1. Never ceases to amaze me the amount of Fender bashing by those who have obviously played every single one made
2. Justify my gear? What week is this? Ooops, just noticed only 2 of my 5 current basses are listed
3. Yes Alain, looks like it's just gone on in the last day or so. Psst, wanna buy a damp flannel John
4.
Hi Karl, That looks an interesting one! I have just dug out the Fender Frontline brochures from 2002 and 2003 and there is a '60s Jazz Bass shown but no specific mention of '62. However, it states it was only available in Sunburst, Olympic White and Black and all came with a tort pickguard. There is certainly no mention of Burgundy Mist, white pickguard and matching headstock! I wonder if it was a special run? It certainly looks a nice find!
Yes David. FSR, and what Daniel said (below).
Yes, they were a FSR but were available for quite some time. I very nearly bought a BM Jazzmaster at the time, great colour
Thanks Daniel
Just let me know what said that about you Karl and I'll have a little word in his shell-like (with my baseball bat). Shame about the dings on the neck though.
Alain, you should be congratulating him on his astuteness OK, many of us have had fleeting conversations with the guy in question, as he often pops up on sale threads here, with the comment "trades?". The "debate" that brought about my question was on a facebook sales thread. One bloke is currently selling one of these at £795. I think HE bought it recently, at £795, off the guy I was having the debate with. I think the CURRENT seller started to be a touch concerned about the advert he had bought it from. BOTH of these blokes appear to have the same surname, which complicates it. The guy who I was having the debate with, well, I'm fairly sure he bought it off here at around £500, then sold it on Facebook to the CURRENT seller at £795. Quite within his rights of course. HOWEVER, the guy NOW selling it was advertising it as a 62 RI. I commented that I was fairly sure it was in fact a Classic 60's series FSR Mex, and as far as I was aware, the 62 RI had strap button on back of headstock and earthing strip. Then the original seller jumped in, put me in my place with some lovely internet sarcasm. I deleted my comments as I didn't want to screw up the CURRENT sellers advert. So, if you followed that lot, your honorary PHD is in the mail
5. Thanks gents, really appreciated. I might not be quite as dimwitted and opinionated as somebody thinks
6. Hi folks, just to settle a discussion please. Following photos of matching head stock Burgundy Mist jazz I think it's one of the Mex Classic Series 60's reissues from around 2002. There have been a few sold on here generally at around £450/£550. T'other chap thinks it's a 62 RI (and that the Mex Classic 60's RI was based on the 62 RI. Don't worry, neither car or house deeds will change on the outcome Ta, Karl. 7. Had the absolute pleasure of meeting Phil today, to seal a deal. Wonderful dead pan humour, we could have talked all night I think Absolute gent to deal with folks, fully recommended
8. I saw one exactly like this in Denmark St couple of years ago. It was £2700. I could never afford that, hence I used that one as the template for the Limelight replica I had built. And that bass was good. But these? These really are just that very bit special
9. All hail the Queen. Beware the Princess Rickenbugger(tm)
10. Perfection Can't raise £1800 quickly enough. Somebody is going to get lucky
11. Sorry Len I don't, 5 is 4 strings too many for me. Have seen the odd comment on that page from a couple of guys that have them and they seem pretty pleased.

obbm's feedback

As AndyDye recently said "yep, more of the same, yadda yadda from cable yoda...he's amazing, just get cables from him!" Cable Yoda, liking that Dave is the only person I buy cables off. Superbly made quality gear at a great price with great service. Thanks again Dave, no doubt speak soon. EDIT, forgot to mention, this was a custom, short, amp to wireless receiver cable of highest quality.
13. I have just received a modern faker from a well known person (as long as you know the page, the secret password and today's fish ). I posted a review on a certain social media page. I will do an edited version of the review on here sometime next week, when I have received my new scratchplate and Rickenbugger (tm Jon Price ) TRC.
14.
Where does it say 11.5lb?
It doesn't. I pm'd him. If the answer had been <9.5lb you lot would never have seen this bass Ray, that Bruges bar sounds VERY much like Ziggi's
15. Terrific amps. Powerful, light, easy to use. Bargain price. Interesting thread from owners in the Gear forum As you were.
16.
Well..I'm watching it . Really considering buying it and replacing my dean taxi bass. I'm a headless guy, but this just rocks ! Karlifer , I am saying a few expletives in your direction
Jolly good
17. Those were the days. These pop up occasionally but not in this wonderful colour. Only reason I'm sharing and not buying is 11.5lbs , can't hack that nowadays http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/291684786654?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
18. Hiya, I'm guessing this is the one in Wakefield? (probably wrong, I usually am ).
19. Hmm, great photography great amp daft daft price lovely bloke Why is this still here after nearly an hour!!!!!!! No luck required at THAT price Tim.
20. TWO Sandberg Umbo's, that's just greedy Bump for a great and tempting amp.
21.
Well, a scrap of paper with all the Rolling Stones autographs, a seller wants £750. That includes a signature by Brian Jones, which I would imagine bumps up the price significantly.. I would have to say that it is around £2000 overpriced. Maybe £500 tops as although it is a cheap guitar, it is better than a scrap of paper. An album is for sale with the current line up, plus Bill Wyman for £1850, and it doesn`t even include the record. No idea how long these items have been up for sale. These are completed listings of Rolling Stones autographs from ebay. so may give a clearer indication of it`s true value. http://www.ebay.co.u...=p2045573.m1684 pasted wrong link
As I wrote timmo, anybody can ask what they like. I just didn't think Basses for Sale/Trade was the right place. TBH I didn't think Basschat was the right place, but that is only an opinion and certainly not my call. If I'd seen where it had moved to I wouldn't have started the thread. I only did so because I thought it had been removed.
22. Ooops, yup, it's been moved. I'm gonna be in trouble Apologies Mods, please delete this thread I did check the guitars section before I posted this, but NOT the section it has been moved to
23. It's been removed. Anybody can ask what they wish for an instrument. Nearly £2300 for an £89 guitar (thankfully not a bass ). Well done that Mod!
24.
I'm getting better all the time Karl me awd buddy I get the pickup thing now.
Good to hear you are on the mend fella
