Basschat scoop! Manchester Bass Lounge is re-launching...
karlfer replied to Skol303's topic in General Discussion
Just such a massive improvement on what went before. So much so I have a daily look in on the site and Faecesbook. That 70's P is getting more and more tempting -
So, tricky one this. I have bought three items from Bass Gear over the last couple of months. In all three cases, it has been Barrie who has sorted the deal and the gear. He has been bloody fantastic, sorting out good deals and getting them to me very quickly. Thanks for everything Barrie, you are a star! Your efforts to sort me out have been superb, as has been your patience with my windbag ramblings. All the best fella and no doubt speak soon, cheers, Karl,

My two. The Melt is just amazing in all ways. The headless stealth arrived yesterday, great sound, weighs nothing . My 1st venture into headless, don't think that's for me

Very easy deal, top fella to buy off. The gear was in far better condition than he had modestly claimed. Fully recommended, all the best Alan.
I'm waiting for the run-down of how the actual gig turned out, in whch you go down a storm, meet some great folks and get signed for a 5-year record deal with a major, thanks to a passing mogul doing charity work himself. That's what's going to happen, isn't it..? Well, isn't it..?
Erm probably not but love the two guys chomping popcorn! How do I copy that then please Dad?

Bought this last Friday to put on my La Cabronita, which sold on Saturday So, its off a Mex Classic series 60s jazz which actually sell at about £700 new. Maple neck, rosewood board, gloss urethane finish, C shape, 34" scale, 7.25 radius, 20 vintage style frets, synthetic bone 1.5" nut, white dot inlays, vintage style slotted truss rod nut. The guy selling it had stripped the headstock and painted it matt black. This didn't matter to me as it was going on a black La Cabronita body. I would think it would strip but I'm not doing it. The truss rod works fine as do the tuners. The neck is not immaculate, there is a dint and a couple of lacquer bits gone. The black paint job is not the best in the world. None of this can be noticed from a couple of feet away. There is a lacquer crack on the back of the headstock, but that's all it is. The lacquer is a bit discoloured around it. All the noticeable bad bits are in the photo. Would this be a decent replacement for something like a P neck, yup, or I wouldn't have bought it. I am also including the waterslide decal in the photos. £70 collected from Wigan, £80 couriered mainland UK. Sorry, cleared cheque, cash on collection or bank transfer only. PLEASE read my feedback at bottom of post. Any questions please feel free. Sorry about the photos, cheers, Karl.
Yeah I'm really sorry but I'm with Ray. But that doesn't mean sh*t really, other peeps will love it!
What you get up to in your own time is your business Seriously though Nige, thanks for taking the trouble to listen and comment, appreciated! Apparently the two tracks have now been removed as the Kickstarter thing has, er, started. That campaign is to help fund the recording/mixing of 10 track CD we hope to release before Brofest in Feb.

Allowing someone to use your bass at a gig.

I always carry a spare bass. It has proved absolutely vital with string breaks. Can be up and running in seconds for the next song, after finishing the current song with 3 strings. In 40 years of countless gigs, I've had to do this twice -
Chris, following link contains the details on you bass as I was so desperately tempted myself. Was glad when you bought it, putting me out of my dilemma. Fortunately, with a second SEI inbound, I can't afford this GLWTS, Karl LINKY!! I look after my gear in an almost psychotic manner and will very rarely loan anybody any gear. Folk I know, who will respect my gear are different though. Even then, I will say to them "If anything gets damaged, I will need you to put it right". On the VERY rare occasion I need to borrow something, I offer them that guarantee . My attitude is from several years back when I loaned a relative youngster my original, immaculate, first run, ABM 500. He dropped it, laughed and said "oops". -
I know exactly what you mean sir! What are you selling?
Just shows what a marketing genius I am. Have a look at any post I have made. 2 lines below where it says 14 Limelight, there is some big red writing. The line below that is a link to the bass I have for sale.
