1. Bass Direct were advertising 2 new Stingrays last week at £900
 2. My Fender P/J is rare in the UK. Only 6 Sea Foam Pearl and 6 Black made it to the UK. It's not old. It's not for sale. But it is rare (in the UK). Don't know why I fet the need to make this post tbh
 3. Oh dear God Collection from Northumberland I'm guessing? Would be great to see photos of back of scratchplate, pups, plus pots, neck pocket, neck heel, but in this instance not vital I guess. Weight please? And would you consider cheaper basses in part ex. Now I'm going for a sit down
 4.
F) Karlfer is flooding the market
Cheeky
Completely agree about those kind of distances, and agree that if the buyer is travelling too then there should be no contribution expected. However, if a buyer in Scotland wants me to deliver their bass to them ( I am in Warwickshire) as they don't trust couriers and they don't drive themselves , offering to do so for petrol money is imo perfectly acceptable.
Spot on Kev, couldn't agree more. It's down to having sensible negotiation. Sometimes folk don't do themselves any favours with the wording on their adverts. "No offers" "Collection only" whilst setting out the terms from the off, will undoubtedly cost the interest of some potential buyers. "Prefer collection" "might be prepared to talk about price" send out a much more positive vibe to potential buyers. If they then look, and see good photos of a good bass at a reasonable price...................... I come back to the main point really. If you want to sell something you have to put the effort in and may need to make some small compromise. I have an awful rep as a gear whore, but quite a lot of what I have done recently has involved trades and a little bit of money. This is because I needed to shift two of my Ricks on and obviously couldn't do it here. By taking various part ex's and then moving them on, I have finally got the money I wanted for the Rick's in the 1st place. It took me a long time and 6 transactions, with quite a few compromises, but I got there in the end. Now, back to the purdy piccys
 5. At £1000 and in that condition it's a re issue.
 6.
Demand is low and supply is high. I don't think enough sellers have worked that out yet and are still pricing based on what it was like a few years ago when the economy was booming. I'm not convinced that those glory days are ever coming back, especially with the ever-increasing quality of budget gear. Suspect that the guys who justified owning a million instruments by saying "I can always get back what I paid for them if it comes down to it" may well be in for a nasty shock at some point.
Bang on!
 7. The one that really pisses me off "will travel 25 miles radius for petrol money"
Out of curiosity, why?
If somebody want's to sell Kev, IMO, they need to be willing to show a little compromise AND put a big effort into it. Asking for petrol money (especially in that instance, a fivers worth) is (again IMO) putting a barrier up to the sale. Say I live 70 miles away and want to buy something. If I'm happy to drive 45 miles to meet up, the seller really should be prepared to drive 25 miles at no extra charge, to meet up. Of course people can set whatever terms and charges they wish. But it might be an idea for them to look at it from a potential buyers point of view. I'm hoping wholeheartedly I'm finished buying/trying/selling. To achieve that I will need to STOP LOOKING AT BLOODY PICTURES in the "Basses for sale"
 8.
I spent a couple of years away from BC, and the Marketplace seems to have changed an awful lot in that time. Aside from sellers' fees (which I have no particular problem with) there's now a hell of a lot more seriously high-end boutique stuff, and what feels like very little variety in the sub-£500 end of the market. Realistically that's the area that's interesting to me, and I'd suspect to a lot of other potential purchasers too. A lot of the sellers also don't seem to be active in the BC community outside the "for sale" section either - you can come away with the impression that there are lot of EU-based trade sellers using BC as an outlet these days. I can't help wondering if that has pushed sellers of more modest gear towards the various FB groups that have sprung up. Jon.
Spot on as ever Lothians Diplomatic Attache. Mind, on further thought, the one bit that really bugs me is " I only want back what I paid for it 3 years ago". Rent free instument for 3 years? Good luck with that, but I know one buyer you've alienated
 9. Good advert. Decent pictures. Flexibilty in courier/meet up. A price that is fair to both buyer and seller. Too many look at Feebay prices and expect the same on here. Feebay now, people basically try to cover the 13.4 % charges (inc carriage). Hence basses up for months in there. Any £950 for basses that cost £700 15 years ago? Gi yer heid a shake. If you look back at the popular quality instruments on here, you will see a consistence in prices THAT BASSES HAVE SOLD AT. US Precision MM Sterling and Bongo usually SELL around £650/£700 US Jazz and MM Stingray usually SELL around £700/£750 If anybody wants more they will usually be in for a wait. The one that really pisses me off "will travel 25 miles radius for petrol money"
 10. Top geezer is our Muzz. He's just done all the donkey work on a three way deal. Leg end you are mate, leg end Si thee soon.
 11.
Christ, that is a bargain... Oldham is a bit of a schlep though!

To far for me...

Argh 4.5 hour drive! Good luck
Yep, usually the other way round, normally it's us poor northerners who can only look on in lust at cabs darn sarf Muzz is a top geezer, this is a steal.
 12. A bargain indeed, damn shame it's well over 200 miles away. GLWTS
 13. OFF TOPIC ALERT. Christian, what sort of business did your TecAmp cabs in white? Presumably not TecAmp themselves? Great looking basses by the way.
 14. Boner. Nice basses that didn't last too long in Fenders range. Pup selector, vol/tone and button for series/parallel.
 15. Welcome dood, nice bass, think it's actually a Japan 75 re issue. Put your photos into Photobucket, then copy/paste into your thread. Good luck.
 16. It's going to be a long day........
 17.
Thanks for the kind words Karl - & don't hesitate to shout if you'd like a plate for your Sterling - whatever floats your boat . . .
Oh ha de bloody ha, WRONG EDDIE ya muppet (as if you didn't know!)
 18. I'm a naughty boy Second time Tim has bought off me and I didn't leave feedback before. Huge apologies Tim. Anyway, he's brilliant. Decisive, paid very quickly, great comms and an absolute pleasure to deal with. Fully recommended peeps. AND, if you ever want a fully custom scratch plate, Tim is the man to go to. And I MEAN fully custom, owt (legal) you want. I'm seriously considering getting a white pearl with Eddie on it, for my Sterling
 19. Colour me interested! Appears the only current ones with 300 watts/8ohms are the EXT 112's. What a tease
 20.
Looks like 90% of the basses on BC went thru Karl's hands at some point This one is the beauty
Harsh and probably fair however, I've NEVER had a Stingray. I just copied and pasted from Matt's photobucket, so he had a photo on the advert. Must admit, looking at that, if Carlsberg made Stingrays...........................
