£1070 for a MIM? Blue
I think it's Mex, but haven't actually chased that up. Don't forget when us Brits get new gear here from the states/Mexico, there is 20% VAT, plus big shipping costs plus Import duty.

Oh sh*t Muzz. I sold my back up rig (Streamliner 600, 2 x Focus 112LT's) a week or so back. When I plugged it in for the buyer to try I'd forgotten how good the Streamliner sounded. Now you do this to me (even though heart set on selling MB TTE, getting PUMA 900) Top bloke, top bit of kit. Good luck fella, doubt you'll need it
The Duff McKagan is a good example of how a sig instrument should be. The bass it`s modeled on is no longer in production, and many people like Duffs sound, so to me this one makes sense.
I think the current Duff is Mexican and around £1070 new The active "Power" model comes up quite frequently on here Lozz. The passive, original (about 84-91) rarely comes up. They are quite nice, i'll take a photo one day I'll have to dig the bloody bass out 1st!

Whilst I do have a vested interest in Jonny's sale, we have dealt a couple of times previously, and he is a lovely, top class bloke. However, unlike me, he is not a magpie gear whore who changes gear more than under crackers. These do not come up very often, so, to help him out a little, (copied) TC Electronic Staccato '51 Bass Head In response to Rocco Prestia's (Tower of Power's bassist) stringent needs, TC Electronic present the Stacatto '51.
I'm gigging mine tonight in Edinburgh if anyone wants to hear one in the wild Some good info in those links Karl. I read all that stuff too.....after I got mine
Thanks for that. Hope you had a good 'un last night Gavin
It's weird that something that is not 'small form factor' weighs so little!
Yes it is weird. but that never really harmed popularity of the Orange Bass Terror, which is just a bit smaller and a bit lighter (possibly because it's got less pre valves and slightly less features than the TTE). -
As I understand it, Lakland's Bob Glaub signature was based on the dimensions and profiles of his legendary 64 P. Now, can I afford a 64 P

Simply dead easy great transaction. Absolute pleasure to deal with, fully recommended. Many thanks Mart and enjoy the bass, cheers, Karl.

Thanks Gavin, it is a decent price against the £880 it would have cost new (with gigbag). For those not familiar, couple of links, one having a lot of knowledgable folks, including 2 of the big names from here. A phrase something like "Markbass's hidden gem" is used. Quite a few folk liking them more than their LM11/111, and some very favourable comparisons to "proper" Ampegs. It looks quite big yet only weighs 6kgs. Thanks Paul Tom, what you doing up at this time of the night? Guessing arty farty is progress over the usual comments my photos get (ie, they are sh*te pal). Oh, and at 9lbs it's too heavy for you Tom It is in very good condition, with a few tiny headstock and body dints. Anything that looks any size is just photo/lighting/reflection.
Check your EQ settings - there is a lot of boost on tap, along with the speaker killing 'features' that ashdown build into their amps (deep switch, sub-harmonic generator) which can sound good at home practice levels, but add so much bass to the signal that once you crank the volume up to the sort of levels you need for gigs and rehearsals, the speakers will be farting out and getting damaged. For band use I find that turning off the deep switch and sub-harmonic, and applying some cut to the bass EQ, and bumping the mid and low mid slightly gives good results on my MAG 300-115 combo. High levels of volume at the fundamental frequency of the lowest notes are unnecessary, most of what we hear is 1st harmonic and above on these notes anyway.
THIS^^^^^^^^^ Somebody with the skills to replace speakers is unlikely to have used the wrong uns. Get all that deep bass/sub harmonic off when gigging. Those 4 x 8's in particular are a great cab (imo). You will get a different sound in your bedroom, in a shop, on stage and 10 yards away from the stage.

Not going to bust a gut, as pointed out it's a great amp. Just like the car cassette size, I never learn. Daft thing is, I rarely used my back up rig, sold it last weekend and now I'm missing it. -
