Thanks Karl, not doubt you'll treasure it as one of your own, and keep it safe in a temperature comtrolled and secure environment and not even glance at it sideways?
Aye, right
OK this thread is going to have to stop. It's bad for my wallet and therefore my personal safety if Mrs ead finds out I'm reading this kind of material on the interweb. However.....should I wish to (misguidedly) enquire about a Limelight version of a YOB bass as I cannot afford a 1960 original, where could information about about what was in production at that time be found? This is all hypothetical of course
Alain, in the interest of subterfuge, get it delivered to me , ring me when the coast is clear and I will bring it round Oh, and the following is the kind of thing in 1960 (not mine sadly) http://basschat.co.uk/topic/229141-for-sale-fender-custom-shop-60-nos/
Please stop. At some point I'm going to ask Mark about a Stack knob Jazz in Burgundy Mist with matching h/s. But I'm trying not too
Please do. Preferably light relic. Please post answers. I'm already saving up at the very thought

I did my first gig with my new amp last night, Carvin BX700. Worked far better with my S12V than the GK MB500 I had before. Both new would just about scrape into your budget, the cab being the expensive bit. As one of our guitarses said last night (looking at how the amp was set), "bloody Hell, you ain't even tickling it!". This against 2 guitarses and the drummer through the PA. And me not! Oh, and the Barefaced fits in the boot of Her Who Makes Toast By Breathing On Bread's Tigra convertible.

First gig with BX700 last night. Instant punch in chest, amazing power and sound, with virtually no fiddling. Slight cut on bass, slight cut on low mid at 200 hz, slight boost on high mid at 1.2khz (a soundman once told me to do that), no compression, graphic eq off, valve pre amp off. Drive about 1 o'clock, master at about 9 o'clock. Against miked up drummer and guitarses. Perception was much more powerful than GB Shuttle/ Streamliner 600, GK MB 500. Fabulous, and learning this amp has just started. Picture at home

Gareth has just got my Streamliner 600. Absolute gent to deal with, pretty much paid before I asked Great comms, did what he said he would do when he said he would do it. Very easy deal. Deal with great confidence peeps, fully recommended Basschatter. Go easy on the volume with the neighbours Gareth, all the best, Karl.

Looks like Rossi and Parfitt are living on an island Anyway, just had Steve Robinson Manchester Guitar Tech, set up my 4003. He has made it playable. VERY playable. Still hate it mind . I know Steve is on the list but really terrific job and a recommendation from me.

Power conditioners / Surge protectors...
karlfer replied to The Saint's topic in Repairs and Technical
I wish I could ask a question in such a humorous way I'd like to know the answer as well, although the only thing I actually have plugged is the amp (which is obviously connected to the cab and bass). -

If there is nothing on here close to you, try Facebook. Just do a search in the bar, top left hand corner. The beauty of local is you can go and try before you commit. Second hand, much more "bang for buck". For example, I know there are North West bass gear, South Wales Bassplayer, Bass market UK, Facebook groups. Good luck, Karl.
What about later in the day?
That could have been a LOT worse, I knew I'd left myself open there

Sounds like Att Ltd 1so it should have a little switch nearest the neck. You can do a search in the for sale section but with the Ltd 1 generally they seem to have gone for £800/£1200. Really depends on timing and if you drop on somebody desperately looking to get one. The following link may be worth a try https://www.facebook.com/groups/294500090592/

I've used nowt but the Premium Round Wounds for the last 5 years. Love them. They feel great, they last well, they sound good to me. Service from Dawn is excellent. I know nowt, but in the probably 300+ gigs I've done with them, they have been great workhorse strings.
Fender are now enforcing patents, wonder if the same ban will be applied.
Now THERE'S a thread! I was kinda thinking today, (shut it!) wonder if the same trademarks apply to the R*** 4005. Apparently the CEO calls them Tuna Boats and won't have them made again.
I can bring the whole range - they are all tiny and don't weigh much Only problem might be if we sell lots - another went today. . .
Oh yus!
