, saddles tool, case key, and the all-important registration card/warranty. Strangely the trussrod tool included is the wrong size, a trip down to Poundland for a set of Allen keys should sort you out.... I have just received it and played in my smoke-free, pet-free, child-free (but not booze-free...) home. But suddenly I had to make a choice between head and heart so grab a bargain. The cheapest price around is £869 plus shipping, and without the Fender original hardshell case. Always if you can find one available straight away in Oly White at that price.... MY PRICE for a fast transaction: £799 INCLUDED shipping to mainland UK AND the Fender OHSC. Paypal e-cheque (equivalent to a wire transfer from your bank account) preferred to Paypal card payment. I will only ship to the UK and I am available to ship only until Friday 12th included, then again from Monday 22nd. If by Sunday 21st I have received no payment, it will be on evilBay immediately. Sorry but I will not consider any trade. Treat yourself for Christmas, life is short. Thanks Claudio
15.
You and me both Martin
And me too...
16.
Expect offers significantly less than the asking. Good luck.
+1 on that At first I thought I misread the asking price, I needed a double take... If you want to have a very good idea of the market value of that instrument, do a search here on basschat and on ebay UK. For a broader perspective also check talkbass.com and ebay USA, take the price in Dollars and take 10% off for the market value in Pounds (a quick and dirty method that is not actually much off the mark...) I have no vested interest in this instrument, I am not interested at all, but having had a couple of Stingrays (and still having one) it is just a suggestion in order to avoid delusion. Good luck
17. Wow! That Buttermilk makes me dream... If that was a 2-eq I'd be all over it like a dog in heat... And having owned a Sadowsky Metro whose neck and firgerboard were glossed by Dave Wilson, I can vouch for the oustanding quality of his job. Good luck with the sale mate
18. Now SOLD
19. Still available, £400 shipped (trackable and insured within mainland UK) in a brand new tweed case (value £50). Paypal accepted. No trades please.
20. Is the refinish that made the fretboard matt/opaque (similar to current ones)? The headstock and back of the neck seem glossy as they should... or is it my impression? Cracking one anyway
21.
Sadowsky humcancelling Jazz single coils pickups.
Something is not quite right here..... Cracking basses however, I had an identical one from 1995 (just a different colour). Best of luck with the sale mate
22. I have had one absolutely identical from new for over 25 years, MIJ in 1981. They are built like a tank and the PJ configuration + active 2-eq make them rather punchy. 24 frets too. Good luck with this one mate
23.
The string tree is in the wrong place for an '83 surely?
Correct. Moreover, look at where the trussrod adjustment is.
24. I will not be available to reply to messages until Thursday night. PRICE FOR NON-PAYPAL PAYMENT NOW £400 shipped in the UK in a brand new tweed case.
