1. For crying out loud somebody please buy this wonderful Explorer. Before Shaggy reminds me of it again
2. Well done Tim, that was quick. Should have taken the deal offered shouldn't I
3.
Mine is a 2014 white MIM-P bass and there is nothing to alter on it, the pickup is very loud, I've had a few of these but this one is just amazing! Better than any US I've had. The only problem is the weight at just on 9lbs, I can't bloomin' well use it because of my back, bollox
Interesting Tom, I have to back off the amp gain a bit with my Dee Dee as it clips quite a bit sooner than the Road Worn Jazz, so that is quite a powerful pick up as well. Why are you hanging 9lb off your back bollox? Can I be your manager
4. For those who have asked, yes this is based on a 1970's Precision, hence "TV" logo. It also may well be lighter and better made than a lot of proper original 1970's Precisions, who can tell ? It is interesting to note that some places are advertising these as a Factory Special Run. Back in the 90's, the Geddy, the Marcus and the Duck Dunn all started as Factory Special Runs, ie limited amount originally. The Geddy and Marcus made it to full production and are still made to this day. The Duck Dunn didn't, so only one run of those was made, hence their limited availability today.
5. Have a bump Tim. Top bloke peeps, this will be a good one. GLWTS
6. OK,I'll ask seeing as everybody else appears to have gone shy. Would you consider trades? Good luck regardless, Karl.
7. Hmmmm, Markbass you say I wonder where one might get two Markbass Traveler 102P's (Italian) plus Roqsolid covers plus £150 without the need for a Gamma pad that could be sold separately. I also wonder where the innocent looking emoticon is
8.
Send them some pictures of the most portly bass player you can find, and tell them the pictures are of you!
In a lime green mankini.
9. For the benefit of the viewers Dave, would you consider off the wall trades, for example, well, I don't know, say such as a certain Precision I have up for sale plus £250 to you? Look, SOMEBODY was going to ask, might as well be me Here's a current thread that a party of your peers are running http://basschat.co.uk/topic/263089-mexican-fender-precisions/page__pid__2787859#entry2787859 Anyway, if you were to entertain trades, perhaps somebody will have something you require. All the best, Karl.
10. Thanks for that, nice weight for a Japanese. You are right, mine is a nice P, but sadly it's the modern C profile with 41.6mm nut width, or I'd be badgering you to give you £200 plus my P for your jazz. But we both know the neck isn't for you, even if you were considering any trades. That jazz of yours is just stunning, if my P goes............. Good luck anyway.
11. Right, asking stuff. Deliriously good looking bass. Don't get excited, my Dee Dee would have to sell (although I did put it up for another reason ) Just in case though, what's the actual weight of this, as many of us know some Japanese Fenders can be a tad weighty. Good luck regardless, cheers, Karl.
12. All 3 of my Fender's are Mex, all three play exceptionally well. So much so that in the last year, I've sold a couple of unmentionables, an Alembic, a Sadowsky, 2 SEI's plus my US basses. Guess I've just got lucky with 3 exceptional basses. Mind one of them is up for sale to fund a 1 pup unmentionable .
13. As it says Troyen are on tomorrow at the Rorke's Drift weekend in Brecon. It's been sold out for a while, but if anybody is going, please say hello There is a link to our stuff just below, cheers, Karl.
14. Hmm. I don't like Musicmans. I don't like actives. I don't like rosewood. I played this a couple of weeks back. IT WAS SENSATIONAL, so much so I had to beat a hasty retreat from Martin's gaff before yet another wallet emptying occurrence. This is a fabulous bass at a very daft little price, somebody is going to get very lucky. Martin's reputation is top class so get in there quick peeps. GLWTS loony tunes
15. Aha, Medicine Head once said One and One is One. But I know what 2 and 2 is (enigmatic or what ).
16. Last year we bought a new car. It's like it's owner, a long fat arse. If put up the drive (carefully) either we can't get out of the car, or can't get into the garage. Hence it get's left at the front of the drive. Hence I have to lift my gear over it at around 2am most Sunday mornings. Whilst these cabs are not heavy, lifting mine over my head at 2am was not fun for a weak old git. THAT IS WHY I SOLD MY ONE OF THESE, THE ONLY REASON. I could actually, at a push, carry it one handed, on the flat. If you get one of these, it is very easy to see why they are a cab pushing £1000 new. They are, IMO, phenomenal. The punch and low end are staggering, but they keep the clarity right through the volume range. Si is a top guy, this is an amazing cab at a good price. GLWTS mr.
17. Bugger, serves me right for going to a rehearsal
18. Lovely Lozz. The bass ain't bad either
19. Great bass, great geezer, get it bought. I thangu
20. It seems, Isabass lives in Nice, France, but shipping appears to be included. As this has the large logo and original copy headstock, that the bass was made between very late 70's and 1984. Sources say the headstock and logo changed in 1985 after Fender rightly said enough. These basses appear to have a terrific reputation.
21.
What is 'The Toon' and why was it in danger of falling down? It is too heavy damn shame!
Newcastle United and if you'd seen our defence you wouldn't have needed to ask I knew you need basses under 8lb in weight Tom this doesn't quite get there. All PM's replied thank you. Lloyd, especially tempting but I must stay on the chosen route
22. Quite light at 8lb 5oz Tom, me owld apfel strudel, however, that is over the weight that you need sadly. On the positive side, The Toon stayed up, so all is well (whadya mean I'm a selfish git ).
23. FWIW Dave, I think the price is very fair and although I'm ecstatic with the sound of my 2 MB Traveler 102p's, I would still flog them to raise some of the funds for these. Only reason I haven't put them back up is because frankly I was pissed about for Britain with them and I just can't face putting them up for sale again. They were sold twice and neither person turned up. Yours are tremendous lightweight, accurate, powerful quality cabs. If you aren't desperate for the money, just keep bumping occasionally. GLWTS
