Another little update. A two gig weekend, not recommended at my age, or in this heat. Last night in particular, the place was hotter than a solar flare The more I use this amp, the more I find out about it. Using the contour full on, all the rest "flat" brings out a beautiful John Paul Jones kinda noise on the FSR, my current fave bass of all times . Backing the contour down to noon brings it back into the realms of growl I like for Metallica, Saxon etc. This really is an incredible little amp for the money. If you us the graphic eq to boost the mids, the volume is just crazy! Try one if you can, very impressive.

Drummist has been requested many times not to book more than one gig per weekend, max 3 gigs per month. So, 6 gigs in June and this weekend Fri night and Sat night. God I'm wrecked. Both pretty good, really loving the Carvin BX 700 and the Mex FSR P/J passive. One guy on Fri night said it was almost as though the bass was an extension of my body. Yes, it has grown into me as I'm now dead, or it bloody well feels it The heat didn't help. Very distracting with young things who appear to be unable to afford full clothing
I really want to try a tele bass to see how the sound and feel compares to my USA p (what I really want is a '77 tele bass but I lack the beans to obtain such a thing), if you buy it can you swing by Sheffield for a brew on your way back to Wigan so I can meet it?
May one suggest you have a touch of google maps looking at the relative positions of Wigan (where I live) Manchester (where the bass lives) and Sheffield (where you live) Mr Shuker has still not replied to my email of yesterday morning so currently I can not go forward anyway. Yet. -
Don't you have a new Genz cab to play with Karl? Edit: bugger, just seen that it was withdrawn at the last minute - what a tease!
That's the polite version!!! Had my S12V for 16 months, it is excellent, but.......................I'm bored, new toy required Please sir can I be 3rd on list just in case?
Glad it was someone on 'ere! If it's a good 'un but you decide you don't want it (in a few months after all my house-move b0ll0cks is sorted out, preferably!) you could make an easy tenner on it by flogging it to me - been regretting selling the 2 SR800s I had for some time now... J.
A tenner Jon, you have a reputation to uphold. A fiver surely
Kudos to those that have bookings tonight and honour it even if they know they will probably play to a half empty pub or a full one watching the England match rather than the band. I guess the smart move is to just start early and get it all wrapped up by 11pm? We potentially had a wedding to do but thankfully it got called off so I'll be in front of TV with feet up and beer in hand...
We started 7pm finished 9pm, home 10.30. As if it wasn't enough the match being on, it was a very warm night, so whilst there were a lot of folk there waiting for the game, most of them were sat outside. Very grateful to the 20 or so VERY noisy folk that stayed inside.
Hello there all, The Bat Bass is indeed mine - I've listed it on here too - eBay removed the listing because Fender complained it was counterfeit. Hopefully I've remedied that now, along with ensuring that he is now comfortable with his sexuality now Bassassin. It's always struck me as a great way to personalise a bass, but appreciate it may not be to everyone's taste . . .
You tell 'em Tim I particularly love the bat sign on the scratch plate. Can you do one for me please, just all photos of Amanda Righetti A change in the Dog and Duck from sunburst!
Karlfer - nice to hear from you - that EQ pedal has done wonders for Mrs TimAl's loathing of bass through the kitchen ceiling during practice! Commissions are possible - but really I see it as an 'ad hoc' thing - whenever I come across a bass that is suitable AND reasonably priced I'll go to town - I think a Viz one would be rather cool, plus perhaps some brand of strong alcoholic beverage - but early days. Agreed about paper bag, may have to rethink headstock logo & change it to 'Faker' . . .
I was actually thinking discreet would want a Razzle version
If I was to have one it would be a Burgundy Mist P Bass with the biggest chunkiest neck option available with a maple fingerboard & probably a black scratch plate.
Try gold anodised plate with that. Saw one with that spec. POODLES PRIVATES!
