  1. Glenn Kornick - so uncool he's cool.
  2. Paul Simonon's unusual playing style and curly lead was considered cool enough for this cover shot.
  3. You can impress the crowd in Lichtenstein by playing their national anthem....you already know the tune.
  4. I do specializing in relcaimed timber. www.scavengermusic.co.uk
  5. The electrician has done the first fix and I've been busy with the lining. The Tate have already shown an interest in my latest installation.
  6. Yes ...42 Metres . Another 9 barrow loads of earth removed from "The Slot" as I've come to call it. I have to stand with one leg in the hole to dig, for some reason it makes my buttocks ache like crazy. I'll should finish the digging this afternoon or tomorrow.
  7. What is the most satisfying thing about making instruments? - Digging, it's all about the digging. Electrician number two has put in a quote and can start next month. Before then I have to dig a trench for the cable not less than 60cm deep. As we are also putting power into the summer house I have another 30' stretch to do as well. I'm on s budget so it's just me with s pick and shovel. I'm done for the day , lying down in a dark studio for a while.
  8. Partly inspired by some houses I saw build a few years ago. They were built on precast concrete "rafts". My walls sit on the edge of a wooden raft with the floor inside so any water running down the walls is already bellow the floor by the time it reaches the bottom of the wall. this is the insulation: https://www.screwfix.com/p/ybs-airtec-double-reflective-foil-insulation-25-x-1-5m/50913?tc=HA3&ds_kid=92700058021678550&ds_rl=1249407&ds_rl=1241687&ds_rl=1245250&ds_rl=1245250&gclid=CjwKCAjw7diEBhB-EiwAskVi17gya7l5DsRsy2QE1yOavmmU3EUoJ4zih9YBIaMmYgmxSmbyoM4TyRoC6ocQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
  9. BBC slashes budget for Dr Who sets And I'm still waiting for the electrician..
  10. Almost a floor and I closed the base in. The electrician has gone AWAL and I can't start the ceiling or lining until he's done the first fix.. I may have to go back to my mother's shed for a while.
  11. We are watching that series at the moment. As I wasn't sacking anyone I thought I'd splash out. The work bench is for child labourers, (once they are too big to go up a chimney )
  12. We have a roof!!! I laid on quite a spread for the topping off party,. Sparkling wine and two types of crisps.
  13. Probably not..but it's what the plans appeared to show, I'm not too bothered as it's nice to play, the only downside is that it's on the limits of adjustment. Not bad for a first attempt but I will adjust my routing jig if I ever make such a thing again. It also looks tall due to the type of pickup mount, I may swap them for something like this:
  14. Ok, no more distractions, I'm full time on the workshop now!
  15. Trusses but no truss rod.
  16. More windows , doors and walls up to full height. Got an electrician coming next week.
  17. Today I did the bit I'd been dreading, the door frame and fitting a massive double glazing unit. I have a pair of glazed doors and another window for the end wall.
  18. The floor will go in last so I may lose some junk under it. The area I'm using had a plastic shed with a floor that sat directly on the ground and rats burrowed under it.
  19. Sorry I've been side tracked with this: 'Full build diary on Guitarchat and facebook I have to leave the lacquer to harden for two weeks so I'll be back on the workshop full time from Wednesday.
  20. 10' X 15' not sure how I'll arrange things yet, I'm not used to such space. For the last year I've been crammed into half of my mother's garden shed.
  21. I'm making great progress, I'll be finished in two shakes of a lambs tail. We were hand rearing these two and they were eager to help out. They are back at the farm now. Back to the build..I've been given a load of shed parts that were made to be used as storage units in a warehouse. They were supposed to have flat roofs ....the manufacturers built them with flat roofs but only 5,6" high. My boss bought them at a discount and ordered replacements. After three years getting in the way he gave them to me! For the base I've made a timber "raft" that sits on 12 individual concrete pads. This will be enclosed by a skirt of decking planks. Hopefully it will stay up until I get a chance to carry on later in the week.
  22. It looks similar to instruments I've seen branded "EL MAYA" an 80's Japanese make.
  23. Just spotted that it was on ebay but failed to sell for a mere £777.
  24. Spotted on Market Place , I suspect it's a home made body with an old neck. Can't find anything about "Slipstream" guitars or basses. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/432897194581162/?ref=search&referral_code=undefined
