JV's were going out at up to an astronomical £1500 a couple of years ago. Quite a few in the £1200 bracket. Now bringing not a lot more than half that. Dingus is right of course, but there are more complex reasons at work as well.

Link updated but not sure if the poster's security settings allow public viewing, as it obviously just comes straight up for me. If it doesn't work, try Karl Altdorfer on Faecesbook. As I stated, it's low quality on a phone camera, you can just about hear a bit of bass. Mind you, when people have done this in the past, you couldn't hear ANY bass.
I'm just curious but in what way did it impact on the 2nd hand market?
Well for example Marcus Miller jazzes. As they came to the end of the Japanese production, they were selling new at over £1000. So people put them up second hand at £750/£850. A quick search on t'interweb showed that their 2004 (for example) MM had sold new for £449. So people looked at £850 second hand and thought privately, " ye hav te be jokin bonny lad".

Tim, don't know if you are aware of the US folks in the following link, but they do a superb range of top quality decals for fretboards including fake MOP. That Bob Glaub with the Billy Sheehan fret markers, they came from Creative Cuts. Reasonably priced, excellent quality and service and even a goon like me can fit them http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/creative-cuts

I think there are a lot of factors at work. Huge amounts of basses for sale here. Many of us have been spoilt for choice over the last few years. FEEBay has seen sellers push up prices to cover the 13.4% you CAN be charged, some folk try for the same sort of price on here as is seen for an item on FEEBay. Once upon a time you would see the numbers online indicator at the bottom of the home page showing 3000/5000 online, now it rarely shows more than about 500. That suggests a significant drop in people viewing, unless of course the method of counting them has changed. Oh, and a lot of folk are skint.

Is this "relatively" cheap because it's a set neck? Pity Norwich is 4.5 hours each way for me . Oh and it's a 5 string Warwick Dolphin SN5 Bass Guitar - Excellent Condition! | Long Stratton | Gumtree

Looks different, not the usual black box, obviously. My spine cries just looking at it. Those rotaries and switches wouldn't last very long where they are.
Nice one ... but we from europe will keep hands double off course
Sorry, not quite sure what you mean? If it's because I state UK only, I always do that HOWEVER, I have sold basses to Europe when asked to. I do ask for the following though. 1. Money to be paid in GBP, by bank transfer (this usually takes 3 days to clear from Europe). 2. Buyer to arrange their own INSURED courier, and buyer to let me know what day courier will collect. My feedback is linked below and shows I have done this in the past. I simply prefer NOT to do it as I have had problems (an Aerodyne lost for 3 weeks in Genoa airport springs to mind ). This bass ready for action at last nights gig
+ 1 for rosewood - must resist, please tell me it's a pan pot jobbie that I don't like and not a vol, vol, tone layout !!
Sorry Tim, IT IS vol vol tone ! By the way, Roqsolid appear to have a relaunch kinda thing with 15% off, so worth a try for your TC perhaps?

My avatar is almost exactly what Lozz said That was an outdoor festival with me through front of house, however, the cab was just on a flight case. Cheaper boxes are available, as are stands -
I like it. It's like a John Deacon with an extra bit. Sadly I am unable to make you an offer as you have something else I covet far, far more...
Not any more, the bass that must not be named has been sold, via Bumtree, she's gone I'm afraid ! This one is still currently here though!
Aye she's a thing of beauty.
Cheers Tim, hope you are ok fella!
OK, no point banging on - don't give me any more stick. No skin off my nose - I'll stay in my shell.
Genius punnist.

Thanks Barrie, get kettle on lad A punter recorded one of our first set numbers on Sat night apparently, on a mobile phone. As ever the quality is poor (and that's just the band) and you can never really hear the bass. It just about comes through in parts. Link below. Liam's dad responded to an ad I had on Gumtree for a bass whose name shall not be mentioned . This young 'un is a great little bass player of the generation that is now pushing forward music as we know it. I can not wax lyrical about him as I'm too old and brain befuddled, however his articulate feedback for me shows what a well educated, balanced, articulate fella he is. The transaction with him was absolutely flawless and he really was a joy to deal with. Fully recommended Basschatter even though he is currently brand new. A joy. Nice to meet you and your mum and dad Liam. They are obviously rightly extremely proud of you. Enjoy the bass, Basschat and music. It's all only for life . All the very best fella and if you need a chat you know where I am. Karl.
Great review Karl. I`m currently thinking of an amp plus 212 cab set-up, and your comments are leading the way to a Carvin/Barefaced at the moment.
Thanks Lozz, a very sweet fib! In all seriousness I could not do a technical review, and go through the fine edge of a fart at 43.72 hz. I can however, give a gut feeling of my gigging experience with it. The tech guys can do the rest.
Any time Karl - you may need to attend Wimbledon, Royal Ascot, Henley Regatta and possibly Glyndebourne to be fully accepted though
Many thanks Barrie, do all those events need catering staff? Must admit, I would LOVE a bass with LED's on the fret board!
