Fender Custom Shop Relic 70's Precision *SOLD*
karlfer replied to 4 candles's topic in Basses For Sale
A few months back, I bought my amazing Road Worn Jazz from Mark. Whilst I was enjoying his hospitality, he let me play this bass. It's looks are simply stunning. It is also, the best, bar none, Precision I have played in 40 years. I really wish I could raise the funds for this, but I can't. Somebody is going to be very lucky and get probably the finest Fender of any type that I have had the pleasure of playing. Mark is a top guy as well. Good luck with the sale my friend, I'm guessing it is reluctant. -

Fabulous looking bass Chris. I hope you don't mind, but I have put this up on the Yamaha Attitude Facebook page. Billy's "The Wife" bass was quite close to this, so just in case any of them fancy a project. If you would like it removing, just let me know. Great looking bass with an awful lot going for it, especially at that price. Must resist -

From sound guy, "surprisingly state of the art , 2 x 12A7, 1 x EL84, 1 x EZ80. 1 x ELAC 8x5 speaker with input transformer. Tone,Volume,Beat,Speed Controls. (Tremelo like effect). The valves in it, are the basis of many modern amps, they we only designed 5 years before this Heath Robinson. Might be an early Watkins Westminister who started in 1951? Only thing inside is the the date 2nd March 1951. Serial Number 1141. 240V AC."

Thanks guys. As predicted no rapid response from sound guy Dansette was a word that sprung into my tiny brain.

Cheers Mykesbass, will try him on ******fakers.
Why do the amp experts have to be so old?
No whippersnappers should have the knowledge . I thought about editing the title then thought CBA. I will ask our beloved soundman for more details. I hope I have the life expectancy to get a reply.

Slightly against the flow here. I had a lovely Sea Foam Green Limelight 64 tribute made for me. It was exceptionally good, but for whatever intangible reason, it just wasn't "the one". I managed to get a used Mex Fender Roadworn Jazz in Fiesta Red and it really is exceptional. It even replaced my FSR as no. 1 gig bass, and that took some doing. So, perhaps one of them is worth trying?

Our sound guy has put an appeal up to identify this purported 1951 amp. Any ideas will be gratefully passed on to him. Cheers in advance (ps if you know what it is, well, I thought I was sad ) Karl. There is also bass bin north east and I know there is a south east based F/B page but I left that one because of a couple of know it all smart arse, last word, it's worth this much mate type of knob heads. If you courier it obviously doesn't matter what region you advertise in.

Delivered, £67 vat and import duties paid in cash. Jeez, I'm such a worry wort Thanks for everything guys, cheers, Karl.

No use to you I'm afraid, because of price, but I got a TTE and gigged it for the first time last Sunday. It was frankly sensational. And loud. Very loud. Two Blackstar wielding guitards, mic'd up drummer, rock, and I had the master on 7 0'clock , gain at about 1 o'clock for much tubey goodness. Warm and punchy. All 3 of the band turned round after the 1st number and chorused "that is 'kin awesome". They don't normally say hello until the second set I had my two cabs up for sale and withdrew them as soon as I got home I read on Talkbass that stats for Markbass failures showed to be less than 1 %, but obviously for the poor buggers in that 1% it is a big deal.

Absolute perfection, IMO. If I hadn't removed my Markbass 210's I would have been busting a gut to sell them and get these. Dave is not just a top class bassist, but a top class diamond geezer as well. Good luck with the sale fella, I shall be watching via satellite for dodgy geezers in trenchcoats and Homburgs at Lanark Lock -
Anti-GAS, or being happy with what you've got.
Bwa-ha-ha-ha-hah-haaahhh!!
Oh quelle surpris You want to try one of those Markbass TTE 500 Randy Jackson, I think you may enjoy -
Cheers Gary, done that, waiting for a reply. Thanks to you and Clarky, know what to do/expect now. You two should work in courier management

Cheers Ash. I did use to use this as a practice amp, with a Blues Brothers/Commitments band in Scotland. Strange it's not been snapped up. Needs a bit of work with contact cleaner but far from unusable, certainly more than enough power for home rehearsal. So, amp head, speaker, in a box, for less than some sets of strings cost! Funny old world eh

First time I've imported something, a Warmoth neck. So it's arrived at Manchester and the tracking now states "receiver to pay taxes or duties on this parcel". Sadly it doesn't tell me how to do that, where to do that, or what happens next. In 24 hours its gone from Fife (in Washington) to Seattle, to Louisville to Philadelphia to Manchester. I now have the feeling it's going to sit in Manchester for a fortnight Anybody with experience of what happens next please? Cheers, Karl.
