  1. I've had a Chowny and a U5. The Chowny was great but I sold it and I've still got the U5. Build quality seemed better
  2. PM sent
  3. No, it's chrome and I checked the bridge wiring and contact looks good.
  4. I know this topic has gone into hibernation for a few years but it still intrigues me. I have a well grounded P bass that hums slightly if I don't touch a metal component/strings (suggests shielding required) but the hum also disappears if the volume is fully down (makes sense) AND also when fully up (???!). Any electromagnetic experts out there have an explanation for the max volume hum elimination behaviour?
  5. Longer term Baschat members may have seen this on the site back in 2018 at £1100. Today its on at an inflation busting £900 850 800!!! Potentially trade for a 5 string PJ bass? A beautifully made bass with rock solid build quality and high quality parts and plating. I'm only selling as it covers similar territory to a twin humbucker Shuker I had made and I allegedly own too many basses. The following details are copied verbatim from the 2018 ad when it was in the posession of a proper pro musician. I'm trusting that the precision of the weight given means he had access to much better scales than I have in my bathroom. Neck: Bolt-on Canadian hardrock maple Fretboard: 24 frets Scale: 864 mm/34" Body: mahogany and rarewood imbuia top Finish: matt Pickups: 2 Sandberg powerhumbucker - switched split coil on bridge pickup Preamp: Sandberg 3-band, active/passive Neck width at nut: 1 ¾”/45mm String spacing at nut: 8mm String width at bridge: 2 ⅞”/73mm String spacing at bridge: 18mm Weight: 4.11kg/9.06lb Comes with a Sandberg gig bag It has a small number of very minor blemishes as shown in the photos for full dislosure; they aren't very noticeable against the grain of the bass. I'll ship boxed and in the gig bag within the UK at buyer's expense and risk, or could meet up within a reasonable distance of Tunbridge Wells or in London. Of all the basses I've sold this is the one I'm most reluctant to let go of so there's a slight chance I might withdraw it if my herd thinning resolve weakens....
  6. I'll take it please if the Sunday night deal falls through
  7. Where does a strap attach? Could be my eyesight but I can't see any strap buttons in the photos. GLWTS
  8. At the risk of this turning into a debate about Steinberger type bass ergonomics and not a For Sale thread, I've got the similar B2AV model with no mods of any sort and have the following observations. I find no problems with balance even with a nylon strap. With regards reaching the fingerboard down to the nut I don't find it a problem and I've had an operation on my left shoulder that limits my left arm movement. Perhaps the trick is to allow the strap at the neck end strap button to drape down vertically from your left shoulder and then it sits very naturally much like a 'normal' bass. Hope this reassures any potential buyers that mods aren't required if you don't want to do them. GLWTS!
  9. New Year, I've been told I need to restart the clear out ...
  10. The Harley Benton's did have a phase where there was visible routing but I bought one a while afterwards where they had reverted to a concealed channel for the pickup wiring
  11. Inflation adjusted price drop?
  12. Is there anyone who uses Talkbass that could post a warning that a blue 6 string Moon bass has been stolen? Maybe a link to the ad here to see the photos for ID?. Might mop up other eyes and ears beyond Basschat to help catch the crooks if/when they try and sell it. I've not familiar with the site or I'd do it.
  13. @ymdtzx If someone spots this for sale would it be best if they sent you a PM? Have you made the police aware of the theft and if so would they help you recover it? Its quite a distinctive instrument, there aren't many Moon basses around, and there isn't a massive market for 6 string basses (well beyond my limited needs and capabilities). As mentioned above there is a chance someone on this forum might see it up for sale and I'd like to think the law might catch up with the crooks some time.
  14. Lovely instrument. If I had the money I'd be investigating a trip to the Netherlands. Before someone else asks how much does it weigh?
  15. I've got a U5 in this finish that I gig a lot. I can confirm no neck dive. Very distinctive colour with subtle classy binding, it looks great under lights too. GLTWS!
  16. I agree. So much so I'm not sure I want to sell it any more!
  17. Cheapest China made CV Squier on this forum. I think one more week on and then I'll withdraw it and thin another candidate from the herd.
  18. Ta Taa! It's currently on hold pending a meet up with a potential lucky new owner next week...
  19. V nice! Does it have 2 battery compartments?
  20. What is the weight of this bass please?
  21. My bathroom scales (diff with/without bass in hand) say its about 10.5 lbs so no featherweight, but I'm quite slim build and I've never found it a problem for 2 hour gigs. String spacing is 19 mm.
  22. No, I bought it from a BCer called to "Out To Play Jazz" who I haven't noticed on here for quite a while
