1. Thanks guys, especially Bill as ever. Both tweeters are always off. It's always great to get a professional's advice. Guess that is why Vanderkley make them with that alignment
2.
Do they have a Phall range speaker? Or is the bottom end tikka?
It's going to be a long day isn't it!
3.
Yep, sorry for the derailment.
Expected it (and enjoyed it) Gary. I'm just living in fear of discrete moseying over
4.
This must be a first on BC. Cabs being sold cos the wife said they smell
Oh yus Anyway, back to the question instead of the mick taking
5. Just wondering what is the best way to stack them, photos 1,2 or 3. Basschat experts, your advice please. The cabs consist of 12" speaker on left, top right hole is tweeter, bottom right is port. Thanks as ever in advance, cheers, Karl. 6. As per title and link to spec/new price, as currently on offer at Bass Direct http://www.bassdirec...lification.html I got these in a 3 way deal. I don't want to split UNLESS 2 people agree to meet same time same place, and regrettably pay before meet/collection (Wigan). I can't afford to be left with one. I'm happy to meet up at no extra cost, between say Penrith/Brum/Leeds Going by the consecutive serial numbers, I guess they are both 2015. They are supposedly only 1kg lighter than my Bergs were, but do feel very light for what they are. This is a half hearted sale, because they smell a bit. Seems to be a curry kind of smell and I got berated by herself on Sunday. EDIT. Apparently this is not unusual, something to do with the glue and carpetting and wears off in time. Still present because they are always in their covers except when gigging. So it's a "look dear, I did try to sell them". Cheers, Karl. 7. I'm a bit slow on the uptake, is it one of these? http://barefacedbass.com/product-range/Big-Twin-2.htm
8. Adam, I'm really surprised this is still here. £700 is a fair price. My only suggestions would be to take some decent photos (even I can manage that, see my Nate Mendel ad) , put them on Photobucket, then copy and paste them here. Folk need decent photos, particularly of body and neck condition. I'm interested, as I'm sure other folk will be, but people can't judge from your photos. GLWTS
9. Damn it young Master Tim, you are good
10. BOO HISS!!!!!!! It may well be sold but we (well me) DEMAND comedy plate mock ups before thread lock
11. Good, now bugger off foul temptress I have been having nightly dreams about this very bass with a black mirrored scratchplate with a silver Eye of Horus on it
12.
From memory these are slimmer front to back too aren't they?
Yes Damon, slimmer front to back than most Fender's but not quite as slim front to back as a Lakkie Bob Glaub
13. Thanks everybody, all pm's replied. Tim, it's slightly less shallow front to back vs a Glaub, but it's a much narrower nut with. Glaub 44.5mm Standard P 41.6mm Standard jazz 38 mm This 40mm cheers, Karl.
14. One of these fellas http://www.guitargui...tm-dhoCIgfw_wcB I have the chance of something a bit special, so putting this up for a short time. I would also be interested in something Fender, US and a bit special. I have cash available to add to this. Like all Mendels, slightly slimmer neck/nut, high mass bridge and SD pups. Lovely gigging bass, light at just over 8.5lbs. £525 collected from Wigan, £550 couriered mainland UK. My apologies for the photos, it's lashing it down plus I'm completely knackered after 2 late night gigs. Thanks for looking, Karl. 15. Hi, welcome to the forum. Might help your sale if you tell folk where you are based and also if you are prepared to courier (at buyers cost). Nice bass, good luck with the sale.
16. Stunning bass. Passive Light weight What seems an amazing price (I don't know with Warwick's) for a custom shop. I would guess, like many, it's too long a trip to collect. Might be worth having a look at Parcelhero, through their UPS service. Unlike Interparcel, they will quote over 125 cms. Wrap the case in bubblewrap, insure at £750, pass cost onto buyer. Probably total around £35. Just a thought. Good luck.
17. Great bass. Great bloke. FABULOUS photography. Hurry up and get it bought peeps.
18. Bugger, that was quick Andy, didn't even get time to put my Nate Mendel Precision up for sale
19. With me being a magpie gear whore who changes gear more than often than his under crackers, the fee is very reasonable, to get to a large, specific group of buyers. I always post on here 1st. 2nd call is the varying FB groups, probably a day later. The Bumtree and FEEBay usually a few days later. If I need to sell something, I will advertise it in as many avenues as possible. I do think the market here is generally very realistic, although I do get the impression bass gear goes for a bit more on the continent. Mods, please feel free to edit, but, sometimes, when I see something come up from some of our continental friends, I think to myself, you ain't gonna get that price from somebody in the UK. Honestly Mods, not any kind of incitement, just a personal observation.
20. Welcome, it ain't gonna be around long that's for sure
21. Good luck. I would have had that if I wasn't 200 miles away.
22. Chris it was an absolute honour to meet you. Same hometown, school and college helps, but the years have been a LOT kinder to you This guy is just amazing to deal with folks, fully recommended. All the best and enjoy the Sterling, wish I could play it as well as you!
23. Stuart is an absolute gent, the kind that makes Basschat so bloody good. My thanks Stuart.
24.
Karl, not a problem my friend!
Really really sorry Stuart. Just so thankful you were so helpful. Sorry to all, bass picked up an hour ago, thanks for all the interest.
25. There ended up 8 people communicating with me on this Sterling. Some emails crossed and it all got a bit complicated. Just a note re Mr. vmaxblues. Stuart I can't thank you enough for graciously letting me off the hook. You are very kind.
