1.
Aye, NWB. I've sold a few items on there. Nice and quick. It cant compete with the marketplace on here though.
Not NWB Dunc, a Facebook group called something like North West Bass Gear for sale. I don't want to link it cos I got a bollocking from a Mod before.
 2. Get one of the Fender vintage pups and change the pots on the Mex. Bit cheaper
 3. No Mr Tom sir (pedant alert ) the FRETBOARD is rosewood. And it's sold. but thank you for the bump, hope you are ok. See, even a dog playing the piano wearing gloves has it's day
 4. Karl, sorry fella but you are completely BONKERS These are great basses and although you will "feel" a difference with a "proper" US Precision, believe me, it isn't that much in my opinion. I sold one of the first series of Highway 1 for more than that. And it was worth every penny and I've regretted it since. If one of the Blonde/Maple boards ever comes up it will be mine!! GLWTS but I would really think twice. You have a great, well specced bass there already.

 6. Following photo to help answer a question. It comes with the original deluxe gig bag. In the constant flux of my gear, this was a great idea at the time, but I've never really got on with it, hardly played it. I've not set it up because it's neck off alchemy. Plays well enough none the less. I've got Mel's old white P, the best I've ever played. I've got Tom's fabulous Sunset Orange jazz. I've got an excellent, passive, Sea Foam Green FSR P/J. Despite WANTING a Custom Shop, anything other than the 3 above is excess I don't NEED. And that McCartney Rick is haunting my dreams and I know I won't be able to play it Anyway, I babble! 7.
So are there any safeguards for buyers and sellers using these groups or is it simply like a glorified noticeboard which you use at your own risk?
Sold my last two basses on them with no trouble. Both sold quite quickly as well, for the money I wanted. My 2001 Sky Blue US jazz went on the North West one. My Sadowsky went to a guy from this manor, but he saw it first on the Bass Market UK f/b page and that's where negotiations started. Only changed to PM on here, at my request, when we got into bank details. I still think there is considerably less traffic on here than 12/15 months ago and I think that may be contributory to folk setting these F/B pages up.

 9.
Photos of the actual cab would help.
+1 Added to that a 5 hour round trip and pushing £60 in fuel doesn't help. Bubble wrap, a bike box from Halford's and a Stanley knife are your sales friend (well, for the other 80% of the population anyway).
 10. Don't know Mr Twit, but there are groups for north west, south east and national that I know of. Sold my last two basses on the NW one.
 11. Thank you. It's only here because I regretfully won't take less than £700 plus courier for it
 12.
This is that little proviso that you keep just adding on in there though isn't it??? Since you keep refusing to answer I'm guessing "no" - you wouldn't put yourself up to be the one who takes the flak off Hall - but you would like one of the BC admin to do it for you. There's a word for that. Ooh - questions, is it a quiz, was that my starter for ten? Actually I only posted on this thread well after the half-way point. The point where I noticed three hypocrites were wanting things their way to suit their personal wants (rather than how the BC admin democratically agreed to operate) without wanting any responsibility for the consequences.
I keep wanting to "walk " away from this, but your constant goading is bringing out the weak git in me. Go back to what I originally posted. I asked a question. I certainly didn't expect 7 pages, most of which is frankly irrelevant, quite a bit of which is simply trolling. I have my answer. A year down the line, BC does not consider the situation regarding the sale of used Rickenbackers should change. Absolutely fine. Now, kindly refrain from winding me up. And the word hypocritical? I think most of us will have been guilty of that at one time or another. Probably unintentionally. Possibly time for the Mods to call it a day on this one. Big Stu, please feel free to have the final word.
 13.
It's been tedious all along. members wanting rules changed in their favour but left out of any trouble should it arise - you being one of the main instigators.
If it's been tedious all along for you, why didn't you just go to another thread instead of staying on this one, trying to be Paxman?
 14. Always fancied trying one of these. What the Hell, pm'd.
 15.
Would those same volunteers also put it in writing, witnessed and legal that they would be fully liable to BC for any losses, damage and costs involved if one of them made a mistake in his diagnosis of real or fake which led to either legal action from JH or a shut down of the site? I can't believe that there are still BCers gnawing on this bone when it should be obvious what the issue is and have done with it.
5 pages back I asked a genuine and honest question. As yet nobody has pointed out where it has been brought up time and again, (after the original thread was put up). I also asked the Mods to delete if inappropriate. Is it really "gnawing the bone" asking if there is any change in opinions after about a year?
 16. But the sale of real Rick's 2nd hand doesn't need THE CURRENT MODS. I have little doubt a "real" expert and a faker expert would volunteer to do it. That's the nature of most folk on this site.
 17.
Apologies for my misunderstanding. I also dislike the 'big guy' mentality about this whole thing and my immediate instinct is also to kick back about such things, but pragmatism takes over eventually and my feeling is that the whole thing is more trouble than it's worth. I couldn't care less if Rickenbackers (genuine and fakes) disappeared from the face of the earth tomorrow so it's just not something to get worked up about. If everyone felt that way then JH would have nothing to cause trouble about. Instead he's probably having a lot of fun putting the wind up people who do give a sh1t. Well, not me matey, you can keep your Ricks - fake or not.
You dislike the "big guy" mentality. But sod it because it doesn't affect you. Selfish, but honest. Irony? Well spotted Hiram 1st to notice. Your prize is in the post (that's a blatant lie ).
 18. As has been alluded to, it appears that EBay don't get heat from Ric from about midnight Fri our time until about 2pm Monday our time, hence the quick BIN ads.
 19. Jon, I was reading your post whilst on the phone to my 81 (I'm nearly 82 you know) mother. She seemed quite stunned at my bursting out laughing. I really did not want to go through "shonky overprice American tat" with her. Right or wrong, you have by proxy, got my mother in the sulks over her inattentive son
