  1. Top bloke is our Darren, deal with confidence peeps ๐Ÿ˜. Nice price Darren, good luck with your sale.
  2. I think with energy & fuel prices that new basses will have another significant hike in the coming months. Having said that it's only a bass, I'm sure most of us already have one ๐Ÿ˜.
  3. I made an expensive recent purchase so I need to recoup some funds. Happy to talk half way meet. Lovely bass in superb condition, nicely set up, decent saving on new. Unlike some of these basses, the truss rod nut is absolutely fine, believe me, I tested it before I bought it. I normally use it without the scratchplate & tug bar, for that JPJ/Sting look, both are included in the sale. A lot of bass for the money imo. Sorry, I can't courier, no box or gig bag Link to embarrassingly long feedback https://www.basschat.co.uk/topic/288068-feedback-for-karlfer/page/7/ Thanks for looking, Karl.
  4. I have to. They are all good but tend to be a bit plinky jangly 60's pop-ish so I try to put a bit of drive & balls into some of the songs. Having said they are good, both guitarists have at least one Gibson Les Dawson moment per gig ๐Ÿ˜
  5. Thanks @CJPJ I have no idea, I can only listen to it on my laptop & I don't have any headphones. I'm only aware of a vague rumbling. I don't think there was a mix as such, just a punter recorded it on their phone & kindly sent us a link ๐Ÿ™‚
  6. Gutted ๐Ÿ˜ญ I expressed my adoration for the Purple P last week, bought a US Standard on Monday, this come up on Thursday. Good luck Ander it's fabulous.
  7. All PM's replied, please, no more offers of Fender Japan Precisions (unless 70's Re-Issue ๐Ÿ˜). Now on FeeBay as well.
  8. I know a service station ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜ I think that anybody who likes jazz basses should try one of these if they get the chance, particularly the earlier ones with Rosewood boards. I find it difficult to explain just how good & easy to play the necks are. Road Worn is a bit "love or hate" but I think there would be some interesting results in a blindfold test. I do prefer my (now fully passive, series/parallel, stack knob) Jazz Elite with asymmetrical neck & compound radius fingerboard. But not a lot in it.
  9. Yes you did Dunc, thanks. Glad to be of (emptying your pocket) service ๐Ÿ˜
  10. That is gorgeous and being a Lakkue it will be good with it. What scale length is it please?
  11. This was withdrawn in August last year as it's so good, but needs must Made in 2008 for release at winter NAMM 2009. These early models did not have the circular CNC route under the scratchplate, so can be used with the plate off. THEY DID, however, have ROAD W stamped into the body as these first ones were select Alder & the first non Fender Custom Shop Road Worn finish basses. Weight 8lb 14oz. They have a very good rep, please do your research. As they are now discontinued (last rrp was ยฃ1279) they will most likely come up less often. Sale as my Elite Jazz is frankly the best jazz I've ever had and I'm looking to try a different kind of bass so this is on the block. TRADE. The ONLY trade I'm looking for is a 2017/2020 Mexico Fender Deluxe Active Precision Bass Special (the one with active/passive switch). It must be in excellent condition please, Sunburst & Maple preferred but happy to talk about the other 2 colours. Bass recorded on mobile phone, I don't have headphones so no idea what it sounds like. Collection from Darlington preferred or I half way meet up to 100 miles radius of Darlington. No gigbag or packaging so I can't courier at the moment. Feedback available. Thanks for looking, Karl.
  12. Thanks Clarky, I tried that first, no reply but I noticed he was following the thread. Slim chance but a man's gotta ask ๐Ÿ˜
  13. 4003s is the easier one to play fingerstyle, no binding, no sharp edges to rip your wrist. Lacquered fretboard (now discontinued). V2 bridge, massive improvement imo. Vintage tone pot (I don't like!). Case & candy. Weight 9lb 20z nut 42.4mm One main chip, a few smaller ones, this bass gets gigged. Mods. Rickysound vintage TRC in black. Rickysound black plate Hosco Jazz style rotary knobs Retrovibe pickup surround with thumb hole (I was going to spray that black but.............) All original parts included, all mods easily undone. New Superbrights 35-95. Very nicely set up, it's actually a joy to do with the V2 bridge. I will do my best to remove my DNA that the photos show ๐Ÿ˜Š Collection from Darlington, half way meet or organise/pay for your own courier. Thanks for looking, Karl.
  14. I asked @Hamster about revisiting Rick sales late last year. I'm now a little confused. Can we sell genuine Rickenbacker's on here now, or not?
  15. All PM's replied thanks, currently still here ๐Ÿ™‚.
  16. If you look at any of these J-Craft basses from this year, they have Made in Japan on the headstock but no country of origin above the neck serial number. As I understand it, they are from the Crafted In Japan years. I think it may be they were non-export but I'm no expert on the vagaries of Fender Japan production/serialising. The nut is a fraction shy of 42mm, the 40 mm Japan P's you refer to are the 70's re-issues.
