1.
A typical pub classic rock band, though they're about 30 years younger than most that you see around here . Why has the bassist removed his shirt ?
You're going to the wrong pubs fella
 2. Ok, I know I'm old, but the the top bit (technical expression) says fs/ft. I can't find any mention of trade/part trade bait you might be interested in? So apologies if I've missed that bit, but ????????
 3. Stop baiting Kev you lot. He's a lovely bloke. With very scary eyes. And too many FRIENDS Sorry Kev, good luck with the drummer, that's the 2 important bits sorted.
 4.
The One10's are 8ohm aren't they? I understand what you're saying though - I wrote off the Two10's because of the 4/12ohm thing, I'm sure the logic makes sense but when you want two 8ohm cabs that's what you've got to have.

The One 10s are 8 Ohm cabs; it is the Two 10 that comes in the 4 or 12 Ohm options.

don't be too put off by the 12 ohm thing on the 210... there will be a difference in output but it's likely a lot less pronounced than you think (especially when you have a reasonably powerful amp)
Correct. I'm old, I'm allowed brain fart mode. Moving swiftly on
 5.
Would love to see the rest of the set list
FOR GOD'S SAKE DON'T MENTION Friends
 6. I think I would have bought 2 of the BF 1 X 10'S quite a while back, but it's the 4 0hm, 12 ohm choice that stopped me. Alex explained why, but it was way over my old dinosaur ain't gonna change head Must admit, this thread has got me thinking again. Can two biscuit tin sized 10's really handle Metallica/Maiden covers against 2 Blackstar'd gaytartists and a shed building drummer (who is usually part mic'd). Anybody within about 50 miles of Manchester use two, so I can go see them gig?
 7.
In answer to the OP, I'd say not. Andy Baxter deals pretty much exclusively in vintage instruments and you only have to look at what has sold and the new arrivals on his website to see the market is buoyant. He's at the retail price end of things and charges top dollar. You can see the added value from the point of view of the buyer though - there are a lot of instruments in one location, you know they are going to be original and genuine, described accurately and truthfully and will be properly set-up and ready to go. Talking of readies, if I had any I'd set up camp in his showroom and never come out... http://andybaxterbas....php?pc=1&cat=1
Thing is discreet, London, well, there's all those famous and up and coming muso's drifting round there. Professionals, possibly with record/production company money behind them. Plus of course Andy's global reputation. Probably his contact's in the states help as well. So, I'm not quite convinced Andy's is the examplar that shows the whole?
 8. Superb condition, recently serviced by Gee, going back to the smaller PUMA, IF I can sell this in time. 3.5 years old, these were sold at £799 (unlike the current Indonesian ones at around £600). The Markbass gig bag for this was £80, daft price!. This is a very powerful head, but remarkably light at 6kgs. http://www.bassdirec...TE_500_800.html Collection from Wigan/meet up preferred. Sorry, no trades unless you have an immaculate PUMA 900. Extra £20 for insured UK courier. Feedback at bottom of post, thanks for looking. 9.
If it were under different circumstances yes. The guitarist has essentially (although quietly) thrown his toys out of the pram as things arent going exactly as he wants them to and with little regard to others in the band. He was also the reason our original singer left in january. Things will be better without him and we can get back to enjoying the band again and it being fun. Which is the whole point. It's his choice and I am not wasting time sending 'so sorry to hear you're leaving' messages!
We are going to have to agree to disagree. Unless violence or illegality are involved, everybody deserves an acknowledgement of communications. To me it's only courtesy. In my case it was because the other three booked 2 x 40 minute gigs in Europe (4 days away in total) without me agreeing to it. Final straw.
 10.
One of our guitarists quit the band today. I have no intention of acknowledging it. It will get a mention on the Facebook page when his name gets removed and that will be about it.
So, you wouldn't have the courtesy of acknowledging an email of resignation? Perhaps that may be indicative of one of the reasons the guitarist left. Well, each to their own standards I guess. I wish they would take my name off the Facebook page. And stop putting photos of me on it. They were quick enough to cancel my admin duties on it.
 11. Well done that man. I quit one of the 2 bands I was in, four weeks ago. Two of the members have not even acknowledged it. No announcement on Facebook page. Important me, eh
 12. Thanks guys . Link to a review of the Precision version from this range, by one of our own. Hope you don't mind Adee. Can't find a whole lot on the jazz style, certainly not in English. Sandberg Electra VS4 ....... New bass day ! - Basschat Couple of pm's but I'm a bit surprised to be honest, thought this would have gone very quickly, a bass as good as this, at this price. Might have to keep it rather than lose anymore. Unless anybody has Attitude Special of course Cheers, Karl.
 13.
Maybe buy an acoustic bass for home noodling, or something..? I know how it is though, sometimes I feel like jacking it all in and becoming a goat farmer in Venezuela.
And we all know why He's right though Rhys.
 14. Very nice Sandberg budget bass, NOT the full fat German one (what, at this price ). Continuing clearing out stuff that isn't vital. Korean parts, assembled and QCd in Germany. Bass Direct have them new at around £550. Lightish at 8lb 8oz. PLEK'D..... not many in this price bracket have that. Zero fret (as above). Active/passive. Great bridge. Easy to set up to your requirements The finish on these will very definitely go road worn! This does have a couple of chipped bits. Nothing bad. There will be a couple of links below. Lots of reviews, in German and Japanese Stick with the You Tube one, it does stop being a slap fest! http://topguitar.eu/...uitar-magazine/ https://www.youtube....h?v=aI3OtkFuGd0 Photos will show as normal, plate removed for your Jaco and with block vinyl markers, aligned by my dreadful eyes and clumsy hands. £320 collected from Wigan, £345 insured UK courier. Feedback linked at end of thread, thanks for looking, cheers, Karl. 15. The clear out continues and this rig is no longer needed. I will post links to specs fo the head and the cabs below. The cabs links has video (#2) with Ed Friedland playing a Streamliner 900 through a pair of these cabs. He also plays a couple of double basses through them. Streamliner Series | GENZ BENZ Focus™ LT Series | GENZ BENZ £600 for the complete light weight rig, cash collected, from Wigan. I will relectantly consider courier, but that will be an extra £60 inc insurance. I WOULD FAR RATHER meet up within an 80 mile radius of Wigan, and won't charge anything else extra . They are in good but not immaculate condition. Odd nicks to the covering, some scratchs on the side of the head. All gear from late 2012. Any trial in Wigan of course. TRADES would strongly consider excellent conditioned............. Barefaced Gen 3 Superwotsits (2 x 12) aye, right Fender Road Worn Jazz US P or J US Sterling (not the 34/OLP/Sterling by..) just the proper US ONE. Yes, I realise they all bring in a bit more than £600, but £600 is the CASH price for a quick sale. Sorry about the photos but just for a change it's lashing it in Wigan. Thanks for looking, cheers, Karl. Edit, don't you just hate it when you get near the end of a posting, and lose internet connection! 16. Wow, lots of great comments guys and a lot of food for thought. Going back 5 or 6 years, there were some real eye openers, particularly on Feebay. An Ibanez certain copy going for just shy of £1500. A Hondo 11 certain copy going for over £700. Two JV Squiers (however you piggin spell it) going for over £1500. A real Lemmy going for $11,000 They obviously are not the "bread and butter" historical vintages but even so, looking at even the top end stuff, been a couple of late 50's good nick P's that seem to have gone for a lot less than a few years ago. Really, the question was just curiosity. On a personal level, once I was determined to get a vintage, especially after selling my wondrous 74 Jazz to Gunsfreddy. After a while though, I came to the conclusion that was touched on earlier. Too bloody valuable for The Bodgit and Scarper on a Saturday night. Thanks for all the thought provoking comments folks
 17. Market for older instruments? Not specifically on Basschat, but the general market for vintage gear. Does anybody think it's in decline? I don't mean the sort of 14 year old Precision on FEEBay at £900+, more the 60's/70's stuff. Just seems to me they are not going out at quite the prices of a couple of years back. Also seems to me they don't sell quite as quickly as a couple of years back. Just a personal observation and the question is simply out of curiosity really. Any thoughts anybody? Cheers, Karl.
 18.
Personally, I've never had a problem with Thomann, but from what you've said, aren't most of the problems you've had to do with negotiating a discount in order to keep it? Always problematic in my experience. Straight up return would have been far simpler and relatively hassle free. Plenty of other amps that can do the same job, whatever it is that you've bought.
Sorry to say it Paul, but I'm with Hiram on this. I bought two PJB C4 LITES from Thomann just before Christmas. They arrived swiftly and were immaculate, but I hated them instantly. Lovely tone but no power. I mailed Thomann, they told me to send them back. Yes, two cabs into a town centre PITA post office was not a joy, but I got a full refund and paid no postage. First time I've ever sent anything back and frankly I was a bit embarrassed to do so. Thomann were exemplary. Doesn't help you. Good luck.
 19. I'm going to apply Dunc, I've often been referred to as...................
 20. Jason has just come to buy a bass from me. Amazing pro musician, nice guy, young, good looking, I HATE HIM Absolute pleasure not only to deal with, but to listen to him play. Fully recommended by me, deal with utmost confidence. Thanks for making it so easy Jason and enjoy the bass. Cheers, Karl. Oh, NB. He only wolfed one of my cookies, he can definitely come again
