Adam, I'm really surprised this is still here. £700 is a fair price. My only suggestions would be to take some decent photos (even I can manage that, see my Nate Mendel ad) , put them on Photobucket, then copy and paste them here. Folk need decent photos, particularly of body and neck condition. I'm interested, as I'm sure other folk will be, but people can't judge from your photos. GLWTS

One of these fellas http://www.guitargui...tm-dhoCIgfw_wcB I have the chance of something a bit special, so putting this up for a short time. I would also be interested in something Fender, US and a bit special. I have cash available to add to this. Like all Mendels, slightly slimmer neck/nut, high mass bridge and SD pups. Lovely gigging bass, light at just over 8.5lbs. £525 collected from Wigan, £550 couriered mainland UK. My apologies for the photos, it's lashing it down plus I'm completely knackered after 2 late night gigs. Thanks for looking, Karl. Stunning bass. Passive Light weight What seems an amazing price (I don't know with Warwick's) for a custom shop. I would guess, like many, it's too long a trip to collect. Might be worth having a look at Parcelhero, through their UPS service. Unlike Interparcel, they will quote over 125 cms. Wrap the case in bubblewrap, insure at £750, pass cost onto buyer. Probably total around £35. Just a thought. Good luck.

With me being a magpie gear whore who changes gear more than often than his under crackers, the fee is very reasonable, to get to a large, specific group of buyers. I always post on here 1st. 2nd call is the varying FB groups, probably a day later. The Bumtree and FEEBay usually a few days later. If I need to sell something, I will advertise it in as many avenues as possible. I do think the market here is generally very realistic, although I do get the impression bass gear goes for a bit more on the continent. Mods, please feel free to edit, but, sometimes, when I see something come up from some of our continental friends, I think to myself, you ain't gonna get that price from somebody in the UK. Honestly Mods, not any kind of incitement, just a personal observation.

Chris it was an absolute honour to meet you. Same hometown, school and college helps, but the years have been a LOT kinder to you This guy is just amazing to deal with folks, fully recommended. All the best and enjoy the Sterling, wish I could play it as well as you!

Stuart is an absolute gent, the kind that makes Basschat so bloody good. My thanks Stuart.
Oh, Oh was it the Rick?
No Andy, non of the Ricks. I spouted that most MM US Sterlings go for around £650/£700, then promptly put mine up for £750 I actually did a bit more research and found historically they had gone from about £650 up to around £900 . That's me, gob in gear, brain in neutral!

Thanks guys. Mr James MM do a standard model STINGRAY, called the SLO, that has a jazz neck but they are few and far between in the UK. And at a premium I believe. The Sterling was originally brought out in 1993 as a slimmer neck Stingray, bassically to compete with Fender jazz necks. pfonck, I will ship to Europe IF the buyer pays and organises their own courier. This is because in the unlikely event it goes wrong in the UK, I can get in my car and go give a couriers head office a hard time. I can't do that on the continent. Please check my feedback. Thanks Tom, really kind, hope you are ok dood. Nowt wrong with the neck, but you might not like the rosewood FRETBOARD Cheers Tonci, you have some wonderful basses so that is praise coming from you EDIT. Ooops, all pm's replied, many thanks to all.

22nd June 1994 Musicman Sterling. Pearl white, very good condition with a few little bumps. Jazz profile neck, rotaries are vol/bass/mid/treble, slider is both parallel or both series or one coil plus phantom. Weighs 8lb 9oz great player but I just can't get on with active basses. If it doesn't go in a couple of weeks I may look at getting it converted to passive. Great condition for this 21 year old US bass. £750 collected from Wigan (or meet up within 50 miles of Wigan) . £780 couriered mainland UK. Comes complete with world's worst most beaten up, but usable Fender hardcase. Any trial welcome in Wigan, any questions etc. Not to be confused with the Sterling by Musicman or Sterling Ray34, the actual Sterlings are around £1500 new.C Cheers, Karl.
900 quid for a brand new 2 band Stingray is mental! I'm currently looking for one which I guess is good news for me, but a bitter pill for anyone trying to sell one!
They only had 2, both standard colours and I got a feeling they were reduced to get them through, possibly by the UK distributor. One thing is for sure, by Tuesday I'm going to regret a previous comment about what particular basses seem to sell for
