1. This laddie had this bass up at £2000 on Facebook a couple of months back. It has steadily gone down in the ensuing weeks. I might just mail him saying if you got it given and I give you £700, we should both be happy. I personally reckon that would be a decent price as they are about £1100 new and few have come up for resale yet. Then again, mebbes not
2.
Nice colour, very cool! The AV74 Jazz's are very good indeed - even as a normally non-Jazz player, I like 'em a lot. Mark at Bass Direct has one at a good price at the mo as well......apologies for adding to your GAS.... GLWTS sale anyway!
Cheers Mr. Bob. Yup the one at Mark's at £1350 + courier is a nice bass, but rosewood board He also has an 11 year old AV75RI at the same price as my bass, very nice and tempting All the best, Karl.
3. Thanks guys, very kind. It's my last rosewood board so no big hurry. The trades I'm looking far aren't too common. Despite it being a reasonable price for such a bass, £1000 is still an awful lot of money to find, so I don't really expect it to go too quickly. Especially at this time of the year . Cheers, Karl.
4. I'm in touch with a couple of guys on here who are interested. There's 2 guys on FB who say they will get back to me on 31st (pay day). Must admit cameltoe, your comments have got me thinking about a Mighty Mite jazz neck, and some lollipops
5. As per title, Factory Special run, link to specs http://www.gak.co.uk...El90aAjVr8P8HAQ Oops apologies, I'm in Wigan. Few months old, selling as don't get on with rosewood. Light at 8lb 6oz, fitted with La Bella Deep Talking flats. One tiny dink, treble side of bridge pick up, but this nitro finish is built to age quickly. Brand new (£140) Fender Pro Series Tweed/orange finish hard case. Extra £35 for UK insured courier. HOWEVER, I WOULD MUCH PREFER TO TRADE, with either an AV74RI Jazz, or one of the latest series American Deluxe Jazzes (maple board, active/passive, 4 string. I'm not convinced about moving this on, as it's gorgeous, BUT, it's rosewood so unlikely to get much use. Feedback at bottom of thread. Cheers, Karl. Apologies for photos, only Noah taking pictures outside! 6. Legendary bass maker, bass and bassist Mr Murray, I guess it would be possible to get that wondrous beast adapted to EADG ?
7.
Now, I know the prices on these have gone up in the past couple of years, but surely sir, you are taking the wotsit with this. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/191742538109
Meh, ya, Grinch, it's free postage What are you, a Yorkshireman
8. All further PM'S replied thanks folks. Offers of two different US G&L's in one day Both rosewood boards , but both GREAT looking, quality basses. And a happy Christmas to you to Phil
9. Hmm, slap bass. If I wanted to slap things about, I'd have learned to drum. I just can't listen to slap. Mr King has a phenominal reputation, but from his early days, simply not for me. I'm that bad, whenever I watch any kind of video, as soon as the slap starts, it gets closed. Now, John Paul Jones, was he.......................
10. Absolute pleasure to deal with you Jamie, enjoy the P. Thanks for everything, deal with utmost confidence folks.
11. You could measure up and get Roqsolid to do you one. I've used them for years and they are very good. Mind, they are getting a little less competetive price wise, despite their current "sale". Good luck.
12.
I don`t think the sound on some of the clips did you justice. It was good though
That's really kind timmo, cheers Don't actually know who or how it was recorded, it just kinda appeared. Only sound I could hear on the day was them 4 cabs behind me. Monitors? What monitors
13.
Cider through a straw Karl,not good ,

That's not cider Rich, it's night nurse
Think I know what you both mean. Or have both you splendid looneys been at MY meds
Wow. I just keep coming back to look at this beauty I've not played a RW P before - I have a RW Jazz, and it's my fave bass ever This would look so good alongside my Jazz Wish I were a bit closer to you, so I could at least try this bass out .... then again, it's Christmas & I've already spent loads - so maybe it's a good thing you're a long way away? lol GLWTS for an amazing looking bass, at a good price
Thanks Marc.
14. Somebody recorded all our Troyen set at Northumbria Uni, earlier on this year. This track, Futures Friend, although a bit cheesy is my favourite. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JicTQrRWlVM Crazy Lady went down really well. Shame, cos I hate it
15. Good question, to which he replied he liked black
16.
Brilliant synopsis of the key eras of the Fender P! It's only in the last couple of years that I've come to appreciate the humble p-bass having spent the best part of 20 years before that deriding them as boring and unsophisticated (even referring to them as scaffolding planks with wires nailed on)! Loving precisions these days of course but a bit late to the party so a reference like this, all in one place, is really interesting and useful, thanks!
So many of us older chaps have had exactly that road
17. Jaco, to me, did open up a vision of what was possible to achieve on a bass guitar. Perhaps forgotten areas due respect; He must have worked very hard to achieve his dexterity and technique. He must have thought a lot about how he developed that dexterity and technique. There will be yays and nays obviously, but, that is also part of his legacy. One of the two bands I'm in is a covers band. I use the first minute or so of Blackbird as a bass intro to Doctor Doctor . Don't really know what that says, but personally I am hugely grateful that I HAD THE CHOICE to listen to Jaco.
18.
If things start getting desperate I've got a metallic plum purple USA jazz, though it's a rosewood board
GONE THANKS. Thanks Muff (I've ALWAYS wanted to say that ) but the bass is now on hold. Thanks all, cheers, Karl.
19. Many thanks for that Superb 8 string you built there
20. Last gasp. Will do a straight swap for either; US Fender Jazz, maple board, excellent condition. US MM Sterling, maple board, excellent condition. Cheers, Karl.
21. Unfortunately Eternashine recommend not to use on nitro Anybody recommend a body shop in Wigan/surrounds that can do this sort of stuff?
