1. Would be mine but collection only, [s]near the equator[/s] in London ain't happening. Somebody is going to get happy! WELL DONE on the heads up though
2. Yowser If I don't manage to get the green one on FEEBay and this is (unlikely) still here................... GLWTS
3. Beautiful. If it had been a 4.................. I should never have sold my Bleached Blonde Thumb, which looked quite similar. Have a bump.
4. Presumably the Sadowsky is gone?
5. So in conclusion the JV thing can be a bit of a nightmare to figure out then. Well, when you are dim like me. Many thanks all. Glad I sold the bass and didn't take any kind of JV in exchange
6. Didn't fully read the ad, namely the don't post bit. I would guess one of our Glaswegian guys would probably help out for a bottle of Buckie (joking lads ) If you are really after it discreet, put an ad up see if somebody will collect/box up?
7.
Well... I don't like Les Paul shape basses, I don't like rosewood fretboards, I don't like block markers, I don't like tune-o-matic bridges, I don't like trans flame/burst finishes and I don't like green or blue basses. But apart from that... yes, it looks really cool!
Speaking of such I presume you know there's a 4040 up for sale on Bumtree, 400 sovs (for you suveners) in Glasgae? I do like this one by the way JJW
8. After much research, it would appear that the first run of Flashbacks (96/98) only about 60 were made. These had the 2TEC bridge. The second lot, about 150 made between around 98/2000 had the usual 2 piece Warwick bridge. I have just decided against buying one with the 2TEC as it APPEARS it had a replacement neck, made in 2000. Ye Gods my brain hurts
9. Check link from site Ordering and Availability
10. I haven't read the thread, but no doubt like us, thousands of bands across the globe dedicated a song to him last night. We changed our opener. Thanks for everything big man RIP.
11.
So that would be why AC wasn`t using one on Jools Holland on Tues - he can`t get one yet.
12.
the adam clayton jazz looks nice!!...for £1600, nitro finish would have been good but I suppose you can't have everything
It does, but Thomann not due until December?
13. I the unlikely event Nick hasn't bought this, what is the weight of the bass, and the nut width please? Good luck regardless, cheers, Karl.
14.
That is interesting, top dollar for basses with added covers and screw holes. Rare but altered, sounds familiar....
EDIT. I notice Cotswoldguitars have a nice one up on FEEBay, with Fender stamped in the actual neck pocket
15. I've seen two go for that on FEEBay about 3 years ago. Post #8 in the following thread is also quite interesting Pair of 1st series Fender JV Basses (P&J) Uber rare ...
16.
Always nice when the good guy wins
Might not quite be the case yet.
17.
****!!
That was it Thank God for discreet, you always cheer me up bud (even if you did flog your Limelight )
18. Ho hum, VERY interesting chaps and thank you for that. I had a feeling there was a bit of, erm, not quite right-ness going on . I have also seen knocked up JV plates on FEEBay and I figured something was nudging the back of my mind. My thanks to you all, cheers, Karl.
19.
Very, very nice. Why weren't you going to post on BC again, btw? PM me.
It'll be something you said
20.
I said I was never going to post on BC again but my Limelight P is ready and it should be logged IMHO so: CAR with maple, parchment scratchplate and Trubass strings. I collect it in week 2 November.
Oh Lordy, THAT is gonna thump Congrats and enjoy when the time comes.
21.
Erm, he's responding to a satire of audio woo which was deliberately as wrong as possible in as many ways as possible. Was this not obvious when it was a post pretending to sell green tape that you stick on your bass saying that it would make your bass sound better? It's looking to me as there has been a severe case of *whoosh* here. That the tape absolutely does not work, and could not work in the way described was the entire point.
Don't be ridiculous. It's green tape, of course it works
22. I have been offered a couple of these as trades recently. I know they are deemed as legendary and a couple of years back were swapping hands at north of £1500. I think I read somewhere that the ultra rare 1st lot with big Fender, little Squier on the headstock, ALL had made in Japan in little writing on the headstock. IE, they didn't have made or crafted in Japan at the back, heel, of the neck. Have I read wrong experts? Thanking you in anticipation Cheers, Karl.
