1.
so your telling me the GP7 150 combo with the stock speaker at 8 ohm is only 90 watts???
does the mean the BLX 80 with the stock speaker is only 40 watts?

does this mean all the trace combos with a number in the model's name is misleading and only put out half the stated number?
the 1x15 combos which are all into 8 ohms, so are they are too only half the stated power output???
They wouldn't install a 4ohm speaker with an extra speaker output as the amps can't handle a lower resistance than 4ohm.
Mine says on the back minimum load 4ohms

You sure I've misunderstood the specs?

I dont fink so!!
regretfully i have to disagree as well

A lot of combos need an extension cabinet to develop their full stated output
This is the spec for the current 2 100 TE Cobo where it says it will deliver 600 watt into 2 10 in speakers with an extensiob cab

Additional speaker output (8 Ohms minimum load).
- 600 Watts (4 Ohms) output stage (with additional speaker cabinet).
- Two 10” (254mm) special design Celestion speakers.
- High frequency horn with variable attenuation.

This is a common cause of gripes on this forum

2. Well after holding this as requested for a couple of weeks for the buyer to sell some stuff, agreeing a day for the buyer to travel about 5 miles to come over, I spend all wednesday evening waiting for a no show. I got no e mail, no phone call, no apology just an e mail a day later saying he was busy.

I know people change their minds or circumstances change, but theres no excuse for not communicating, its just bad manners

Anyway, this is up for sale again, John [old slapper] had first dibs and David Nimrod the second, I have pmd you both

3.
So it goes up stairs like a dalek too :)

Actually, given how light the Super Flightcase was - and given it has 6 of those Piranha speakers - PJB must have made the 24B cabinet out of lead to get it to 78kg. Could that weight be a mistake?
Dont forget a lot of the newer pjb stuff is made with neos and this isnt.

My 8b is 50 odd lbs so 3 of those comes close in weight

4. It wouldnt make any difference which courier you use, its just the way the system works

The courier offfers a next day service on the assumption there is someone to recieve it. Next time find a friendly neighbour or have it delivered at work

5.
didnt JPJ use to use these bad boys with Zep live?
He used an acoustic 361 which was a folded horn 18 in cab with the amp in the cab, and a seperate preamp on the top so you could rig a number of powered cabs to it.

they later changed the design to a conventional amp head [the 370] amd a 301 folded horn cab, see my other for sale

6. The Daddy
From the 70s, the 301 was the bass cab to have, used by everyone in the day. Mcartney, Jaco,Humble Pie, Santana, you name it.

Ive wanted one at the time but they were soo expensive. Bought it last year, sounds great, bit i dont really get the chance to use it.

This is a serious bit of kit, gives huge sound with its original 18" Cerwin Vega loudspeaker. Its got some battle scars as you can imagine, Its big, and fairly heavy, but ive taken it out in the back of an estate, and moved it solo

looking for £200

7. acoustic 150b bass amp. This an early model from the early 70s, still gets a great sound.
Overhauled a couple of years ago at Kingfisher including a new mains transformer.

Ive used this with the 404cab and it keeps up well with a deaf guitarist and drummer playing with tree trunks

looking for around £125 which is less than the overhaul bill.

Note this is the amp head only, the speaker is listed seperately

8. Acoustic 404 cabinet

This had a knackered speaker so I replaced it with a neo basslite 4 ohm speaker after talking to emminence for the best replacement.
The speaker is over £100 and its been used four times and gives a great sound
Its got a few battle scars as you can see, and comes with a David Royle fitted cover
Looking for £125 collected,
I have a 150b bass amp selling seperately also shown

9. Ashdown Mini 4x8, 600 watt

This is pretty much immaculate, the paint has rubbed off the metal handles and there is a dent on one of the metal corners.

Comes with a David Royle cover.

Looking for £175 collected or if pushed I will deliver at costg

10.
I have a Lakland Skyline DJ 4 string, It's a gorgeous bass but seems to lack punch and balls, especially next to my old trusty Precision Lyte. I've decided to try changing the Pickups. I do a mix of finger style and pick playing and slapping when I can get away with it. Looking at the Fender Custom shop ones and the Wizards seem well rated on here. Any help would be much appreciated because I haven't got a clue :)
iirc correctly. the dj is fitted with aero pickups http://www.aeroinstrument.com/pickups.html
e mail them and tell them what you dont like
wizard are good, talk to them, see what they suggest

11. Made my first bass copied from the one on the first shadows album.
Ive met him a few times as he has come and played at the local shadows club. A nice humerous genuine man. He had his share of demons over the years but he had got his act together for quite a few years.

Sadly missed and I probably would have never picked up a bass if it wasnt for him.

RIP
