  1. Just have fun. If you have fun and show it, then everyone else will and it will all fall into place. And I dont know if this is the case for you, but 99% of musical audiences are totally tone deaf anyway
  2. I think I played one of them Ibanez's a while back and it's probably the only Ibanez I have ever got on with at all. I did play some kind of Cort a while back which I believe had some kind of Autowah built into it. Is that a diff one?
  3. How does it sound? My recent experiences of what Warwick are churning out is that they sound very muddy and extremely lifeless. Also how wide is the neck on them? I am led to believe they are sposed to be real logs.....
  4. Thats awful. I hope you recover it safely
  5. I dunno if anyone is good at tabbing or knows of an accurate one - but I am looking for a tab for "Trouble in the Message Centre" by Blur. If anyone can be bothered to tab out the opening bass hook that would be cool, I just cant seem to pick bits of it out. I am aware there are bass tabs up, but they dont seem very accurate to me. Also, if I am not sposed to post this in here - apologies!
  6. I think they Aphex pedals are great. I offloaded mine as I had some problems with reliability with them (I went through 3 new ones in a few months) but they do sound good.
  7. Cant say I have ever heard of them, but that don't mean they don't exist....
  8. You will find in the majority of cases that gain will aid you in cutting through the mix. It adds a bit of sharpness to your tone. I would suggest this: Set the eq flat, if you have any kind of visual indicator on your amp that it is clipping, continually add a lil gain and keep playing until you find you are starting to clip, add a bit of compression (if your amp has it - I assume it does), then add some mids and maybe dial in a bit of low end to bulk your sound up a bit. You are better doing this from your amp mainly, and have your bass eq set flat as well while doing this, then obviously when you are playing, use the EQ on your bass to tweak ever so slightly if needs be. Some may disagree with this way of doing things, but that is how I would go about it
  9. I used one with an SVT2. Now I know you are probably thinking I shouldn't need one, but the SVT2 sounded crap on stage and I genuinely needed it, but it sounded good anyway. I just have this feeling the SVT2 only really sounds good when a pick is used and it is played hard. Something I will never be doing.......

Very useful stuff! Thanks for that
  11. Yeah I would have thought it would be cool. The only problem I see with it is that you might lose a bit of your amps sound DI'ing? I would either mic up (in your case that may prove to be mega awkward) or like I did last time I recorded, go clean into the desk and then use Ampeg SVX, which if used properly, produces some brilliant sounds
  12. Surely your head has some kind of DI out? I don't know whether it would be pre or post EQ, but I would be surprised if it didn't.....
  13. Wow I had a good idea as early as quarter to 10! The reviews are a very good idea. I personally have bought and not bought gear purely on the strength of harmony central reviews and as a lot of people on here would have lil bits of boutique gear or luthier made stuff that you are much less likely to see on Harmony Central, it seems to make a lot of sense to have something more bass specific! I would like acknowledgement of my great idea in the form of a box of pro plus
  14. We are signing off with a final gig on 29th June, which also happens to be my 24th birthday! It will be taking place where it all began for us, Mood Basement in Buxton. Anyone who likes a bit of a technical metal widdle fest, please please please come and have a listen. There will be an immense p**s up before, during and most certainly after the gig (we will obviously be going easy till we have played) and anyone who travels from outside the area will be offered somewhere to stay if they need it! Loads of other good bands on so please come!
  15. Dammit I am really jealous of anyone who owns a SSI. I have always wanted one
  16. How does it sound??
  17. Would it be worth maybe having someone who moderates reviews? Choses a review of the week/month, maybe contributes one of their own once in a while? You could have people who wish to review something send the review to any given person (if you choose to have someone moderating) and then they can decide if the review is sensible, accurate and worth putting up on the site. That way there is a bit more control rather than the board being flooded with useless reviews? Eg, there aint much point in 100 stingray reviews, because most of us know what to expect anyway! Just an idea......
  18. psn - moody, vitriolic, grumpy metal 'ed with a sense of humour that nobody finds funny. If left in one place for too long, begins to smell slightly musty. Cannot find a rig he is happy with for love nor friggin money, but is doing OK with his new Ray........... Has also recently discovered a deep hatred for stainless steel strings, Beef and Tomato Pot Noodle, instant coffee, indie music, Lee Evans, stupid people and Korma.
